RKM Motorsport - Tuned Tuners - May '13

I wouldn't mind trying that out :D and the utterly awesome song I was referring to was this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N-_T7bIMnjI
Featuring early animation work by Nick Park too! :D

Just a few things first:
1. It's a standard
2. It sounds like a tin can
3. It's fairly edgy for what it is.

Anyway, while that guy in the link is screaming his heart out trying to sing, I'm going to fake a stomach ache and get home early for a go in that Megane of yours. :D

The Supra 2.5 GT-T I'm guessing? :D I has one of those, totally forgot about it...and I look forward to breaking you more with my Megane

Yup. It's a lovely thing, that car. All power, very little control :D and if I get out of your Megane and am completely unable to drive my Altezza anymore, I shall kill something. Probably a Nissan of sorts. :D

Oh, by the way, you need to change your sig. ;)

I have no idea what my sig even says any more  I shall go fix it...

I have just tested out RKM's Spec I Murcielago and it seems like the car wants to understeer a lot. I tested it on Rome, and before I could go full throttle around turn 3, but now when I do, I hit the wall before I hit the sharp turn.
I have also tested RKM's Spec I Gallardo and it has an EXTREME case of understeer when under acceleration. I was going perfectly around a turn, then once I hit the gas, the car started to drift off onto the outside of the corner, and it didn't do that at all on Spec I.
Those cars hopefully get rebuilt.

Edit: GT-R N24 review coming out soon.

Thanks for the review! It's been a while since the ol' Turbo got reviewed. :D

I think at Deep Forest you'd post a faster time with the Yukamobile. The CTR Turbo is probably more suited to Suzuka and other flatter tracks where it wont lose traction so much, whereas the Yukamobile has no turbo and as a result it loves Deep Forest, Trial Mountain and the like.

But yeah for a 400bhp FF car I think it does rather well at staying out of the cabbage. :D:tup:

Thanks! Rather enjoyed reviewing those two!! :)

I guess I should have tried it on more than the one track but I was up quite early writing that. You can really tell in the final sector of Deep Forest that the car shines, i'll give it a whirl round Suzuka! 👍

I need to find a decent test track and get a lap times leader board going. Time to make me a Yukamobile then lol.

Mini Review #2- Megane IDE
To put it simply, this is one of those 'feel good' cars. You don't drive this with a serious look with the expectation for it to take the win with ease, you drive this with a massive grin on your face, reveling in the rather fantastic handling and its puppy dog enthusiasm for devouring corners. It's just so much fun, so responsive, it feels so alive that not even a lack of power can put you off. It may only have 200hp, and top speed may just be a rather wet 115mph. But behind the wheel, it just doesn't matter. There is so much feel from it that all performance related problems just disappear.

Ok, enough of the vague raving, going into a little more detail now. Starting with the cornering. It does corner on rails, this. I know the lack of any actual power might have something to do with that, but it does have a lot of front end grip. That's not all though, flick it into the corner with what little momentum the car has, let it guide the car into the turn and feel the fun factor shoot through the roof. It's so go-kart-like, goes where you point it to with no hesitation. It is, as far as I can tell in my brief stint in it, nearly flawless in terms of driving feel and fun.

My only slight criticism, and it is very slight, is that the gears don't do it justice. It's too short, top speed is extremely limited. I'd lower the final gear to give it more room to accelerate, it has enough guts (just) to handle a higher top speed.

Just noticed whilst fitting the parts for the Spoon FD2 the horsepower comes up way short (maybe 20 or so) from the mentioned 290BHP. I'm now currently sitting on 284BHP before engine break in. I had to fit the following;

Sports Exhaust Manifold
Catalytic Converter: Sports.

Either I've missed something or are the following missing from the tune? Might just be me. :sly:

You've already said it. You need to fully break the car in without oil change to get 290bhp. 👍

That was with those parts I mentioned though, couldn't see them listed on the setup. Without them it sits at 260 odd BHP. 👍

Oh crap, it seems I forgot to list the Sports ECU. :ouch:

The only power parts mine has is:

Engine Tuning Stage 2
Sports ECU
Sports Intake Manifold
Sports Air Filter
Titanium Racing Exhaust

And then it should have 290bhp after you've driven 186 miles. 👍

Just tried installing exactly what it states and mine comes to 268BHP, I have driven it a little, no oil change, weird. I'll double check. :)

Edit; Yeah it was missing the ECU! haha

I have a question for Roj, and this one is very pussling, in your Lexus IS F RM (I assume it is because of the), the following items are on it.

Sports ECU
Sports Intake Manifold
Racing Air Filter
Sports Exhaust Manifold
Catalytic Converter: Sports
Fully Customisable Transmission
Twin Plate Clutch
Semi Racing Flywheel
Carbon Propeller Shaft
Fully Customisable Suspension Kit
Sports Soft Tyres

I got all of the parts installed and it said no titanium racing exhaust, which makes it impossible to tune the car. Do you mind helping to clear this matter?

Yea…I just noticed, you're missing the turbo from your list of parts. Need to concentrate more next time!

Could've sworn I did. Oh well, the racing modification adds the racing exhaust so it's no big deal. I'll fix it. 👍

She's posting on a phone, so it's forgivable. :P
So RKM rushed these tunes out? D:

Man they're really like PD now

Don't be surprised when we're featured in GT6 as a tuner.

Roj, do you plan on doing any Group C car (I think that's what they were called, you know, big power LM cars) tunes? I've got a big Jaaaaaggg which can be used if you want :D

I wish GT5 gave a thing to go against Forza, where you got to create Vinyls for cars. If they did, I would SO put RKM on all of my Race Cars and make them custom colours. To add onto that, I would also use their tunes only. RKM Motorsports ARE the kings of GT5 Tuning. MFT comes in a close second.

 Do you have a deathwish? LEO!! SOMEONE WANTS A WORD WITH YOUR AXE! :mischievous:

I've done the 787B. There's no reason to tune anymore by my own choice.
Along with the subject of tuning, is it possible to see all three of Zonda's street cars tuned for Spec II?
Probably not. The C12 S (I think?) sure, but it's two underlings I don't think so. :indiff:

Which reminds me, I've still yet to make an RKM livery on Forza 3.
