That's true, but it's still a really fun game eve
n without the online. I do really wish the Horizon series would implement and online system like TDU and the Crew where you could come across players at random, but I'm assuming that would interfere pretty heavily with the whole rewind feature.

For some reason, I never played TDU:2 and seems not a lot of others did, either.

It's because it turned into Casino Simulator, where knowing how to gamble meant you could grow your collection quickly, but the standard route of winning races was a grind.

Honestly, I'm having the opposite problem with Horizon, it's like I'm being showered with credits. I love it, but I'm feeling a little spoiled as a result. :D

EDIT: Apparently my Subaru was feeling a bit tired.

Thanks @McLaren - if I find myself in possession of a PS2 once more or the game hits the Backwards Compatibility list, I'll give it a try. With a username like "ykiki" you'd think I'd be all over an Oahu game.
Just a word of note, there are differences between the Sony & Microsoft versions as the PS2 version was handled by Atari's Melbourne studio. The biggest difference is the PS2 version is missing a lot of cars, but makes up for it by offering all the vehicles available at the start. Audio & graphics are a bit limited as well compared to the Xbox/PC version.

I wish it had backwards capability, but it appears that if the PGR series hasn't been done, TDU is probably well down the list.

Ah. I remember playing the demo on the PC iirc, and thought it was ok. The roads of Ibiza were massively improved and there did seem to be more focus on off-road terrain. I believe they even made strides towards making the garages/homes more customizable.

I think it was the absence of Lamborghini that drew me away. Though, I remember on the old forums, the community manager explained Eden was in a position where they could only afford to get Ferrari or Lamborghini for the game.

You know, since there was a 5-year gap between the titles, I think we're right on the mark for a new one to enter development. :P

Loved both TDU and TDU2, I played TDU2 easily over 1,500 hours. I loved the casino too and was a regular at the poker table.

I preordered the Deluxe version instead of the ultimate, I'll decide on the season pass later when I see the cars. I wonder when the servers will open up for everyone, someone said 9PM tonight, but I thought it didn't release until the 27th?

Last off-topic TDU post from me:

TDU2 had the potential to be a better game than the first one, but it was marred by one of the worst launches in gaming history. Many critical online features didn't work right for months, the developer was going under with employees walking out in protest, and most players had long since bailed by the time the fixes finally arrived.

Time flies when you're having fun. I just took notice of the clock, which as of writing this is around 1:35 AM. Work is calling in four and a half hours.

I nearly gained 35 levels today, won my first HE car (the GT-R R35) in the wheelspin, managed to snag a Jaguar F-Type HE in the Auction House and currently sitting at #3 on the Club Ladder.

:embarrassed:

The Goliath race is fast becoming my favourite. I'm racing it with all kinds of cars.
The massive payouts are a bonus too.
Yes, that's the one you're supposed to grind. It helps that it actually is an interesting route/race. I didn't mind the fact that it took me somewhere around 10-11 minutes to finish it.

Man, is it just me or are the S1/S2 class races on Pro/Unbeatable difficult a million times harder than D-A races on the same difficulty? I clean house in D-A races but when it comes to the S races I have to resort to a S1 AWD Dart Stockcar and S2 AWD Viper ACR to win without having to reset one race like 20+ times. Maybe I just suck.

Yeah some of them are pretty hard. I've noticed that too.

So the C6 ZR1 is apparently missing it's most vital instrument?

Ah, what a nice, beautiful field. This game really is gorgeous, I just love putting on some soothing music and just admiring the scener...

"This next song is gonna be a skill song."

And then 22 minutes later...

This is just one of the several fields I leveled. I had so much fun, my god I love this game.

Yes! Still a bit slow, but a lot more useful! wrong sound sample, as it sounds like an L6 Diesel, but no problem! Just slap a CAT or Cummins sticker on it!! Stage 3 turbo and the thing has as much torque as a freaking semi

I rather take a screenshot. I don't why, but the photomode pics seem very blurry.

The trick is to listen to the classical music station. I had a Skill Song come on that lasted 17 minutes.

Thankfully for me that's the best station, nothing beats listening to Beethoven while in a car with plates inspired by Alex DeLarge (P655321). The skill song thing is just a bonus.

I'm not around here much so I may have missed this, but is there an official GTP clan/club/whatever like we had in FH2? If so, can anyone throw me an invite? My gt is DT770.

Good to see the A.I. still doing things that aren't available to us...

An S2-class Warthog??? Why can't we do that?!
