I think until we're past the Thanksgiving Special nominations we should keep up a rate of two a day, and then drop back to a slower rate afterwards.

The backlog was a problem even before the extra nominations. I really don't see how it can be remedied other than making the Cool Wall 'seasonal' like I described in my previous post.

Wierdly, with all the polls, total votes in general have been increasing.

I also have to say that the quality of the actual discussion of the nominations has improved, even if there's been less entertainment from certain users who will not be named's inability to comprehend that others may have diverging opinions on vehicles and that their views may actually be somewhat objectively wrong in some cases.

I still think the cool wall should be moved out of Cars In General and into it's own separate sub forum, however. Its domination of CIG can get a little ridiculous sometimes.

I'm going to try @Liquid's idea for at least two weeks. If it works out okay, we'll keep using it.

EDIT: I've decided against this. There's no way I'm ever going to satisfy everyone, so I'll just go back to 2 every other day like it was already. There's no point in changing it anyway.

I personally think it should have been allowed. The original poll was effectively for the Bel Air, the fact that Chevrolet's other saloon cars of the time were lumped in seems a little unfair.
You know what the functional difference between a Bel Air and a 210 was in 1957? The former came with more chrome from the factory, and the latter required you to have the dealer install more chrome instead. A discussion about any "Tri Five Chevy" invariably talks about the Bel Air, like in that thread, because 60 years of nostalgia has made the Bel Air become synonymous with the entire range.

It doesn't mean that a slightly lower trim level from a time period where all cars could be ordered À la carte anyway is a different car.
