This one was of me, Pole position, Castrol white and green Commodore. I hit the kerb and lose it in front of the field, and all sorts of chaos occurs...
Proof that not even V8 Supercars - real or simulated - is safe from...

:ill::yuck::ouch::crazy::scared::eek: THE BIG ONE :eek::scared::crazy::ouch::yuck::ill:

:D

I'm having issues with installing mods. Basically the game keeps reverting back to the OWC car that is in the game already. VHR is the only mod I have currently and it installed itself. I know I'm selecting it on the "Series" list but it reverts after I pick the track.

Any ideas?

Head over to rFactor Central...

In addition to a helpful forum, there are a lot of other rFactor resources there.

Latest Round Video for the League I race at. If you enjoy crashes...watch this one, was a round of horrible driving really.

rFactor is out, but rFactor 2 you mean? It is rumoured to be out this year. 👍

Hi everybody,

My RFactor community has given me a server in order to organize free access races. The plan is to keep using in beetwen 5 days 1 week straight same mod and circuit and then move on to another combo. I will use only 100% RFactorcentral stuff, then you only will have to download from there, install and race.

I have started with Clios and specially dedicated to people running this days on GT, Fuji circuit, just to help them on the adaptation and testing "feelings".

As far as you are clean and fair racers (if you are not, you know what happens), you are invited any day any time to come and have a bit of fun.

This is our web, but you don´t need to login or anything to get to race.
(i hope i'm not violating any rules of the forum, if that it the case please tell me so)

And the RFactor Central links for the mod and circuit we are using right now.

I´ll be glad to see you there, you'll find me as Max Rockatansky.

Anybody knows is rFactor is gonna be released on 2010?
rFactor is out, but rFactor 2 you mean? It is rumoured to be out this year. 👍
Sorry, I mean rFactor 2, i tried the demo version of rFactor, and it`s great, i hope to play rFactor 2 this year:)
I wonder if/hope rF2 will have backwards compatability with existing rF mods. It would be really nice if it does. :)

Hello rFactor folk!

I was wondering if anyone here currently runs or has run rFactor on a Windows-equipped White Macbook (mine's the 2.1Ghz model)? If so, how's the performance on it? Pretty smooth, or a lot of hiccups? I'm about to order a full Windows XP with SP2 specifically for rFactor, so it would be a good idea to get a handle on what's what in this particular circumstance. Much appreciated, Thanks!

We're starting our 2nd season of BTCC at SROL on the 11th May, practice starts at 5PM GMT.

Cars on offer are:

Alfa Romeo 156
BMW 320si E90
Chevrolet Lacetti
Honda Accord
Peugeot 407
SEAT Leon
SEAT Leon TDI
Vauxhall Vectra

3 x 40km races, runs as the BTCC does. Using the RaceX mod and that's about it.

Any interest, let me know, it'd be good to have some GTP'ers on board as well. You could even join my Eat my VTEC Accord team!

I'd take up the offer on that if I could but unfortunately 5pm your time is actually 3am in Australia. Although I did go to SROL and I will download the mod so I can get on a server at some point if anybody is interested in racing BTCC. 👍

Yeah, time difference is a pain. It's a good mod, we've made quite a few modifications though. The tracks are what make it though, I love Donington and Croft, excellent tracks. Struggle at Snetterton though, tough track to be consistent at.

I might be tempted. Haven't used rFactor much, so I'll download the mod and give it a go and see if I like it.

I'm downloading all the mods now from SROL. Is the server open or locked?

The servers rotate based on what league is running, I don't think the BTCC server will be up until about the Sunday before the race.

Daan - 👍

I was able to install rFactor on my newly-windows-equipped MacBook and it runs great! Could be better of course, but I'm satisfied with what I'm working with. Now, I just have a couple of questions. What are some mod recommendations any of you may share? I already have a couple, including RealFeelPlugin. Which leads me to my second question. What are the best settings for FFB with RealFeel? I noticed when I tried the game without it, the FFB was a bit odd, in that instead of pushing against my steer, it pushed with it. I thought RealFeel would fix it, but it hasn't. I also don't understand the settings in the RealFeel.ini document either. Otherwise it's a great game, and if anyone could please help, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! 👍

If it pushes with the steering, you need to invert the forces in rFactor-if they're already negative, make them positive, etc.

Open wheel mods? Touring car mods? Prototypes? It's hard to hel pif we don't know what you like/what you have.

Another newbie here... I have played a lot of GT but have never played any pc driving games/sims. After watching numerous Inside Sim Racing episodes I decided I should see what is on offer.

In one episode ISR they say that the best games to start with are LFS, GTR2 and Richard Burns Rally as they all have excellent driving schools. My copies of GTR2 and RBR are on their way, and I have downloaded LFS but not paid for any licences.

Now to the point of my post... I have also tried a couple of demos including rFactor. I played the demo for about 90 minutes and did not lose control of the car once (a few times I overshot and cut corners) but never spun. I thought that was a bit ridiculous (especially given how many spins I had in LFS) and decided not to bother with rFactor at all. However, from watching some of the videos here and reading recent posts clearly my experience in the demo was not typical of the game.

Due to family responsibilities it is difficult for me to do much on line racing (but I would like to give it a go once I get my skills up to scratch), given this, what would you recommend as the best sim(s) to concentrate on?

If you turn all aids off in rFactor, it's quite easy to spin in any moderately quick car :)

Well, it is for me...

I always turn all aids off - however it is possible I somehow missed this in rFactor (although it didn't fell like aids were on - perhaps rFactor disguises them better than GT4, there was no need to look at the setup to see if they were on there). Hence my willingness to give it a go - if rFactor is the most accessible/used sim then I will buy it and start learning how to mod it etc.

I am downloading the rFactorSetup1255.zip file which is 1 GB. I'm guessing this is the full downloadable game.

It is-although, if you plan on having seperate installs for seperate mods, rF lite is on rfcentral.

128mb, one car, one track.

Thanks waggles! My FFB values were in the positive, so I switched them to the negative...and it worked, oddly. I'm not going to question it, as long as it works.

I've already have downloaded a couple of touring mods, so I guess I'm covered there. How about open-wheelers? I tried looking for F1 mods, but there were far too many to choose from. What about production cars?

Thanks again!

Awesome, I didn't realise it was available free. Make sure you check the system requirements and such. Though if you have a reasonably new (basically younger 3 years) computer or laptop it should be fine to run though perhaps not on max.

Thats what I originally thought (that you had to pay somewhere) I thought there would be a seperate demo download like with other games. Aparently not though, thanks for the tip. For crow that means he's stuck on the demo for a while as I believe he has no access to a credit card.

FSONE 2008 is worth getting, and FSONE 2009 is coming out soon.

If you wanna play online, download F1RFT2009 from www.worldf1racers.com (ignore the 2010 update). You get a lot of tracks from the trackpack.

Serie Internationale Du Mans is worth getting.

Thanks again, waggles! I'll download FSONE 2008 and F1RFT 2009 when I get a chance. I just got the Serie Internationale Du Mans mod a couple of days ago, and I quite like it. Thanks!
