Nice Ham! I like that mod too, But a bit too easy for me now. I don't know why, but I liked it but then got over it too quickly. If you want another mod with Porsches in it get the Endurance Series by Enduracers.:) It is excellent, ALMS, Le mans, and European championships from 06,07,08. That is an excellent mod.

For some reason or another, I can't get the Endurance Series by Enduracers to work for me. Ironically, that was the mod I had been looking forewords too the most(C6.R). I've even tried all the patches, and posting on VirtualR (since I can't find a place on the enduracers website to ask questions).

Have you tried re-installing it? It worked for me with the V8's package. 👍

I just downloaded the Endurance Series by Enduracers and wow. Thanks Mad for recommending it. So much fun, but very hard.
The C6.R is unforgivable.

@JacZilla, did yours come with an installer?

What annoys me about the Enduro series is that there's no traction control :( Well, there is, but it's only 20% maximum :/

As I use a gamepad (XB360 controller) I had to add an upgrade to each car that gives 80% TC to make the cars drivable :|

Yeah, that would be tough Sharky. I can't even drive it with a wheel. It's good fun and very rewarding when you do stay on the black stuff though. So often I find my car sitting against a wall somewhere in that mod.

L_Hamilton: I tried reinstalling rFactor on ver. 1.0, 1.1, and 1.2 of the mod. And yes, I used an installer each time.

Sharky: CTD anytime the mod is trying to start; when the mod is used as the initial starting mod, or when the mod is selected in-game.

Check the RFM, make sure it has this line:
Code:
VehiclesDir=GAMEDATA\VEHICLES\EnduranceSeries\

I've had CTDs exactly how you describe yours; 110% of the time it was due to rFactor being unable to find the mod's car files - which is usually an RFM issue. If you used the installer from the EnduroRacers website it should work perfectly if you point it to your rfactor root folder.

The EnduranceSeries.rfm file has the correct information in it, as far as I can see.

But even after (another) reinstall, when I try to launch rFactor, it sets for an unusually long time at the splash screen, then the standard "X program has encountered an error and needs to be shut down" screen from MS pops up.

Can you upload those files?

Please?

The "Gran Turismo for rFactor" train just added a new train car. Meet High Speed Ring:

It very much looks like the Gran Turismo 4 version. I don't think there's EVER been a fictional course from Enthusia nor Forza that's been featured yet for rFactor. I'm not going to download this right now, but it looks pretty cool and a nice PC rendition of High Speed Ring.

I was waiting for that to be released! Sweet!

Video by track's creator:

Now all we need is a decent version of Deep Forest (the one already on rfc is WOEFUL) + Apricot Hill and Midfield :D (already got Grand Valley, it's good enough)

Just went for a spin around HSR in the CARTFactor mod. Overall, it's very good. Only two (one?) minor flaws that I could see from my time running the track - turn 2 and turn 5 need to be a *bit* tighter. I was taking them flat in fifth in the CARTs at around 270k. From what I remember of GT(4) - haven't played GT in a while - T2 should be ~170k in an openwheeler and T5 around 160 or so?

That aside, very good representation of the 'ring. I like it.

PAPAOSA and myself will be joining an FVRV8_091.5B server shortly if anyone is interested in joining check my profile and add me on messenger to get the password and details. ;)

Mad, question. What settings do you use for the DFGT to get the best experience? I seem to be able to not get it anything like it feels on Prologue. FF is currently about -75% and feels good.

I have mine set to default in game and in the logitech profiler the settings are as follows. 310 degrees rotation, FFB set to 15% overall effects strength, 0% spring effect and damper effect. Centering spring strength is set to 15%. So I don't have the FFB turned up that high at all. I also have realfeel plugin installed but it is set to default as well.

Sorry for the double post, but this is just a quick video I made of my league racing night on Sunday. :) I'm in the White #77 Castrol VE Commodore. Starting from pole in both races winning race 1 and 2nd in race 2.

I had a Buemi-Nakajima 1-2 in a MP race using the WCP 09 mod, I'd say all mods have that issue  I might make an offline-specific copy of the mod and give the tailenders a lot less power, that should work :D

I did a quick thread search and no results came back, so maybe this will be helpful to someone else too.

