I wonder if they'll gift a Centenario to all demo players like they did with the 2017 GT in FM6.

Me too. I've noticed we're not getting the option to start the game with massive piles of credits either (at least, not yet). As much as I enjoyed that from a "I can do what I want" perspective in FM6, I now realize 25 million was probably overkill. Especially considering the 40+ million I currently have, and well over 100 spins saved up.

I think I'll try to slowly progress this time around. Now that we're the boss, there's less of a drive to own everything all at once, IMO.

Agreed. I might just play it like I did in FH1. I sold the Corrado starter car, bought a 1994 Mazda Miata, and went from there, slowly earning cash to upgrade the little bugger. I'm just not a fan of having a starter car that's fast and pre-upgraded like in FH2 for example.

I will probably end up buying a '94 Mazda Miata or a Jeep Grand Wagoneer to get my FH3 ball rolling. I prefer playing Forza games like Gran Turismo; low cash, entry-level car, built not bought. ;)

I agree that's a fun way to play the game. I'm hoping I can get either the Reliant, the Lancia Fulvia, or maybe one of the new Aussie cars to start with.

So how are you guys planning to go about the Horizon 3 campaign? Will you be going solo or going 4 player co-op? I'll probably doing doing most of it solo but can easily join co-op sessions if people are looking for an extra set of wheels.

I really hope to do some co-op once or twice.

I only got 6 mil and am now stuck with all cars bought and 50mil in the bank. To say the economy of the game is broken is putting it lightly.

To be fair, I think most of us are probably exceptional cases: I doubt casuals are running into a surplus of credits. I think if someone were to start the game with absolutely no Forza Rewards, it'd take quite a while to amass a full collection (or, as full as possible, now that the available car count outstrips the garage size).

I guess so, but I'm only level 360 I think, and I was taking advantage of the 100% XP boost mods in endurance races, so without that I would be somewhere around 250. I have a guy on my friendlist, who's in the 1000s.

Also, before I completed the first championship I had a Veyron, an R18 and a Lotus E23 in the garage and over 1 million CR (FR credits aside). That's a bit ridiculous, isn't it?

Eh, personally I would rather have millions of credits than scraping by like it was in the 360 Era. That, and getting DLC cars free after you buy the pack; there are still DLC cars in Forza 4 that I haven't even driven yet because I didn't have enough credits to buy them.

Han Solo.
My garage will be all the Ford AU and Holdens with a Mini '65 and MkI Escort.
At the moment, I'm having good fun with the XY in the Muscle Car events.
The XY and XB would be cool for some Ford v Holden rivalry.
I would use the Escort, Retro Fiesta and Mini for some club meets:

If given enough credits, I may start with a Pursuit Ute and cruise around the map with a V8 Ute replica:

Just watch out though, you may see me in your rear view mirror driving this :D :

I'm doing the career mode solo as usual. I might try to do something different with how I play the career this time, I just don't know what yet.

Volkswagen

"With our Forza Garage series wrapping up, I know that a lot of folks in the community have been wondering about a conspicuous manufacturer absence from the game: Volkswagen. With Forza Horizon 3, we’re bringing fans more than 350 cars to the game at launch, including manufacturers who have never appeared in a Forza game before. Our team works hard to license hundreds of brands for every Forza game; from small independent brands to major international automotive companies. Unfortunately, we can’t always align our fans’ desires with the interests of every licensor, as is the case with Volkswagen in Forza Horizon 3. As a result, we’re unable to include VW in the game.

Naturally, there are tons of VW fans here at Turn 10 and Playground Games and we’re as disappointed to share this update as our fans are to hear it. We hope to be able to restore VW to Forza games in the future."

Well, at least we got confirmation.
And that last sentence strongly implies it won't be coming as DLC either.

I'm not too disappointed mind, Yeah I'll miss the likes of the Type 2 and the Beetle and such, but overall I'm not gonna lose sleep over it.

Now of course some people would want to know why they aren't coming back despite being in the Forza franchise from the very beginning and IF the reason ever comes to light, it would be quite interesting as to what it would be.

Inferring from the context of the explanation, I think VW might have been axed due to the other cars in the game.

To me, that makes no sense. Maybe it could be that Volkswagen would prefer to not be featured in a game with lots of off-road vehicles, which to me is the most logical explanation, but still makes no sense with cars like the Baja Bug and the GRC Beetle. Possibly they didn't like the Meyers Manx - a Beetle kit car, sharing the chassis and engine?

No matter what the real reason is, I'm glad there's no mention of Dieselgate. To me, that's some hope for the future.

I don't know, maybe I'm in a conspiratory mood, but it seems to me that if indeed there was a licensing issue, it would affect every VAG brand, not just Volkswagen. They never said that they removed the SS badges due to some idiots associating them with Nazis, but I think everyone knows what happened.

Shall we try and guess some cars from the master list that could potentially be barn finds besides the Reliant? I'm gonna guess the Maserati Pininfarina Berlinetta thing and maybe the Ford Woody Wagon are gonna be barn finds too. Maybe the Ford Deluxe Coupe too.

Just because you license Audi, Lamborghini or Bugatti doesn't mean you will also be licensing Volkswagen, they could all be individual licenses. Nobody knows aside from T10 and VW themselves.

We just have to wait and see if we see them again in FM7 as from that statement, it doesn't look likely they'll appear post launch.
