Well seriously I think its time that you two either took it to pm's or just stopped ruining this thread. We don't create threads with the intent on arguing minutiae. If you don't like the game thats fine, but don't waste our time trying to convince us to agree with you.

R2 comes out tomorrow. Who's getting it day one?

me :) , i geeked out on the beta and regardless of what anyone says i thought the game was fantastic! This and Motorstorm will keep me occupied for quite a while.

If 1080p is FULL HD, then wouldn't 720p be sub-HD, 720p certainly isn't Full HD. I would even hazard to guess that in split screen, multiplayer coop, that it's rendering in standard definition although I could be mistaken.

Other then that, I agree with everything you are saying.

No.

720p is High Definition. 1080p is another resolution classed with High Definition. The minimum resolution to be classified as High Definition is 720p. "Full HD" is a catch phrase Sony coined to sell their sets.

It is not currently known what resolution Split screen is rendered in, however, I would wager that it is 480p or more.

Anyone getting the collectors edition?

A friend of mine is getting it and I must say that the chimera figure and the bullseye controller charger thingy really get my attention, I think it's worht it for collectors, sadly we won't get it in Mexico, which in some way is good since this season has tons of great games and money doens't flow as much as I'd like.

I have 2 of them, one for me, and one that I will get autographed while I'm at Insomniac Games on Thursday.

Apollo - What are you talking about "Bullseye Controller Charger"? Pretty sure that's not a part of the Collectors Edition pack.

o Chimeran Action Figure w/Bullseye
o Special In-Game HVAP Wraith Gun
o Digital Comic
o Art Book
o Novel Preview
o Behind the Scenes Blu-Ray
o Game (with CE unique cover)

I think that's it.

Actually I had my doubts too but a friend who pre=ordered it told me so, and if you take a look just under the bonus dvd on the special edition image there'es something that resembles a bullseye, but most probably you're right.

Looks like my Non-Collectors Edition is in and on reserve. On my way! *woosh*

I just picked it up. It's in the car with the plastic unwrapped. I'll have to wait until I get off work to check it out. The guy at Gamestop said there was some 420 hours of game play to complete this game 100% If he's even half true, this game is massive! The smell of new print in the manual was all too familiar which gave me warm fuzzies. Speaking of the manual, it has a nice 1950's feel with it's illustrations. Can't wait to check it out.

That's the HVAP Wraith gun-model for Competitive Multiplayer. It's a voucher you enter to download the gun.

At least from this image you can sum up from 235 to 289 hours in either case it's just insane, and well I really don't plan on maxing each class and certain things like that.

That's one hell of a way to givce you a voucher, really nice touch in my opinion.

No, you don't understand, lol. There isn't a physical weapon in there. It's a paper voucher with a code on it to get that weapon, that's just a picture of the weapon.

Now, the Chimeran action figure does look great, and comes with a bullseye as well.

LOL now THAT'S a way of being dense:dunce::ouch:.

With some early game play impressions, I will like the single player aspect of this game for sure. It's darker than the original one, more contrast leaning towards a GOW artistic styling in my opinion. Some of the graphical elements are of a lower standard than what I would have expected. Given that this is not a sand box style game, with many static elements I would have expected better artistic detailing in some areas while other elements meet a high quality experience that I was anticipating. Some of the visual effects are really nice and game play is silky smooth. The first glimpse I saw of how epic this game is, was when I first stepped outside when you see LA under attack. They did a great job giving a sense of a large scale world even though your stuck to linear track. It's always a rabbit in the hat trick to pull off an open feeling in a linear platform. I imagine they will offer a good mix of inside versus outside levels, RFOM did this quite well and I expect the same from this title. A nice feature that many games are getting away from is a fully customizable button layout with the controller with up to 4 savable maps if memory serves me correctly. Again, not too far into the campaign, but so far so good! 👍

I started playing Dark Sector after having it for 3 weeks and never played. I was going to go out and get R2 but decided to play Dark Sector First and I never realized how freakin cool Dark Sector is. The graphics are great the game play is cool and the boss battle from the demo was intense. Dark Sector is a game well worth the $16.00 I paid for it :) Awesome action, third person Gears of War type shooter .

The Sixaxis Glaive controls are cool and fun.

I went to store to pick up my sepcial edition copy. And just amazing game. On IGN review, they say the game is EPIC in every way, and in single player campaign there are moments when you're jaw will just drop, and they for once were RIGHT!!!!

Just an amazing game. I love how Resistance 1 and 2 have best GLASS simulator LOL. but did anyone notice how WELL the water is done in physics? Just amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So much action, and framerate is soo steady, and this game looks really smooth, seems it has good AA which many PlayStation games suffer from not having.

I also Check out 60 player online, NO LAG!! WOW. I only play for not as long, because I did not wanted to see all the weapons from the campaign. So I decided I would like to finish story line first before going online.

The water is cool. Where does all the water go that's gushing from the ceiling? They did a nice job with the water, but some volume effects in the hallways would have been something to really talk about. Not a big deal, but it would have been something new like the glass braking effect was in RFOM.

The snow in resistance FOM was some of the best snow effect ive ever seen. I wonder if there are any levels where it is snowing in R2.

I've thought the same things... I remember calling my wife down, "You have got to see this snow..." She thought I was weird, actually she still does but that's beside the point. I think they would do some really cool falling debris caused from the good fight even if there isn't snow.

So far so spectacular! I really can't complain at all. The graphics are just as good as R1 and in some cases much better (shadows, enviornemts). The enemies are great and very intuitive. (most of the time) The collector's edition is a good deal considering the Blu-Ray that comes with the game, the cool Chimera action figure, and the art book. Anyone even remotley intersted in FPS should pick this game up, worth every penny in my opinion. Co-op FTW

I thought the water during the fight with that big yelling thing next to the Golden Gate Bridge was laughably bad... namely when he'd go underwater, the ripples he left looked terrible... way to big (they should have looked a breaching whale footage). Just one thing that stood out for me, otherwise its fantastic so far!

ive discovered coop multiplayer .... now ive quit sleeping , the EXP/leveling is so awsome makes you wanna keep replaying

Yeah, I knew you'd reply. My bad, phrased it wrong. I meant I don't get why this or 1 is so revolutionary...

Guns... Check
Firing... Check
Nads... Check
Bad guys firing but not hitting much... Check
Your guy firing not hitting much... Check

Did I miss anything...?

Well, don't be an ass about it... List them?

I mean, yeah so it has "good graphics" as people keep saying. Whoop de #%^@ do...

Well, just finished this nice and short campaign. I have to say, there were some cool parts, mediocre parts, and some lame parts that left me asking why.....

All in all, a good experience but not as good as RFOM, again...in my opinion. More details to follow.

So far the campaign is good. Its pretty varied from what I have seen thus far.

The online is just amazing. The co-op is very very addictive once you understand how it all works. Competitive is also just as much fun. And the stat tracking is just as good as Halo 3, so Im very very pleased with it so far.
