Eugh! It's like nobody even bothered to test this game before launch. Let's hope that Milestone patch this quickly. Like so many, I've been waiting for TT2 for years so now we get the next best thing and it's a bit broken. What's worse is that the sound is rubbish even though they use FMOD which is capable of so much more than is shown here (free to download incase you're feeling nerdy). The only excuse for such pathetic samples is to save memory on 360 and PS3. On current gen and PC it's totally unacceptable. :grumpy:

I totally didn't cave in to impatience and download the demo (bringing me far closer to my internet cap than I'd like :P)...

Totally didn't...

I should be ashamed of myself, but I'm totally not. The physics are way better over the last MotoGP game I played (MotoGP13 demo).

So are you guys saying, They should released the game without bugs? And in order to do that they would have had to push the release date back? I'm just asking because SMS got a lot of flack for that as did milestone already
The only reason SMS got flak for it is due to them setting set release dates three(?) times only to end up with a TBA date.

As for RIDE and Milestone, at least the corrupt save file should've been picked up by either the QA testers or the development team itself. Noone seems to manage escaping it. Someone surely must've played the game before it got shipped.

This is the exact same thing that has happened to me! It's very annoying, but I have heard some people have it the other way round, with all their races saved but no bikes or money, so at least I still have my bikes.

Milestone need to get this patched ASAP, there is a fair few people reporting the same thing on their Facebook page. I am on the PS3 and I have noticed a few bugs, the biggest of which is the game corruption issue.

Its a shame, as I was thoroughly enjoying the game up until this point.

i m one of them, game kept the progress and lost 18 bikes and all the money....

Quick question. When you put glitches aside, what do you think of the game? Keep in mind the release for me is in May so that's about a month and a half to iron out any bugs. To me this looks like the Forza Motorsport of bike games and I'm actually interested.

apart from bugs the game is absolutely amazing... when i started playing it, i couldn't stop it and then the bug came and lost all my save data..

From what I could see on the PS4 application data, there are actually two save games: one for the World Tour and one for your overall progression (bikes and credits). So it seems that they have issues with both of these save files. Depending on which one goes corrupt, you'll lose different things.

Yup, lost my progress but kept the bikes and money, going from rank 1 back to 301 really stung a bit. Still enjoying it so much anyway, getting the big money bucks again for races I know and already have the bikes for, so the cash is rolling in!

:P Have a video of my first test run of the fully tuned S1000 RR

Got the game on release date but couldn't play until now. I selected a different title without even riding once and got a trophy that I own 20 bikes..?

As I read here there are some bugs. Let's hope my save doesn't corrupt..

Cool, can you let them know that last night I lost all sound apart from the wind noise.
It's really hard to tell what your race spec S1000RR is doing without the engine tone.

While you're at it, could you let them know that when I booted my game this morning, it'd lost all my progress AGAIN, so I'm back to the shop to buy battlefield instead.

Kthxbi

:dopey:👍

This Xbox One wait looks to be a godsend!

Gutted for you guys, I'd really lose my patience with a game corrupting on me.

That's a bummer :(

Have fun with Bf. Hardline I guess?

On the Steam forums :
Hi Gamers,

thanks for all your feedback, we are reading all the threads and analyzing the game to solve all the issues.

We are very sorry in particular for the save-game issue, we are putting all our effort to solve it as soon as possible.

Milestone Team
At last, a response. Good to know that they're working on a solution.

:)

I got the PS3 version, wow that game is so much fun! Really great.

I am new to bike games...ahm...well got smoked many times on "very easy" difficulty in the first races (all driving aids off, except auto "tuck in" and "combined brakes" option).
First bike was the Ducati Monster, it is way to slow on the straights (~700cc series), could get a few wins, once i had it fully tuned and developed some feel for riding overall. Next bike i bought was the MV Augusta Brutale, well, no wonder i lost with the Monster.....the Brutale is waaaaay quicker.

It is strange and cool, once i did a few laps, i started to feel the bikes, means when to start leanig or braking for corners (there is no "red flashing gear light" like GT has).

Graphics are "ok" for PS3 in my opinion, the player bikes and modells are nice detailed. Some track enviroments are very bad (textures/detail) others are better. The "speed" feeling on some tracks is amazing (demo seemed kind of "slow").

