I wish I could be there racing online, I had time to play earlier but I spent it on Sniper Elite 3 :) A good release to let the steam out of reading silliness at pcars forum with people taking digs at GT, nonsense with sim / simcade / arcade like they know what they are talking about and act all knowing . Taking long distance headshots really soothes the mind  if only for an hour.

It's mind boggling there are people who still don't know how to get the most out of GT, and only know driving generic tune cars then making judgement based on that alone :( How good a game is how good you make the most out of it.

It's just great to take it out in a game. I play Hitman & Assassin Creed. Nothing better than sneaking up behind someone and

Gets out all the frustration!!! and it's soooo satisfying!!! :mischievous: :D

Well, that Round 3 of GT Academy wasn't as terrible as I expected it to be. I got Gold on my second clean lap. I probably had 3-4 laps where I hit cones and got DQ'ed. So, not much time wasted on it at all...My time is nothing spectacular, but it's Gold and I got the credits baby! :D Almost everyone on my friends list who had already posted times can get around the 1st turn hairpin quicker than me, but then I must make up a lot of time on the rest of the track because I'm currently 2nd place on my friends list. Once I get Gold I stop...I can't sit there running lap after lap for hours and hours. No way...I just don't have the desire. Good luck to everyone who is running those GT Academy events. 👍

Have you ever think that stock GT6 cars as very poor replica effort by PD  They got the base right, at lest the car models, but the details started to fall apart, from weight/distribution, suspension, lsd and gear ratio in varied level of accuracy  Then the physics engine that translate it also needs work

So, when one complain that a replica is questionable / pointless, question PD staff works first, do they drive the real car at the track and imitate the experience ? do they even care about each car alignment ? don't just sit and feel good enough with stock PD setup, it's even worse than at least a car with some effort to get closer to real car specs. Even devs from Pcars can make error in car setup, who reportedly hired real race drive for consultation :)

I think PD has done an admirable job in modelling the way the cars look (and interiors on the Premiums) considering the memory restraints of the PS3. The cars look gorgeous for the most part. Sadly, when it comes to the specifications of the cars, PD really dropped the ball. I don't have any reasonable explanation as to why PD can't even get the vehicle weight/weight distribution correct on most of the cars. I would think that PD is in contact with every manufacturer for vehicle information when they are requesting permission to include their trademarked brands in the game. But, it seems to me like PD probably just does a quick Google search more often than not when looking for a lot of the vehicles specs.

The one area where PD usually seems to get the information correct is with the transmission gear ratios. Of course, they aren't 100% with all cars, but the percentage of accurate gear ratios is encouraging. Unfortunately, when it comes to suspension and alignment they seem to be all over the place. It's almost like they aren't even trying to be accurate. For a company that wants to be taken very seriously, I would expect them to put a little more research into the actual alignment settings of each car. I mean, since they like to recycle their cars for years and years, they benefit from only having to do the research on each car one time. Settings don't change!

I would really like to hear PD's answer to some questions...particularly, "Why do you provide inaccurate information on so many cars?" Honestly, I'd love to hear their response to that question. Also, I've seen "6 months" get thrown around on GTPlanet when someone asks how long it takes for PD to model a new car. If that is the truth, they seriously need to hire some new 3D modellers. That is just way too long for one car...especially with the advent of laser scanning technology.

I just don`t get LMP cars, didn`t even get silver :grumpy:, 10 laps, 9 disqualifed, that was a very good time you did 👍, you just don`t realize it .
