RKM Motorsport - Tuned Tuners - May '13

Nope, I was asking the person who requested a CRX tune a few posts back...damn quotes not working properly! Not that my tune is very good, turbo lag is hideous no matter what and it struggles to keep both front wheels on the tarmac the second you apply any power

I'm guessing thats me then??
Well your CRX does sound pretty fun, apart from the turbo lag, would a mid range turbo help there or shorter ratios?? i know nothing of tuning.

"struggles to keep both wheels on the tarmac" with racing softs? (i would like a tune with sports softs, but i know i'll get chewed up by someone in an EP, EK or EG with racing softs and extra bhp.)

I think the CRX is a way better car than the EG don't they have practically the same engine 1.6 vtec and the body is much more aerodynamic not to mention the car is lighter. i once saw a video on youtube of a crx litterally chewing up a lamborghini from 70mph to 150mph on youtube, I want that car .

Do i get a review of my review?? lol, Is it ok,was a little brief but i didn't want to go on and on as i genrally do. Was there anything you people would have liked me to expand on?

I would agree with that if the Galaxy SII I had wasn't the biggest brick ever...still, it got me £350 pretty easily!

Galaxy SII isn't a brick... it's the perfect phone size really.

Now the Galaxy Note I had... well let's just say I'd smashed the screen by dropping it within a day of getting it. :(

TOO DAMN BIG.

Took out that Odyssey tune on the 500PP seasonal, and it's absolutely hilarious xD

Outpacing Elises, NSXs, it tore past everything the AI had on the straights and wasn't too shabby in the corners either. There's surprisingly little body roll and the car does feel planted all the time. A bit of understeer is to be expected, but otherwise it handles pretty well considering its... an MPV

I managed to clock a 1:45:xxx with it on Cape Ring Periphery, which isn't too bad for me on that track: the Sidewinder NSX got round in 1:40:xxx in comparison.

Still very much worth the build, even if its just for laughs  Did I mention it looks evil too from the front? :lol
Thanks! The Odyssey has been praised for feeling more like a car than a space shuttle so that helps a bit. 5 seconds slower than an NSX is hard enough for a normal car, let alone a people-carrier.

The Mercedes C63 AMG was a reasonable car to start of with, good power 450bhp at 6800RPM, good road holding capabilities and the ability to get sliding with ease. It was hard to fathom what exactly RKM could do to make this already good car better.
Thanks for the review! It's hard to tell the C63 AMG to stop being an angry drift car so you do need to fight it a bit to make it do as you say, but then that's the rewarding part of driving a C63, especially when you beat an M5 with it. :D

Yeah the CRX is marginally faster because it's designed to be a light sports car. The Civic still has to take the weekly shop.

Yeah I've seen that video too. I believe it had a big turbo and spray so it was a proper pocket rocket.

See above. :P I think you could've mentioned how it performs in certain situations but as it is it's a fine review. 👍

SGS2 is kick @$$. I work with mobile phones on the job and I haven't seen anything as good yet. Holding out for the Galaxy Nexus though, once Sprint starts letting them loose.

Is RJ back online yet? My Renault is still waiting to be punted across cyberspace. If not I'll send it to Dragon and make her ask her nicely to tune it for me. I have cookies....and pie. :D

Hey vtiroj do you take in request?

he does, though he has a 1 review = 1 request policy.

your review should be detailed enough too, not something like "this tune is good because it well balanced i like it. now can i request?"

;)

Request Policy

We’re continuing our “1 review = 1 tune” offer. You review a car of ours from the above lists and in exchange, we’ll tune up a car for you. It's preferred you supply the car with all wanted parts already equipped but not 100% needed (may take more time if we have to buy + modify the car).

If you're unsure what a review is, take a look at this, this and this. Hint hint. Videos accompanying the reviews are even better.;)

Hey vtiroj do you take in request?

All the information you need is in the first post.

Alright man, thanks. I do need a drag and a racing tune for my Dodge Challenger SRT 08 though. If theres anything you guys could do

Drag racing…look in the drag forum for some general info on tuning, that's the best you can do without pissing them off. They are…rather highly strung when it comes to tunes, to say the least, so don't make the fatal mistake of asking for a full tune…just read what's there. Also, talking to Rotary Junkie (the OP, to save you some time looking) would be something I'd also recommend.

As for a racing tune, I'd take a look at the Challenger GTS tune, tuned on Sports tyres though, so might not work as well with racing tyres.

Edit: Damn and bugger, tree'd by…1, 2 times! :ouch:

The first post feels sad and lonely because no one pays attention to it. :(

Was about to say that.. People usually just click on the "NEW" button and actually forget to read the 1st post to see if there's something important..

well you need to release more tunes lol, i can come up with a touge tune in 1-4 hours for most cars, only limit is the stupid 1 car per 24 hour trade bs. between the 3 tuners here a car per week is a reasonable request.

Tuner Comments:
Tuned for the Japanese Auto Celebration Shootout, 520PP division.

The Ken Block references are strong with this one. Shift at 7,000rpm to make the best of the torque-rich powerband and don’t be afraid to shift down to first gear and boot it around hairpins.

This is a fully broken in Impreza, without oil change. If your Impreza isn’t fully broken in or has had its oil changed, you probably won’t hit 520PP. In that case, you’ll just have to balance the power limiter and ballast weight until you can hit 520PP yourself.

Tyre squeal. The worst sound ever. Unfortunately this is a drifter. Never mind. Let's line up to make my own gymkhana run, location. Tgtt. I feel like ken block, Revving the engine for the off. A black Alfa Romeo blasts past, he will soon learn the power of the block.

Half a lap, at the hammerhead flick left, slither right. Smoking the tyres up now. Deep into the corner, apply handbrake to tighten the arc. Wishing this car was in white with green wheels. Like in the picture. Instead I'm in a matte silver, chrome rimmed version. Right. I'm done, stopping the hooligans choice of sport.

Time to be a track legend. Much appreciation for the doo. Mainly from a young German chap who seems to like my vulgar colours and is a yobbo himself as he slides his clio v6 round Chicago. He's ahead. Only because it has more power and less weight. I let him slip away down the straight, we hit the hammerhead as he slides into the wall and I slip past him and blast down to the straight. Bang the gear change and hit the low (for a 400bhp car) topspeed. That damned Clio had better find a mini to annoy because I'm bloody annoyed already.

Bang! Gearchange. Bang! Rammed that annoying green ****er off at Bentley just as an x1 looms behind. He just whines away saying he had the ultimate car. In speed, yes. In fun, no. Never. This is a thrilling ride. HOLD ON TIGHT!

P.s I know it's optimised for tracks with small straights but I still like it.

It's not like we've only got 10 tunes up there though. RJ hasn't got a properly working PS3 and Dragonthing is constantly working so it's really just me left to defend the fort. Besides, that's not the point of my complain, there's been so many times where someone has asked for something that's very clearly displayed on the first post. I'm not sure why you'd ask for a tune without checking if the tuner hasn't already done it.

:lol::lol::lol:

Glad you enjoyed the car! Don't worry about the bodywork, I'm sure Mr. Block also goes through multiple bumpers a day. :P It's definitely a car for smaller straights, but that doesn't seem to bother it, at least not at Suzuka. 👍

oh sorry, i thought you were complaining about the pointless banter, and most of your grip tunes are drift tunes with a tire change

Oh no no. The banter is welcome as long as it doesn't go completely off-topic. 👍 I do find a lot of my grip tunes work well for drifting with a tyre change, yeah. Not sure if that's good or bad.

thats good cause its controlled drift at speed, not an unstable car doing a controlled spin or powerslide
