Renault Sport Clio R.S. Super Lap

Been practically away from the game for 10 days. Came back last night, draped my Clio in MAntuofermo's tune and was able to do a 51.993 (DS3, SRF, ABS1) within a two and a half hour session. That's great for me -on first night out!

So thank you MAntuofermo! -And congrats on YOUR time! ...Mind if i ask; besides adjusting height to 110 - 90, have you changed anything (like camber?), since posting?

THIS THIS THIS!!!! Had trouble, tried this tune, 1:54.060 no problem. I think I could even shave off another half second fairly easily but not until one of my friends manages to beat my time.

MAantuofermo, I used your setup in a new car with NO oil change almost to the letter and got a gold after 3 laps, previously I could not get past silver. Thats all I needed, thanks.

This was the worst seasonal event yet. Took me forever to get gold. I absolutely hate this car, way too much understeer and no grip. Thank goodness I'm done with this event.

Thanks for the tune Cargo, I went from 45,000 ish to #928 with your tune, many thanks.
Is it possible that some of the Super Humans in the top 10 could post their tunes for us mere mortals?
I loaded #10 ghost to chase and he just pulls away from me.
I think Cargo's tune is awesome so how is it possible that another driver with same PP can seem to have more power?
I'm not suggesting anything untoward is going on, but maybe share your tunes with us so we who are only human can keep up with you.
Once again thanks cargo for helping and many thanks to doodlemonoply and MAntuofermo.

You're welcome and glad the tune helped you out. As for your question, the likely answer is in your own post. ;) It really comes down to skill. I've said this many times before, there is no magical, end-all, be-all tune that is magically going to make you faster. A good tune is only going to help you up to a certain point, that point being your skill level. Case in point, you using my tune. That tune is capable of at least a 52.194 (my current time) if not a little better by a higher skilled driver than myself. The fact that you were able to place #928 with it when I'm currently in 167th with it just proves my point. If you don't have the skill level, no super tune is going to help you. I don't mean to sound harsh nor am I knocking you because of your skill set, I'm just trying to say that if your skill set isn't that of the top 10, you are never, nor should you expect to, keep up with them, its just not going to happen. If the top guy gave you his tune and if its a good one and happens to fit your driving style, then you may gain 2-3tenths from it, maybe a bit more, but you certainly won't keep up with him if you aren't as skilled as he is. I really hope you understand what I'm trying to say here and hope you aren't offended, I'm just stating a fact here. There is no magic tune that's going to make you into a top 10 driver. The only thing that's going to do that is practice, and a lot of it. Again, please don't take my post the wrong way. Placing under 1000 is nothing to be ashamed of or unhappy about. I remember the first time I placed under 1000....I was ecstatic and felt like I won the lottery or something. Just stay positive and keep practicing, your hard work will eventually pay off....trust me. ;)

Long story short about the benefits of practice: 4 years ago I first started playing GT. I couldn't even keep a car on the road I was so bad. Now, last night, I got my very first 15th placing in a TT event, my highest ever. (Granted, I may fall a bit since it still has about 3 days left, but you get my point) Practice, that's the only thing that's surely going to make you faster.

Well said cargo, that is absolutely correct about practice and skill levels.
I was well into the thousands when i started and only played to get gold etc, then along came two heart attacks and diagnosis of heart failure and serious heart disease.
Then i had more time to practice than before, and then weekly i found myself improving a bit at a time until one day you find yourself climbing your friends list (got a lot of faster than me drivers on mine).
Another thing i found as well is to try using the same persons tune for each tt, i use cargo's because his style suits me better than most.
Anyway will be back full time in a week or so when new meds are sorted out.

Very sorry to hear about your health Stewy, hope all goes well for you from here on out and wish you the best of health in the future. 👍 As someone who has had my fair share of bad health, I can relate to you as far as having more time to play. GT and the friends I have made playing the game and GTPlanet have certainly been my savior through my darkest of times. Hope to see you back soon my good friend, its a joy competing and conversing with you. Also, some very good advice from you. 👍

Thanks for your reply cargo.
I fully understand and am not offended. I only play a couple of times a week as I have a busy job and Wife and kids.
GT 5 and 6 are really the only games I play. I played Gt1 thru 4 as well but not very regular.
My daughter gave me GT6 and a DFGT wheel for xmas and I think they are great.
I have even been able to manage Bronze on the Vettell challenge in Gt5 with the DFGT, something I was never able to do with a stick.
I will keep on practicing and maybe one day I can crack top 100 on a regular basis. (Managed #55 for a while on the Teslar TT) top 200 now.
I think yourself and Praiano do the the community a huge favour by posting tunes and I have the upmost respect for you guys.
Also huge respect for all the super fast drivers out there, we are out to beat your times .
I will practice hard (when I am able.)
Cheers

Maybe they have got more power than yourself?
If they have got the same setup, think most use the full weight reduction, they must be getting a better exist speed from the final corner.

As cargo said, they could share their tune with you, won't necessarily make you faster though. I've used a few tunes from top drivers and can't keep the car on the track....

....Ok then; well I shouldn't expect to get it all served on a silver plate either!

