RKM Motorsport's Skyline GT-R R34 Touring Car

I made this tune to beat the 650pp seasonal. And guess what, i made 2nd :D

The car has huge amounts of grip, quite a lot of downforce, but also has a quite some understeer. The gearbox and engine are a perfect match, well done there! The car has huuuuuge power! Always enough to get you going :D

I didnt beat the seasonal,so gonna try the Aventardor now!

Ok. First things first. I drive with a SIXAXIS, and I have an aggressive driving style, that means late, heavy braking, heavy on the throttle etc etc. I'm also not particularly good at GT5, just average I think

I've driven this car stock a few times around the Ring and the Madrid circuit before, and it's quite a tail happy machine despite being 4WD. A little lairy monster stock

So I tuned it up to beat the 650PP seasonal on Madrid, and the numbers looked promising. 700 odd horses, immense torque and a weight figure of under a tonne. Should be a walkover.

As soon as the race starts, you immediately get a feel for how ferocious this thing is at accelerating, outpacing the GT500 cars with ease. However, things took a turn (no pun intended) for the worse as I lined up to enter the first hairpin: The car understeered fairly badly. It would not turn in at the correct corner speed of about 35mph, the nose would drift wide, and unless you braked heavily and manhandled the car back in line, it would just continue to drift further and further away from the ideal racing line. On slower corners this was less pronounced, however, on the slightly longer shallower hairpins that occur in the middle of this track, the somewhat lightweight beast felt like a two-tonne GT car... :yuck:

This said however, my times in this ZZII were astonishing compared to how I felt I was doing, forcing the car about to stay on the driving line. I hit consistent times of around 1:19, which is fairly quick for me on this circuit. The car was going a lot faster than I felt it was, the only explanation is probably that the acceleration is so face-rippingly fast that it makes up for time lost in corners... (or is it losing time in corners at all?!)

I made some tweaks to the settings afterwards to cure the feeling of understeer, and succeeded, to an extent. My times did seem to drop by a tenth of a second though when I changed it though... but I value driving pleasure over times

All in all, a surprising setup that feels a lot worse than the times this thing posts. I have to say, it's a lot better than stock though: at least it doesn't want to kill you anymore with snap oversteer.

SIXAXIS? You mean you tilt the control to steer? If so, that's cool.

Yeah. It's a high-power 4WD car that can drift on racing soft tyres. It's not going to feel amazing, but it'll win races. It would be a lot slower if I made it more of a driver's car.

Yeah, I should tweak it myself too. The setup has some age now. Glad you could tweak it to your preferences. That's the best thing you can do with someone else's settings really, tweak it to your own style. 👍

Better than stock means mission acomplished! Thanks for the review! 👍

So, like I said I have a new friend and one of two tunes I need to release soon...the '94 Impreza!

And the other one of those tunes, some kind of experimental Ferrari race car called the SP-1R...

Tuner Comments:
So your wife was looking at CUVs again... She thought she needed something big to be intimidating on the road and for practicality.

This proves her wrong. That uncorked boxer smoothie under the hood means everyone will run in the other direction when she's coming through and there's enough room in the back for half of Ikea. Sorry, can't fit the entire store, that's the Ikeamobile's job.

Should also mention you can take it racing when you pry the keys out of her hands too.

This tune is superb, expect a full review this week.
Only two things:
1) It is SUV, not CUV, and...
2) You forgot to post the gearbox tune. I´m currently running it at 220 MPH (I know it´s too long, I´m kinda conservative on that respect).

Right, I've forgotten to do the gearbox since the moment I posted it and it got pointed out. I'll fix it once I'm back home, so next week or so.

For now, reset to default, set top speed to minimum, then set the final drive to minimum, set 1st at max length, 4th and onward as short as possible, and set 3rd to split the difference between 2nd (default) and 4th. 1st will probably be too long but it'll be better.

Also, it's CUV. Crossovers, hateful things that they are, have their own TLA. An SUV to me is, well, an SUV.

 Not quite xD
I don't like saying my controller is a DS3 because... well it isn't. It's the early version without the rumble function

I used the tune on the seasonal. Couldnt win it, but still i wanted to review this beast.

The grip it has is enormous, same goes for the power. It is insane, a 900hp Lambo! Its AWD works great! But due to the great power, AWD and the grip, it has quite a lot of understeer and i cant seem to drive it like i want.

I feel it definitley has the potential to rape the zonda and the Mclaren, but i cant do it :( i just cant :(
I still cant beat the seasonal :(

I did the speed tests though and i won them all exept the G force :D

I really really like the car, but i need something better :P Is there anyone with a seasonal 650pp tune that i can use to beat the AI?

I think you'll have to use a 2J then.

Both of the cars Onboy linked to are actually on share on my profile right now. They'll both win but the RX-8 is the faster of the two. 👍

As usual with RJ's cars. :P

This Insight is so evil, it is even more eviler than Skeletor.

Sorry for being a grammar nazi and demanding perfection and all, but is that even grammatically correct?

Thanks for the quick answer :)

Edit : Do you think I will be able to do the RX8 tune with the premium rx8 ?

Thanks again
Yes, it'll work with the premium RX-8, but the premium RX-8 will be way more than 400PP unless you use the power limiter and ballast.

It's a reference to Ali G. Look him up. :P

I don't have any exact numbers to give you, but try and aim for 190bhp with the power limiter and add as much weight as you need through ballast.

Okay , but the balast is foward or rear ?

(I think that's the only thing I need to know then I'm ready :P)

Keep it in the middle. It doesn't really need to have it moved to the front or back since the RX-8 is pretty well balanced. 👍

I'm trying with the standard Mazda RX-8'03 , it's easier :dopey:

Small discription of the car status

-399pp
-195 bhp
-1300kg
-6.54 kg/BHP

:D

Both. Set the final to 3.585 first, then set the ratios, then use the second one.

Okay , I done this ..

Set Max Speed to 112 mph , then final gear 3585.

But the gear ratios aren't same .

the maximum of 1st gear is 4.583

2-3.233
3-2.420
4-1.895
5-1.549
6-1.320

I'v set on those ratios then 2.500 final gear .

My car will hit 185 mph , that's what GT5 gear ratios say (maybe , who knows) :P

Hmmm…flip the order, do final gear first, then top speed.
