Hey guys,

I think I'm going to get this game now. Just a question. Are the mods easy to install? Is there a guide in English? And what mods should I get?
Thanks.

There impossible IMO.

That's not the answer I was looking for...

. It's not impossible. It's a time consuming process, but it's not that hard to do and by no means impossible. I've never had a problem installing either the 11 or 12 mod pack. I initially had a couple of issues getting the game itself working properly but once I worked those bugs out like installing it in it's own folder rather than in the program files folder, getting the resolution right and other small things everything else was a breeze. Just follow the instructions guys here have provided and you will be fine. The rallysim forum has those small buttons located on the page for changing the language so you can change it to english. Shoot me a pm if you have any more questions or troubles.

I haven't gotten RSRBR yet (will do that after exams which are in a few weeks), but I have installed some new cars. It's a complex process, I just rename files of the car I want to place in the game to mimic those of a car already in the game, and change some things around, I've got a Mark II Escort to work with correct physics now, and it's extremely fun. I don't know how RSRBR works, I don't know if you still have to do the replace other cars one at a time system or whether it adds the cars properly. I still haven't worked out how to change sound though.

And while I'm here, I want to do a championship in-game with my Escort, but since it's an old RWD Escort, it won't keep up with the 4WD's of today. So if I were to swap all the cars in the game for Escorts or other RWD rally cars of equal or similar specs, will the cars in-game slow down to match those cars? Or are the stage times set on an averages that are to do with the game, and have no relevance to what car it is running?

With RSRBR you just install packs of cars at a time (or get the full pack and it installs them all at once.)

Then using the RSCenter (the interface for RSRBR) you select which one you want to use and then it takes care of temporarily replacing the in-game assets with the mods.

Also, Id assume the times are kind of randomly generated within a certain range depending on the difficulty setting, and not actually taking into account the cars themselves at all.

Ah, so it makes it way easier than taking all the time to manually back up and rename files? That is most definitely handy.

I'll test it when I can find time to be bothered with the whole championship times thing (though it most likely is just generated).

I made a folder titled "Richard Burns Rally" under "My computer" so will te mods work now? I know on Windows 7 it's not supposed to be in program files.

My mods aren't working...when I open the RSCenter, and then the "Play Alone" feature, it says I need to install "RSRBR Mod, Car Packs, BTB Country_Updates"

What am I missing? I installed all BTB Tracks, the trackpack, the all in one car pack, and all six updates. Is te RSRBR Mod just the RSCenter?

And it has a folder titled "RXRSRBR" which is empty. Any ideas?

Hello guys, I'm confused with something here. I'm in the proces of downloading and installing RSRBR mod, and as far as I can see, in all those mandatory updates are some cars and tracks that are newly included. Does that mean that I can drive them without downloading the carpacks, or is it just support for those cars and tracks but I need to download and install them separately anyway?

The RSCenter won't let you use anything until you've installed all the updates, car pack, and track pack. I learned the hard way...

How did you get the GoPro to work that good? I just recorded some videos for RBR and rFactor yesterday. The sound is horrible, the picture quality is fuzzy, and you can't see anything on my screen. Any ideas on how you make it like that? I also have the GoPro Hero 1...so that doesn't help.

So I've downloaded RSRBR2012. But not the car/track packs... My question is, is there a way to have RSCenter working without using over 1 GB of my internet usage (that is a damn huge download!).

Edit: I'm just downloading the updates now. However, does anyone know somewhere that will be quicker than Rallyesim. The server is really slow, when I tried downloading the 400 mb base pack for RSRBR2012, it said it would take 14 hours, so I used the HFR server, and it took 30 minutes. I'm currently downloading update 4, I've already gotten 1 and 2 but I can't seem to find #3.

Wait, another question... Just how big are all the files put together? There's the main package, 400 mb. The updates, seems to be about another 500 mb or so. The car pack, 800 mb, and the track pack which is 1 GB. If I'm right, that's almost 3 GB!? That's insane, considering to download files from Rallyesim does 400 mb in 14 hours, this may take over 70 hours of downloading all up! Why is this thing so damn huge!?

I'm having a problem in RSRBR replays....

When I choose to watch a loaded replay it starts where the camera circles the car than skips straight to the end screen.

Same thing happens when I retire from race just before hitting the finish line and trying to view replay from there.

Yeah it does the same for me too. My replays never work either, only in the original RBR not with the mod pack. Don't know if there is any way to fix it as I've seen others have this problem as well.

Glad its not just me then......hopefully theres a fix for it

I've got a rather worrying problem with RBR... no pacenotes on either a fresh install or with RSRBR installed. Using the pacenote manager doesn't fix this problem either.

EDIT: Fixed the problem by changing from 5.1 surround to Stereo in the control panel.