So i experimented a Little myself with changes to MAntuofermo's set up:

Camber doesn't seem to Work for me! with rear camber at 1.0, I struggled to get under 52.6. With front camber at 1.0 and 1.2, I was at 52.2. To be fair: I did sometimes get an edge on turn one -compared to my best lap- with front camber -so that might be worth another go. Also I don't know whether there's a synergetic effect in using both front- and rear camber or whether to adjust the suspension a bit with the altered camber.

Then i messed a Little about with the power and found that changing to standard exhaust, then chiptuning and upping power limiter to 95.5% continuously made me about 0.5km/h faster at the starting line. After 45 min's i made a small improvement to back it up: 51.968. Definitely worth another try!

...oh and i have LSD accel at 40

EDIT: 51.930 -still using own mod.

Both setups from MAntuofermo and GTP_CargoRatt bring me to the 0.53.8xx with SRF off. Maybe 0,150 to gain if all comes together.

As you drive with SRF on I recon, any small suggestions for these tunes that would help to go faster without SRF?

I couldn't help it. I turned SRF on for this event and was my first time. Dropped 2 seconds off my time and there is the Gold. I am so sorryyyy(apologizing mostly to myself ). I am definitely against SRF and should have disabled it and fix the time to get Gold to :56 secs or so.

My reworked setup from @GTP_CargoRatt :

It is possible to get 51.4xx with this, puzzle together my best sector times and the total time would be 51.48x but i just cant get the bloody car cooperate over an entire lap! hate the car and hate the track more than ever, especially first corner! Currently stuck at 51.552:banghead:

Suspension:
Ride height: 95/80
Spring rate: 4.80/3.85
Dampers compression: 2/5
Dampers extension: 3/4
Anti-roll bars: 7/2
Camber angle: 0.0/0.0
Toe angle: -0.12/-0.75
Brake balance: 2/9

Transmisson:
first set the final gear to maximum (5500), then the max speed to minimum (180kmh)
1'st: 2.643
2'nd: 1.959
3'rd: 1.615
4'th: 1.370
5'th: 1.175
6'th: 1.014
Final gear: 4.600

Differential:
Initial torque: 5
Acceleration sensitivity: 60
Braking sensitivity: 5

Power:
No oil change, install sports computer, and set limiter @96.2%

Body:
install ALL weight reductions (Stage 3 reduction, carbon bonnet, and windows)
Downforce: 0/20 (rear wing installed)
Ballast weight: 11kg
Ballast position: -45%

Mitch, while I fully agree with you & Stewy regarding the skills aspect, joeledward has a point regarding the straight line speed. The guy in P1 pulls away from me quite dramatically on the straights. I notice he's using a racing exhaust, from the engine note. This makes me wonder exactly what performance parts combo the top guys are using. I managed 1HP extra using the racing exhaust & tweaking the combo. This got me to 207HP. (Can't remember what else I changed & I'm not at my PS3 now.)

Thanks to you and Cargoratt for the setup, currently down to a 51.883 with time I can possibly still get

Edit:

managed to get down to a 51.833, not much of an improvement but I think it puts me fastest in the UK for now :) I was struggling to get near my time but noticed I needed to fix body ridgity, after doing this I managed this time on the very first lap. Just thought I would let people know, maybe doing this can help them improve 👍

Hi Mantuofermo
thank you for sharing and nice time !!!
super tuning 👍
my time with DS3, No aids except ABS1 and manual: 0.54.127

"Here in France, many Clio RS, but never seen tires with comfort ..."
has soon

Maybe I'm a bit thick but you could put up any video and say 'this is my time'. If I put up a video, which I do, I always show full instrumentation and stats. This is mine, full everything and the time is right there in front of you: Not saying that you didn't do the time you posted, not at all, but take the time to put everything on the screen. In my opinion, and I may be wrong, that helps more than what I just saw.

You guys are really fast !

Still another 0.07 sec. to get gold, I gave up. :(
I can send you a tune if you want. It's not that hard. Bone stock except for a few adjustments. Add me on PSN (same name) and I'll send you the tune. For this event, the more stock you are, the better your time.

But your video doesn't prove you whats assists you used, or even you did it in the Time trial event? You could have made that recording in single player/time trial with many more HP? Couldn't you :odd:

I can assure you SEB's time is 100% legit, no srf and a 54.127, anyone can check if they're prepared to take the time to look, leaderboards and Record details don't lie.

As I said in my post, I wasn't questioning the time at all. The time is in my video, as I said, and I describe what I used in the post. Any video can be rigged but if you're suggesting that mine are, you're dead wrong. If you want, I can post my leaderboard positions, but anyone can find them anyway. As for SRF, I always use it. Times are better because of it so if that's not the point of TTs then I'm missing something. Our group never uses SRF online but in TTs, it's the norm, at least in GT6. You've given me a suggestion though. In future videos I will include the titles showing where it's from but, hey, that could be skillfully edited too, right? Where are your videos? Seb and I have posted ours.

Edit: Of course you can tell it's in the TT. The bloody times are on the right of the screen with the trophies. Duh!