Glitches so far:
- some enemy bikes become floating bikeframes with attached wheels (all details are gone)
- my bike sound sometimes cuts out when a loud enemy bike is behind me
- exhaust sound primary source (third person view) is the left rear speaker (5.1 system), no matter which bike i ride, the left rear speaker is a bit louder then the rest
- *edited* (that one was no glitch just stupidity on my side)

None the less i am really happy Milestone decided to give us a PS3 version of this great game.

That drag race: I wonder if this is due to the oil bug. If it doesn't register that you put in new oil or premium oil, the hp you normally gain by that will also not be reflected in the race.

Never had an issue with that drag race, and have done it three times now. Try the Yamaha MT09 (runs low 34s easy when fully tuned, 33.900 was my best)

I never noticed that the Yamaha had a 3 cylinder, I must try that. It seems a bit stupid that the only way to win the drag races is with one specific bike. I've tried 3 different ones now and the only way to win is to have the correct bike.

Also I noticed that the rev counter on the HUD is wrong on a lot of bikes, maybe all of them? The redline is too low compared to real life.

I'd prefer to win on the bike I own and have been doing up as I progress, than just buying the bike with highest acceleration number to win one race.

It would be nice if they added something to the drag racing that needed some sort of skill to win, like maybe adding a clutch for launching the bike.

I won the 1995 but it's really a 1992 Honda Fireblade last night, and it seems much lower quality than the rest of the bikes, the headlights only look round from a distance, it seems very low poly. Strangely one of the most popular aftermarket wheel styles that people used to put on them is not an option, but is on other bikes and wheels that were not even available at the time are an option. Also they forgot to put the holes in the heel guards, I have a feeling this bike shows at the wrong LOD or something.

Since I'm waiting for the XB360 version, last night I popped in Tourist Trophy for the first time in years. What an exceptionally well-executed riding experience 👍 ...too bad about the lack of compelling racing or things to do. Some parts of the physics engine also haven't aged very well, suffering from Polyphony Digital's trademark artificiality, though it still somehow works out better than it does in Gran Turismo.

Any TT fans reckon I might be setting myself up for disappointment, or should I be safe re-acquainting myself with the art of translating riding to gamepad controls while I wait for RIDE? I'm not expecting a racing GOTY (or a glitch-free experience), but it does look like the handling/physics are solid.

I wasn't a fan of TT physics, but I think you should be fine to re-acquaint your self, I doubt very much you will be disappointed by the handling/physics in RIDE, it's not what I would call a full sim, but it's enough to have fun with while still feeling like you're controlling a bike. I'm not sure about 360 controls, but on PC the in game options allow you complete freedom to set any button to any control.

In my opinion, the physics still hold up remarkably well, although both the suspension and the tire model has its faults - presumably due to the game using the same game engine as GT4. Loss of grip is somewhat poorly simulated and uneven road surfaces and huge jumps (Nurburgring and Seattle in particular) will unsettle your bike in a very weird way. With that said, it does a fantastic job at delivering the best riding experience on consoles - even to this day.

Personally, I've been treating and playing the demo the same way as TT. Though using different controller layout (thank you Sony for the digital buttons  smh), I've been able to translate that to RIDE fairly well. I think the latter option would be the best.

Yeah would like that. Or a good burn out like you had to do with NFS.

I wasn't too interested in Ride because I don't really motorbikes and Milestone games tend to be quite a mixed bag, but I downloaded the demo anyway and I think it's gone from a 'meh' to a 'will buy cheap'. WRC3 and 4 have been featured in bundles, I think, so I may not have to wait too long.

Exactly the same things I would list as TT's biggest physics shortcomings. As I said, the overall experience is still fantastic (even better than I remembered, really), but boy does TT exhibit some strange Polyphony-isms. At the same time, I'm appreciating PD's passion for details and unique options/features all over again, since I've been away from GT for so long. :)

I don't know if I ever told you, MXHyland, but TT single-handedly inspired me to get my motorcycle license. I wonder if RIDE could have that effect on anyone.

Let's forget about the bugs for the moment. Which bikes are your favorite rides in the game so far?

I've had most fun riding the KTM SuperDuke 1290R and BMW S1000R. Especially the KTM is a challenge with all assists off, as it will powerwheelie out of every corner. Massive fun.

The GSX-R 600 I tried yesterday was nice as well. Reasonable sound, good handling. My favorite supersports until now.

I like the game so far, might be a bit too easy tho once you apply any upgrade, which is a shame.

Didnt went that far yet, still on the 3rd set of race but having lots of fun anyway. I like the various customization possible.
