I don't understand the hype behind the S14. After driving it for a while both stock and modified it's pretty blah. I will probably not drive this car again.

It obviously depends what you're into? For me, I love imports, have since I first got into drifting when I was 12. So I'm pretty excited to get home and have another car to chose from when drifting and also another car that had the RB kit and a heap of other mods.

Stupid question, but does that mean just hold the power button in (instead of correctly shutting down) or just taking the disc out during play?

Not stupid at all man. Go to xbox dashboard, press start on the large FH3 tile and press down till you get to quit, then click the tile again to start it up.

Of course, it is just preference. I am a big import fan as well, but I just never understood the hype within the community for the S14.

Yeah fair enough. I think it's the whole wanting what you can't have sort of thing.

I'd love a JZX90 or JZX100. And also the option to make onevias, sil80 and to be able to put 180 front end on an s15 or s15 front end on early models. I'd love just a type x as well :( so I can make my car in the game properly :(

First drift attempt was ruined by a drivatar. Got it done on my second go. Easy enough. As for the S14 itself...

Dunno what I expected. With two S13s and the S15 available, it wasn't going to do anything out of the ordinary. I'll be painting mine beige, I think. What car are the drifters going to pester T10 about from now on, though?

Either way. I coincidentally upgraded Surfer's Paradise to level 5 when doing the event and got a discounted CLK GTR. Blown away by how well that thing drives! Just slapped on slightly wider sports tyres, an adjustable transmission and a wee bit of power to max out S-Class. It's utterly, utterly lovely. 👍

I've leveled all the festivals to 5 now. Guess I don't really have much to do other than the races that are left to do. I kind of fear this game doesn't have much replay value, over the Motorsports sister game. Will stop playing for now.

I don't want to get bored of it! The game is so great and hasn't been out for long. We still have at least six more car packs to see, and a possible (hopefully) map expansion. I also want to wait until the PC version is fixed.

On another note, I don't think I will ever get the S14. Not that I care much for the car anyway (I'm all about American and European cars), but it kinda sucks not having all the garage available. Plus, I think it is one very handsome looking car. It's probably just nostalgia from when I used to be a Gran Turismo fan though. The 270R was one of my favorite cars in GT2.

I'm rather surprised there's never been a Mark II or Chaser of any vintage in any Forza game, and frankly astounded the drift community has, at least from what I've seen, made little or no mention of this while at the same time berating T10 and PG for not bringing back the S14 (before it was announced) and the FC RX-7.

I don't have that many problems on PC, only real issue I ever seem to have is constantly getting stuck when saving a Livery, otherwise the game seems to run fine on medium settings with my GTX950 which is even below what their suggestions are

Thankfully my PC handles it well too, mostly due to my processor. But it is the exact same problem as you have, which is kind of a painfully annoying problem when you don't have too much time to play video games. I fear going into the autoshow to customize my car since almost every time it will get stuck on saving.

Right?? I don't get it either. Would be a great addition. I'd also love a 4 door 32, 33 & 34. Even an r31 would be cool.

Oh, they'll find something. If for no other reason than maintaining a firm grasp on the title of whiniest, most entitled subset of the fanbase.

I like to slide a car about with the best of them, but actually drifting it and throwing it around like a rag doll feels cheesy as heck.

I haven't had time to go on this evening, so I've literally been on for 5 minutes.

I don't know what people are worrying about. How it can be called a challenge is beyond me.

I miss the days when you had to try really bloody hard to win a car. The Senna challenge from Gran Turismo 6 springs to mind! I spent ages going for gold with those! Good times...

I don't think anyone'd even think of taking that title away from them. The Drift Lounge over at the fm.net forums has been a cesspool and a half even back in the FM3 days and I don't think it has gotten any better

That's cool for something that's not on a 24 hour timer, but in this case? Dunno, don't think it'd be a good idea.

The aforementioned Forza drift crowd would end up exploding with impotent rage.
Which, then again, makes me support the idea.

Ok so I've taken the S14 out for a spin.

and despite all the jokes etc, I will admit it is actually quite a fun little Car to drive and excellent in the drift zones.

Certainly not amazing or that it's absence ruins a whole game.

But it's alright for taking out here and there.

now I wait to hear the whining of a Honda Civic or something not being in the game.

Jesus, I find it funny how much people love to whine about drifters. I'm a drifter but I'm not the type to complain about something missing. But I think most drifters are upset because they don't have a game or game mode that is like a drift competition of sorts. Although drifting is very rapidly becoming one of the most popular forms of motorsports worldwide I don't think they will ever get it right for drifters. The problem is the majority of people can't drift or if they can it's not to the level that would be required to be competitive in a drift game/mode. Which would mean they would need to dumb it down for the majority of racers. Which would then mean it would be too easy for the enthusiasts and even further away from simulation.

Long post but I'm sure you understand what I'm getting at.

"Challenge" is a very broad term, what may be easy for you and I may be incredibly difficult for others.

I miss the days when you had to try really bloody hard to win a car.

The difficulty of these Forzathon challenges needs to be kept proportional to the prize and thus far they have been. The horns only required participation and the S14, a cheap 90's compact, requires a decent drift zone score. They have said challenges will vary from insanely easy (which we've had) to ludicrously difficult so you may very well get your Senna-like difficulty down the line.

You'd probably find people that can't drift would be the ones complaining, the majority of the drift community wouldn't have a problem obtaining a drift car through a drift event. Although there are plenty of people out there that think they're drifters "drifting" their awd cars haha. They'd probably complain as well. Lol.

Wait a second... I hate and suck at drifting, but 35,000 points is not really that hard to achieve, is it? Any suggestions on which zone is the easiest one to achieve this?

It's not about drifters, it's about Forza drifters. That's a very specific group of very specific people, who are very outspoken and very incessant in their QQing.

If you're not a complainer, you're not even close to those drifters.

Unless it's not a drift event - just for maximum trolling.

I don't think it matters. 35,000 seems manageable everywhere. I did it south of the Yarra Valley festival.

No absolutely not. 35k is nothing. If you're struggling, hold the hand brake in and counter steer to the first corner, you'd most likely have atleast half of required points on a lot of the drift zones.

Personally I've had my biggest scores on the double hair pin and the one of the ones in the outback that is sort of up to the left of the double hairpin i think. Can't for the life of me remember the name though. Sorry.
