So,
I've decided to post a review of the NSX Type R (Spec 3), I would have liked to have posted pics with it but as I have to do it from my phone I can't, sorry.
The NSX Type R, I'll be honest, it's not a car I immediately seen and thought ooooh I must go out and buy that, like many others I headed straight to a Skyline/Evo/Subaru (4wd club) then upto the super cars, anyway after trying RKMs tunes I decided to go through them all and so here we are.
From reading the description in the tune page you kinda get the impression that it's one of Roj's favourite cars and straight from the off you can feel that, you can also feel it's acceleration and how light and agile it feels. Even with cold tires when you know your not at 100% grip it feels planted although the rear can get abit loose if you get over excited (but remember loose means it's gonna be fast).
Once you have warmed your tires up that's when the fun begins
, you can through it into corners and it just glides round them without a care in the world, get yourself onto a straight and it can match the fastest out there, fancy putting one up the inside? Then go for it, it's great under breaking and remains as stable as ever. It is just an awesome car.
I've just ran laps in my online lobby so I could post some lap times, I will say that I ran AT (sorry not got around to learning MT!) and i was using a DS3, I also did an oil change so I'm pumping out 400bhp at 539pp which is slightly higher than this tune is posted with, also I'm not the fastest driver out there but I think these are pretty respectable.
Sports Soft on Suzuka:
Lap1 2:13.760
Lap2 2:12.077
Lap3 2:11.217
Racing Soft on Suzuka:
Lap1 2:04.445
Lap2 2:04.034
Lap3 2:03.796
I know Racing softs take away part of the character of this tune but when you add them............... Damn the awesome gets even awesomer (is that even a word?)
Anyway to put those laps onto perspective I also ran RKM's 370Z GT Acadamy tune on Raving Softs ( is also an excellent tune by the way) at 462bhp and 557pp so it is a step up from NSX and I posted
Lap1 2:04.667
Lap2 2:04.003
Lap3 2:03.643
The NSX was slight slower but with those numbers difference it's not surprising but it was definitely more fun and more rewarding to drive, I could go faster in both cars as I made a small mistake plus I was hungry so needed a food break
Anyway, if you hadn't guessed this tune is a 10/10 all day long, yes it really is that good. So good in fact I have 3, all slightly different but all based on the above (1 at 500pp, 1 as the tune should be and 1 fully tuned which the tune can still handle)
