I have to say, I haven't been as hyped waiting for a game since GT4. They really
did mess about with that release and I got very agitated

After that, I realised that getting properly annoyed (as in actually angry) over the
release of a video game was actually quite daft :)

So whilst I am indeed eagerly awaiting the release of RIDE on X1, I'm calm and
content in the knowledge that it'll arrive. In due course

Which bike you on? I had the same, beat the first 2 on a fully tuned MT-07 then smashed in the final. Went back with a tuned Honda CB650f and won all 3.

I can't use the honda in this drag as its for 3 cylinder bikes only.
I've tried a fully tuned and prepped street triple, and the most powerful bike available to me at the moment, the Brutale with a full tune and prep.
I smash the first two guys and get my a$$ handed to me by Michael smith.
No matter what I try.
Annoying.
I'm sure there's a bike you can use but so far I haven't found it.......

:irked:👍

Edit: oh this just gets better and better.
I finished the elite trophy race, then bought a load of bikes, and quit the game.
Just reloaded it after eating, and guess what.
RIDE has discovered my save file is corrupted, failed to load it, and I have no reputation points.
I have all my money, some of my bikes, and NONE of my race progress completed.
The last two fairly major sessions on the game have vanished completely.
Im back to zero.
All the sections that require points to access are locked out.
Xbox guys, count yourselves lucky, as this is one seriously unfinished product.

Grrrrrrrrrr

👎:grumpy:

This is the exact same thing that has happened to me! It's very annoying, but I have heard some people have it the other way round, with all their races saved but no bikes or money, so at least I still have my bikes.

Milestone need to get this patched ASAP, there is a fair few people reporting the same thing on their Facebook page. I am on the PS3 and I have noticed a few bugs, the biggest of which is the game corruption issue.

Its a shame, as I was thoroughly enjoying the game up until this point.

The most annoying bug I've come across is that championships are broken. Payout and 'best result' are as per your last race in the championship instead of your point total :(

I was doing one of the championships in the heavyweight naked series. Screwed up the last race and finished 12th, dropping me down to 4th in the standings. Instead of giving the championship payout for 4th place, it gives me that of 12th... And in the events menu '12th' is displayed as best result...
I can't believe they actually ship a game with bugs like that. And knowing Milestone, they won't even fix it most probably.

Other than that, it's a long time ago that I had this much fun with a racing game. Doing powerwheelies on those high power naked bikes is so much fun :D

Sounds about right pump out a really nice looking almost decent game and grab your $$. Then promise next years version will be everything you were hoping for. Are they doing a Motogp version this year too?

Sucks to hear that, VEXD. I seriously hope that they'll patch the corrupted save file as soon as possible. It's widespread too judging by the comments on their social media pages, not just limited to a few people. As it stands now, it's bound to happen sooner or later. How did this pass Q&A?

Quick question. When you put glitches aside, what do you think of the game? Keep in mind the release for me is in May so that's about a month and a half to iron out any bugs. To me this looks like the Forza Motorsport of bike games and I'm actually interested.

Perhaps it depends on your platform.
The game is broken in so many areas on PS3, that it's just very very disappointing.
But there's every chance that it worx on ps4, or other platforms.
Maybe milestone couldn't get the port right.
Who knows.
When it's working, it's fun.
I bought a bmw s1000rr hp4 racing version before I came to bed, and it's just mental.
Handles brilliantly, goes so fast you barely need sixth on any circuit, and does spectacular stoppies.
It'll beat anything in the races I used it in, but there is a class where it will be matched.
Here are some examples of broken RIDE though.
These all happened to me this afternoon.

My MV brutale oil light came on at 145 miles old.
I was about to do a three race championship, so I bought new oil.
Went into the race.
Oil light still on.
Went back out, went to oil section, the oil I'd just bought had miraculously been un-bought, so I bought it again, went back to race.
Oil light on.
Repeat, and no change.
So my brutale is down on power by 2.4hp, and there's nothing I can do about it, apart from actually SPEND credits, but get no benefit.

Halfway through the last lap around Miami earlier, I looked behind me to check the gap back to second place.
When I let go of the look back button, the game froze.
Then without any warning, my bike, second place, and third place all started from the grid, standing start, in first gear.
I had to try to work out where the hell I was all of a sudden, then get ahead of the other two bikes and build up a lead in the remaining one lap.
Which I managed, just.

As previously mentioned, I've lost all my game progress.

When I lost my progress, the game locked me out of races I'd previously won, as I suddenly went back down to rookie status.
Since I've redone those races, I haven't been awarded any prizes, as the game recognises that I already have those, even though it doesn't recognise that I should have the necessary points in order to have the prizes, or even enter the races in the first place.

