Is there anyway to fix the force feedback of this game? I got the trial version and with FF active, if the wheel is not exactly centered it keeps either pushing to the left or to the right all the time, which is very annoying.
I have been testing my wheel with different sims since I got it last week. So far I've tried it with GTR 2, rFactor, Race 07 Demo, Race On Demo, STCC Demo, GTR Evolution Demo and Grid. GTR 2 has the best FF in my opinion, but the only game I'm having a problem with it is rFactor.
Also, I got the simraceway.com software but didn't use it yet. Do you guys use that program to get the rFactor mods?
I'm not sure, but try reversing the Force Feedback under the control settings.
I think it starts out with positive force feedback by default, but you have to adjust the slider to the left and make the force feedback negative.
Not really sure why they did it that way, but that's what I did.
Also, you can download the RealFeel plugin from rfactorcentral
http://rfactorcentral.com/detail.cfm?ID=Real%20Feel%20FFB%20Plugin or other places as well.
It's a plugin designed to improve the overall forcefeedback with the G25--but it works for other wheels as well.
When you have that plugin, when you go out on the track to practice, you can really adjust the FFB so it's just how you like it. You just use the Ctrl key + the numberpad keys to make the adjustments. From time to time, I will get in a car, and the forcefeedback will feel just as you described above--it will pull to the left or right if not centered. With the RealFeel plugin, you can fix this immediately by hitting Ctrl + 8 on the numberpad, and it will reverse the FFB forces for you 👍 It's a really great tool to have.
And I do use use simraceway.com to download mods. The one-click install they have is pretty handy, although occasionally, I have had to manually install some mods anyway, because they wouldn't install properly. And there are some really good mods that they don't have, but for those, you can just go to rfactorcentral as Sharky pointed out, or just search for them and you will usually be able to find them somewhere.
EDIT: If you download the RealFeel plugin, you may want to plug a pair of headphones into your PC, because when you're out on track and you make the adjustments, it doesn't show up on your screen. There is a computerized voice that repeats the changes you have made. I guess you could probably hear it if you really crank the sound up, but I live in an apartment, and I don't want my neighbors to kill me
So I just put my headphones on for a second if I'm making adjustments. Of course, you can also feel the effects of the adjustments when you are driving. Sometimes I just drive really slowly around the track while I am making adjustments so I can feel them.
The great thing about RealFeel is that once you have the adjustments to your liking for a particular car, it automatically saves them in your profile 👍
