Don't want to bring it up in the GTS section, but I think now T10 can safely rest as far as having the biggest car list out there, nothing is gonna threaten that status in the observable future, up to 602 cars now and counting, I wonder if they're gonna slow down the car production for FM7, although I hope they don't. FM6 is by far my most played game in the series and the new expansions keep injecting life into it. I hope we see one more expansion before Horizon 3 drops.
To be honest, I wouldn't even mind if they slowed down on DLC vehicles, some here or there would be nice and welcome, but I think at this point they can spend money and resources on other things.

Looking at the time scale though, from 2013 to now, PD has managed to produce 140~ vehicles, meanwhile Forza has pumped out somewhere around 400.

Not sure about this one. I run 'cosmetic' in rivals as a safety net, so no fuel issues.

They added a setting that allows you to run cosmetic with fuel and tire wear.

I have to agree to be honest, save something for the next forza game with regards to cars, lol.

To be quite honest, I to think T10 should pump out a few tracks. Not in expansions, but in a track pack or on their own. Just as I think Homestead and VIR should be. We have more than enough cars in the game now, to the point that a fair few people are beginning to hit the garage limit of 600 cars. But there are so many tracks that could, and should, be added to the game. Such as Cadwell Park, Snetterton, and Oulton Park here in the UK; and not forgetting Donnington also.

There are also some other tracks in Europe, such as Mugello. Which, in all honesty, needs to return to Forza. I loved that track, and still regularly drive it in Assetto Corsa.

Yeah, the could focus on the tracks now, the cars are fine. Although the track output has been stellar as well, from 14 in launch FM5 to 26 in launch FM6, increased to 17 and 28 respectively after release. Considering FM4 got only 5 new tracks and some were removed from FM3, the change of pace for T10 in this gen is refreshing. If they can continue producing 7 cars monthly and 10 new tracks for each new game, I'll be glad. Wonder what they have in store for FH3 DLC since no race cars are allowed on the streets, lot's of new street ready metal coming.

As far as I am aware, T10 still outsource a fair portion of the 3d work to freelancers. Which would explain how they are pumping out so much in terms of cars and tracks. I never made anything for T10 personally, but I would be laying if I said I hadn't made some extra pocket money back when I was 21 with regards to freelance 3d work. There is always freelance work available for both 2d and 3d artists. It can also often be far cheaper for a studio to hire freelancers, increased output with less expense is always a bonus; allows maximum profit.

After a decade of moving about and changing computers however, these are the only examples I have left of my old 3d work. I have not done anything new with the 3d stuff for a very long time.

Yes, Turn10 outsources their cars and tracks, and by far the majority of western devs do these days to prevent budgets from going absurdly high and keep development times in check. Even NaughtyDog had to expand from 150 people for ps3 games to 400+ to develop U4.
As we can see in this studio's portfolio they've produced cars for Forza, NFS, Driveclub, Dirt, Grid, etc.

Yep, its pretty much an industry standard practice.

Small we content update to fix wheel/controller vibration amongst a few other things.

Question, you guys think we'll see anything from T10 at E3?

Of course PG with FH3 are bound to be there, but I hope we see something from T10.

Last year I thought we would have seen some FH stuff, but they pushed out the Porsche Expansion a week earlier than E3 and didn't attend.

You think they did the same for NASCAR, or they got it out now to still have something for E3?

Either way, it'll be interesting too see what T10 has in store for us for the rest of FM6!

I think FH3 is the most you'll see of the franchise at E3. T10 at best, may release a pack and that's it to keep the focus on Horizon.

I think the last E3, they released a track. Or was it 2014?

In 2014 they dropped the Ring on us with a "play it now" type of announcement AFAIK. Yeah that sounds like a good guess. Maybe a free car pack with some of the most requested cars from past Forza games? A normal paid car pack wouldn't suffice on stage at E3 tbh.

Probably the final release version of Apex.
Good point.

That's got me thinking, maybe they'd do a cross-buy car pack for E3?