It takes forever to load anything.
I mean, make a cup of tea forever.
I managed to make four pieces of toast, microwave some beans, grill sausages and mix a milkshake in between choosing a bike, and entering a race with it.
Simply selecting all the available upgrades for a single bike takes around 15-20 minutes, due to the laborious system of menu options.

I have been stuck on the first drag race.
Never found a bike in the category that can beat the third racer, even with AI set to very easy.
In a drag race, the steering is disabled, as you only go straight.
But occasionally, the game doesn't register that fact, and you start on full throttle, the bike wheelies (which it doesn't do 99.999% of the time) veers off to the left and spanners straight into the barrier, while your opponent races off.
You can't stop it, because steering is disabled.
That means that you have to go through the whole process again, starting from race one, then two, just to get back to where you were before the game had a fit.

There is an option in the menu to select a speedo style from either rectangular, round, default or off.
I chose round, and I think that's what corrupted my game file.
Whenever you boot the game, the speedo option you chose has reset to default.
Whether you like it or not.
All other menu options appear to be remembered, but not that one.
Before I lost my data, the last thing I did was change the speedo option to round, then I waited (for ages) for the game to save.
Then I switched off.
Of course, when I came back later, the game had reset that option, but I didn't know that, so,I booted and went into career mode.
I'm guessing that the save file had one speedo type on it, but the game had other ideas, and that's what caused the file to corrupt.
I'm no programmer, but I do know that the data wouldn't have lined up somewhere, and maybe it just went "hmmm, there's an anomaly, let's forget everything and start again".

It's just broken in so many areas.
For a game to be released like this really disappoints me.
It makes you realise that although GT isn't perfect, it certainly isn't borked like RIDE.
I will persevere, because motorbikes.
But be warned, it's a frustrating thing losing all your game progress on your second ever play of the game......

:irked:👍

Tldr: the bikes feel different, sound a little different, go faster or slower and lean more or less according to type, the trax are reasonably obscure, quite challenging and fun, but there is nowhere you can max out your Desmosedici.
There's definitely a fun factor, but RIDE is fundamentally broken.

I went to two local game stores, only one of them had ride, PS4. No PS3 version, came back home, ordered online from Amazon, be here by Wednesday:)

Does seem quite bugged, unfortunately, hopefully they will patch shortly:(

That's what I suspect, the PS3 port is probably suffering from the issues I raised because of hardware quality, whereas someone playing on ps4 might have a much better product and overall top notch experience.

Seems about right. Other than the broken championships (which seems like an outright coding mistake), I haven't encountered any major bugs so far. There's an occasional sound cut out and a bit of visual pop-in on some tracks, but that's about it.

The corrupted save file and the oil bug inparticular seems to occur across all platforms. But by the sound of it, the last-gen PS3 version appears to have been an afterthought - a quick and rushed port pushed out the door.

Forget the above... When I fired up my PS4 and started the game, I got the save file corrupted message as well... So I removed all my application data and started all over again...

The oil bug is on the PS4 as well, I just didn't notice it before.

I hope Milestone takes note of all the bug reports on their FB page and Twitter feed. It's such a shame for what is otherwise a fantastic game.

I have this on steam, even though it's Milestone and I expected some obvious bugs in the game, as if it was beta tested by blind monkeys, I'm still a little disappointed at some of the extremely obvious bugs and mistakes that got through. The first elite trophy does not reward any bike for me and the GSXR600 for the second elite trophy has the rear tyre clipping through the wheel and if I change the wheels the front wheel is too small for the tyre so there's a gap.

I get the oil change bug too, the first drag race is impossible to win, the game crashes at random and there's a good few places the bike can get trapped by getting too close to the track side objects. I could list out a load of other bugs, but one mistake I want to mention is the mistakes with two Honda fireblades. The '95 fireblade is actually a '92 model with '95 paint, and the 2005 fireblade has black headlights for some reason, I don't know how they could miss that, it's pretty obvious.

One good thing though is mostly the bike models are very good, I was worried after viewing the bike line up on their website and saw how rubbish some looked and they even used those as the bike selection pictures in game, they make some bikes look really bad, the actual bikes in game are very good and look like the real bikes, besides all the mistakes and bugs.

So buying from Amazon gets me the game on the 10th of April... The game releases in NZ on the 10th of April. The difference is I pay half the price... Sooo, I have nearly two weeks before I play the game. :P

So are you guys saying, They should released the game without bugs? And in order to do that they would have had to push the release date back? I'm just asking because SMS got a lot of flack for that as did milestone already

Well, it depends on what the bugs are as to whether it is good to release. I mean, minor graphical glitches aren't so bad, but corrupting game saves, and all that? I'd say that's something you should have fixed before release.
