Technically, there is no law against possessing them as long as you had them before 1/1/2000. I have several 30 round AR magazines that I purchased legally. Using them is a different story and most LE don't actually know the laws that well. As recently as 2 years ago, you could order high capacity magazines on the internet as rebuild kits and have them shipped to your door. Legally even. It is extremely fishy though to be a 21 year old kid with a bunch of 30 rounders of something that didn't exist in 2000 like PMags. I have lots of USGI mags that I either purchased or got when I was in the military. Allegedly lol

I made another firearm purchase yesterday. This one was unexpected, but a good deal. It will likely be at least a week before I am able to take the firearm into my possession.

Allegedly
What is wrong with these politicians.

Online, right? My instant reaction to your "made another firearm purchase": What are you talking about? :irked:

Give us a hint! Handgun? Long gun? My guess........ 870! Since we always go different route, it's a shotgun, but not a 870. :P

The 590 has a plastic trigger guard and safety and a standard barrel. The 590A1 has an aluminum trigger guard and safety, heavier barrel, and a bayonet lug. Really though, it is the bayonet lug that deal maker. I mean who needs a shotgun without a bayonet lug.

I like the 590A1 feature a lot. Aluminum safety & heavy barrel's a plus for me. I don't know what Bayonet lug is, but I'm pretty sure my 870 Tactical does not have it. At least it wasn't advertised. :grumpy:

Bayonet lug means that a bayonet can be attached. See the picture below that I found online.

Congrats on the purchase, @Brett! I was thinking about the 870 and the 590; preferred how the 590 felt (as much as you can feel it in a gun store), and would love to hear what you think about it once you've shot it.

Did you get one of those cheap 590A1's PSA was selling the other day @Brett ?

Theres a pic of mine somewhere earlier in the thread

Yep. It was a daily deal and they sold out quickly. The price was too low for me to pass up, especially since I was already leaning towards getting a Mossberg.

For me, Mossberg beats out Remington in just about everything. Weight and functionality more specifically. Old 870 Wingmasters are cool but super pricey for something that old. It's a lot easier to load a Mossberg compared to an 870 especially under stress. Mossberg has dual extractors and some of the newer 870s have been having extracting issues for a few years. Aluminum receiver on a Mossberg so no rust. 870 is steel. Mossbergs feel a little sloppier but none of that matters on a 2 way range. I love my Mossberg. I would also love to get an 870 Wingmaster though.

My 870 came with XS sights(small ghost ring), with picatinny rail, which is nice. Not my pic:

This pic is mine & was posted here few years ago. Consider it a photographic evidence of my crappy photography skill:

And I forgot, but while my 870 Tactical doesn't have "bayonet lug", it came with this:

Better than nothing, right?

God, I can't believe what I'm hearing about on the firing pin. I hope it gets sorted without too much trouble.

Beautiful gun though(beautiful case, too lol), and I totally hear you on the ability to point the aim. Did I mention it's beautiful?👍 it's flawless!
Let me know if you need door breechers......... or tear gas lol
Tear gas. AWESOME. You can't just go out and buy one of those, or can you?
