That also looks suspiciously like the Beginner's Course on the right hand side of the picture đź’ˇ

And the Gymkyama (spelling??) or Autocross course is not too far from the "Beginner Course", it looks like its to the lower-right of the picture!!:)

Tsukuba may be the basic idea for Driving Park!

Sorry to post a "fake" circuit, but when checking out a thread at The Nostalgia Forum, good old Midfield Raceway came to mind. Granted, it doesn't overlap in a figure-8 pattern, but it sure looks close!

This is the Syracuse Circuit in Italy.

Resurrecting this thread, as I just discovered that the Nurburgring is now in lovely high resolution in Google Earth :)
Interestingly, the Grand Prix circuit is not shown in it's newest configuration (which they've been using for a couple years).

Spot on - I noticed the same thing when I was watching qualifying earlier today. It must be an old image, shame it's not more up to date.

Many mentioned Google Earth here, but it seems that nobody uses the overlay feature that enables to attach a drawing to a specific location.

If you're using Google Earth, try downloading the following file and opening it with Google Earth.

Much better IMO than posting pics or coordinates.

Nürburgring Nordschleife
Laguna Seca
Tsukuba

Edit :
Bahrain circuit at Manama is now visible on Google Earth.

why is fiji on the island of japan?

Fiji is not on the island of Japan, Fiji is a South Pacific island nation itself.

There is a relatively famous volcano in Japan, with a racetrack nearby, mountain and track both called Fuji.

finally, i found the tracks on satellite........you guys would not know how long i've looked for the Nurb :sly:

Somewhere in the south of Fuji Speedway.

It really looks like Test Course, even if the length is too small (approximately 3.7 km for this real track vs 10.3 km for the GT4 track).
But it's very similar : same borders, same pits, ...

You don't have Tahiti in your fantasy list.

The layout is based on a nearby island, Moorea, not Tahiti itself which doesn't have a full coastal loop. Each version of the game redesigns it, but the course is based on the coastal road around the island.

I think GT3's layout is one of the closest to real life, even its switchbacks of Tahiti Maze are part of a secondary road, but remember, it is shrunk considerably. Although some of the hotlinks are outdated, this thread might help find some other tracks or background track info.

Cheers,

I don't wander into the GT4 section of GTP often (that's a lie - I never wander in here) - so those of you who don't leave might find this of interest to you:

56k beware.

Ignore the first bit and scroll down to the Opera Paris and George V Paris walkabouts. I originally posted that in December last year in the Videos and Photos bit of the Automotive section.

That's not quite right.

The straight after the right turn after the Casino is much shorter and straighter.
I think you turned north too soon. I think you can see the Casino on the image, further east. The left at the top of the hill is immediately in front of the Casino.

Then you had to go too far to find a straight, and I'm pretty sure the hairpin your created is not at the Grand Hotel, and you return way too far east.

There's a well-known traffic-circle-type-thing in the inside of the right-hander after the left-hander at the top of the hill. (Actually, perhaps that's Casino Square?).

Is there another Monaco map thread somewhere here?

The last post about GT5P maps deserved a new thread in the proper (GT5P) section. I moved it over there.
Thanks. I wasn't too sure whre to put it because A) it didn't already exist, B) I don't have a PS3 and C) I don't come online nearly enough to keep the thread updated the way this one has been.

Sorry to Thread bump but, Anyone been to laguna Seca on Google earth lately? they've got the street view of the track. Looks like they strapped the cam to a race car during a race by the looks of it.
