Quick question for any seasoned players out there, can anybody please explain to me the "packs" I keep winning on spins? Are they effectively free mods, and are they specific to any cars? Some say things like "Race prep - Rare"...I prefer not to mod my cars wherever possible so it's not a gamebreaker for me either way, but it also seems a little unnecessary, I would sooner just have Cr or a car, then pay for mods if I want them.

Regarding the Nascar pack, the track seems interesting enough, glad it's not another oval, and hopefully they get the drafting and handling right, as some of the Nascar events in GT were a prize pain in the rear, especially if you were using a controller.

Mod cards, which you can use in career. Effectively perks.

Yes. Absolutely.

Be aware Tyger, though you may be already, if one uses a mod in a race then all times are considered 'dirty laps', so even clean laps are taken as dirty.

All that means is if you happen to do a really fast clean lap even running a mod which has no speed effect, such as enhanced credits, it still won't count as a clean lap.

Thanks guys, I'll still leave mods well alone then as best I can. At the moment even if I don't have a car which is competitive without modding (for instance a classic cars career thing at Daytona at the moment, just don't have enough max speed) I move onto some other event until I can afford a quicker car which qualifies. This way I also dip into the other events rather than just playing career straight through.

Which is the thing which makes Forza 6 fantastic imo, it is so flexible it can be a vast myriad of things to all people... and to the same person

I have played it a huge amount but still play it just as much... last night I was making videos of various cars going down the Hokenheim main straight and in doing so re-discovered racing the Australian type V8's... today I have suddenly started doing races with unmodded cars as I usually mod everything... tomorrow... who knows :)

Amazon leaked the Nascar Expansion. Link got taken down, but Ar12 saw it before they took it down. https://ar12gaming.com/articles/forza-motorsport-6-nascar-expansion-leaked

Basically, MS confirmed the expansions coming next week, (Tuesday, May 17th) with everything from the original leak plus rolling starts and updated drafting physics!

Found a screencap.

I was so confused last night, there was actual clean and respectful racing in a public ABCs lobby with people leaving space for the faster classes to pass, as well as the faster class drivers waiting for a suitable opportunity rather than just pushing people out of the way. The lobby was like this for all of 4 or 5 races before normal service was resumed :indiff:.

Those 4 or 5 races were easily some of the most enjoyable I've had in the public lobbies, one of which even saw Monza GP show up (1st time I've ever seen it in a public lobby) where people didn't cut the chicanes. The first 2 laps was very close in C class, we crossed the line to start lap 3 with 1st, 2nd and 3rd in class all side-by-side, but unfortunately in to turn 1 I was the only one who hit their braking point and then ended up taking the win without any more action, it was good while it lasted :).

I've always stood away from the VW's in the game for some reason, but decided to build one last night. I chose the most recent Scirroco and bumped it into A-Class, RWD converted. It's actually incredibly agile and nimble, even with the 3.7 V6 swapped into it. It has really good front bite, and as long as you don't abuse the throttle in the higher RPMS it will go exactly where you want it to. I took it to VIR Grand West and managed to beat my previous best on the second lap, with time to spare. I'm definitely going to be getting some more seat time with this one.

It is another oval. Homestead is being added in because it's an oval. The infield is just a bonus.

The only thing that interests me about the Homestead infield track is it has a lot less hair pin turns then usual and with the concrete barriers resembles a street course.

I'm not a huge fan of Nascar and now owning rFactor I'm having difficulty justifying paying $20 for one track.

Midway through that sentence I realize I can probably download Homestead for rFactor and try it out first.

Been playing FM4 again recently and can't help but feel that it is still a better game than FM6, the lighting is more realistic with proper reflections, especially in homespaces, the sound seems more raw and loud, FM6 kinda sounds weak in comparison and physics seem more fun and real to me in FM4, in FM6 I can't seem to get into the groove where I'd want to put in multiple laps, I'm bored with it's car behavior and lack of car feel. Overall FM4 just feels more feature rich, many places to visit in the menus and such, while FM6 feels barebones and stripped back.
I just felt the special feeling from FM4, the same way I felt back in 2011 and a major upgrade that it was from FM3 on all fronts, even the intro video brought some nostalgia (FM6 doesn't even have one), hopefully FM7 will be more fleshed out with more community features like car clubs and others. I feel so lonely while playing this game with nothing that suggests there's an active community out there and it makes it feel dead and forgotten.

I kind of agree with you but I think Forza 6 has lost something compared to Forza 5. It had a bigger learning curve than Forza 6 but once you got into it, you understood it well.

I still think that overall Forza has never quite achieved the same thrill/joy of the act of driving itself like say GT does, it doesn't feel bad, but say driving the Nurburgring in GT is pretty exhaustive and demanding, and you have to be fully in the drive all the time, in Forza 6 with no assists I'm bored driving the Ring, because frankly it's very easy, flat and boring, and I don't get the same feel that every car handles uniquely, even if there are differences ultimately all cars feel generic in their handling. So in the end, there's no thrill on the track for me, and there isn't much meta game outside the track.

I just did the last few Nurburgring 2 lap career races. I found them to be a good challenge. Wasnt too hard, I appreciate that they didnt want to ratchet up the difficulty like GT6 but I found them to be intelligent and well paced races.

I play all aids off clutchless manual + simulation damage. On all of them I raced cleanly got to maybe 3rd at then end of the 1st lap and then had a full lap to get to 1st.

2 laps of the ring = 14-15 mins so its a good mental challenge especially on the high speed cars.

On GT6 its get to 1st but you only have 1 lap so its friggin' rush hour. Bring your A game because you will need it at expert level.

Forza seems to want to aim a bit lower than GT6 and that's fine.