Buy it for FM6, get for Apex and vice versa? I always thought that would have been a cool idea for the Motorsport and Horizon games - especially with the more road legal focused car packs (like the Top Gear one). Probably just wishful thinking, though.

Nah, they make more money if packs are tied to a single game.

So random question. Is there anyway to turn off the pit info that pop ups when you arrive in the pits? I don't need to know my position or distance to the end when I'm hot lapping. :indiff:

There should be an option in the hud menu

Well my sync save went south so lost my game save, but i had been neglecting Forza 6 anyway so restarted and enjoying it more than ever. One thing though in forza 4 I liked the way the cars weren't all upgraded to maximum in the races, anyway of making that happen? For example take a car that is say 580 and a car thats 350 by the time you upgrade the car thats 350 to 600 it will own the car that can only upgrade with say an air filter to make 600 etc... I used to like putting an under powered car against a better car.

I am sorry to hear that, someone here also lost their save and went to Forza's official forum and well they couldn't get the save game back but at least they gave him 50 million in game cr. Also at least you don't lose all your laptimes set in Rivals, right? I guess that's a little something.

All the times are stored on a server, so even when losing your save game, you still keep any times you have set.

One thing that I always do with any game, and this is since the xbox one released. Is that I will keep going back till I get to the starting screen for it, then I will exit to the dashboard. I will usually leave the Xbox turned on for a few minutes longer, just in case it is still uploading save data to the cloud. Game saves on the xbox one are stored both locally and on the cloud, and if there is a mismatch between them; that could cause them to corrupt. I never turn the console off while on track or in a game.

One time it actually let me choose between the cloud save and the local save. I forgot the circumstance, but something had went wrong and I had accidently started a new save because of that. Once I realized it was creating a new file I backed out and shut down and went back in, and upon rejoining, it let me select which one was the correct one. However, I wasn't paying attention and I selected the one that was a fresh new save, so I lost everything

That really sucks.

I went back to playing FM4 not long before FM6 released, and I lost my save game there. I lost all the unicorn cars I had also. I had pretty much all of them.

That was me. :)
Only wanted my Ferrari 312P back. Got that, credits, and all of the vip cars I lost.

Potentially showing off something new for Forza 6 at the Petersen Museum for E3? I doubt they'd have a special event there just to show off what the game has already got.

I'm curious to see what it is even if it isn't new content for the game, though!

Nice find! I also wonder if we'll see a standard car pack in June. Back in 2014, we got one for FM5 and It was released a bit earlier than usual (Friday, May 30th) and a few days later, Turn 10 gave us the Nurburgring. What do you think? Likely or not?

PS: The name of FM5's June DLC was "Bondurant Car Pack". That racing school was still using Chevys before switching to Dodge and becoming their official school. And, speaking of which, we got the Challenger, then the Formula Mazda and, this month, the Charger. The only "Bondurant" vehicle missing right now is the '16 Viper ACR.

No need to say It'd be awesome to see it in Forza.

With a new more powerful xbox all but confirmed to release in 2017, I wonder what T10 plans for Forza 7 to leverage that power increase. Finally ToD/Weather transitions? They've got the pieces in Forza 6, but a new box might just allow them to combine all these features they've been working on. I wonder how ambitious they can get if Xbox 2 is as significant an upgrade as insiders claim. A partnership with Oculus Rift could possibly mean VR in Forza as well, the best candidate really and great for both racing and forzavista.

Didn't we get excited about Forza at the Petersen in the past, too? And I think we got nothing. If new content is coming, it will probably be presented at E3.

I am doubtful that the power increase will be "leverageable" at all. The 8.5th gen consoles additional firepower will likely be reserved for VR - and I doubt games will look prettier than they do on their less powerful brethen when playing them in flat reality.

What is it with these kids online? They're on their mics. They can't even vocalise. The gurgle happily whenever they get into a massive wreck.

If they plan to levy parity across the original models and the "upgraded" ones, where you can put the same disc into both, then don't get your hopes up... unless they've figured out by now how to get both running at the same time while varying themselves independently.