I'm running rFactor on a stock E5200 @ 2.5 ghz with 4GB of DDR2 RAM + a XFX 4870 1GB and I can run most tracks/mods at very high or max settings with up to 30-40 car grids. But, there are a few tracks that give me framerate slowdown--such as the Nordschleife and the new Yas Marina circuit.

Well, almost by accident, I stumbled across a little processor tweak that may help some of you out if you have a dual-core (or even a quad core maybe? I'm not sure) processor that isn't overclocked like me. What you do is go to the start menu rFactor icon, right-click on it and select properties. Go to the shortcuts tab (that should be the default tab in properties I think) and in the "Target" window, you should see this line: "C:\Program Files\rFactor\rFactor.exe" Just add +fullproc (with a space in front of "+fullproc") to the end of this line, so it looks like this "C:\Program Files\rFactor\rFactor.exe" +fullproc

Click okay, and the properties menu should close.

Basically, what this command does is allow you to take advantage of both processors while playing rFactor. Apparently, by default, rFactor only takes advantage of a single processor. I have just briefly tested the +fullproc tweak at the Nordschleife, and I am seeing a 10% framerate increase, and no longer dealing with any framerate stutters at that track. I have been running at 1920 x 1080 resolutions, and I may drop those down to 1680 x 1050 and see if I find further improvements. I haven't tested this on a race grid full of cars in front of me, but I'm hopeful I will see +/- a 10% framerate increase there as well. Also, I have noticed that load times have improved slightly with this tweak as well.

As I said, my processor is stock, and I can't OC because my HP motherboard won't allow it. In order to OC it, I would need to get a new mobo, or just upgrade to a G33 chipset-compatible E8xxx dual core, or a quad-core like a Q9xxx or Q6xxx. I'm not ready to spend that kind of money right now, so this tweak will hopefully come in pretty handy for now, at least in rFactor.

Here is a link to one of the threads where I found information about this tweak: http://forum.rscnet.org/showthread.php?p=3204295 Apparently, this is pretty old news, as this thread dates back to 2006  But hey, it's news to me and maybe some of you can make use of it.

Word of warning: if you decide to use this tweak, you do so at your own risk.
It hasn't happened to me, but some people have reported that this tweak gave them no performance improvements and/or caused rFactor to start acting "glitchy" or just generally not perform well.

But, if you have a stock dual-core, or even one that is overclocked, you may be interested in trying this out. It's working well for me so far.

I personally never noticed any difference with the fullproc switch. Dropping the shader level to DX8 or even DX7 does a better job of improving frame rates imo :P

The other thing that you can do to make rFactor use more processors is to alt+tab out of the game, then ctrl+alt+delete to bring up task manager. Go to processes and find rfactor, right click on it and find "set affinity" this will allow you to use more processors, but the only issue is, you need to do it manually each time you play with this method. I have a Quad-core so it comes in handy for me. :D

Anyone got any good tuning guides/tips for me?

I'm racing a WTCC06 BMW E (something something), and I just can't get used to it, the only way i can keep her stable under hard braking is by having a 59.5/40.5 BB, which means I lock up my wheels, anything less and I get huge oversteer and I lose it in to the corner. Finding the game quite difficult in general, enjoyable, but difficult.

Engine mapping is at 3, tyre pressure is soft, rife height is 9/8.5, coast is at 100%, preload is at 2/3.

Currently at Rockingham, in the series we just did Brands, I only made the last race and came last being a whole second a lap slower than the fastest, probably nearer 1.5s.

I'd try setting the brake balance more toward the rear, only a touch though.
Then soften up the rear suspension a tad and push the pedal down a bit less.

Took me forever to get used to not just flooring the pedal to stop. At one stage I put a 100% deadzone on my pedals, that actually seemed to work quite well.

That would probably reduce performance! Fullproc means it only uses ONE core, but uses it fully. Leaving your other 3 cores unused, at least for the game.. :)

They said rFactor 2 will use more cores properly though, so you've planned ahead..
