By Rypien on page 1, after updating 75 entries....
(heaps more to come ...... my fingers are getting sore, so i'll be updating the list a few at a time when i go on-line! )

This is not a series. This is not a spot race. This is not an open day.

This is a new database. :)

It looks that way doesn't it

The list on page one is now complete as of this very moment. But i'm sure there will be some drivers squeezing extra time of thier laps and other drivers wanting to try different cars.

I only wish that i'd chosen a different track so that GT1 rotaries could have been used as well.

cheers

well get ready to change it again man , coz i'm having a 54 today if it kills me

great event rypien , excellent ;)

I can just imagine the headlines in the local paper..............

'man dies playing GT'

:P

I'm down to a 55.594.

What a great day! First, at around 2am this morning, I broke into the "55 CLUB". Then later this morning I went with my mate to test-drive Supras - he bought a 3.0 twin-turbo with targa top! :D

I'll keep trying to bring my time down. The only changes I made were a further reduction of 1mm to the rear ride height, and bringing the brake balance from 22/16 to 18/19 (don't ask me why, but sometimes you just have to experiment!).

Yeah yeah!

Hey, is anyone still on this challenge? I haven't seen any posts from Wity or Mr P lately. Maybe they did smash up their PS2s trying for a 54 second lap  Fellas - don't worry about it too much; GVX has probably finished all the half-price drinks in Club 54 by now!

GVX could conceivably be the only dude on the planet (i.e. THE planet) with a sub-55 time...

BTW, I improved my time marginally to 55.545 :)

Still trying to crack my PB in the 787B but unfortunately no luck as yet. I think that i've done my best with my limited skills and current set up.

Haven't been around for a while as "Plague" has taken my a$$ out of action for the last few days

:D Glad to see everyone else id getting closer to the magic 54.xxx number and it will only be a matter of time for some of you guys (Mr P. Wity, Rypien, Jayjitsu and some others  ) I'm not done yet as I wanna try and couple more settings that could result in a couple more tenths being shaved off ;)

Heya GVX, hope nothing fell off during your sickness ;) . Feeling better?

Looking forward to seeing how far the 787B can be pushed beyond the 55/54 second barrier. I've searched the web and your time seems to be the best for this track/car combo. ;)

cheers

Just improved my time when i was just testing out a set up that is based on one that vanishingpoint has been using on our BEERGUT RACING RX7 LM car in a series over at the GTF.

55.622

SR - 20.0 / 19.5
RH - 55 / 55
DB - 10 / 10
DR - 10 / 10
C - 2.0 / 1.0
T - -0.5 / 0.0
ST - 5 / 5
LSD - 5 / 20 / 10
Gears - same as before
DF - 1.00 / 1.25
ASM - 0
TCS - 2

:D

Yeah feeling a bit better now thanks ;)
I think the rest has done some good as I was putting in a lot of time into GT3 and as a result my immune system was running pretty low :(

Had a few more runs last night and had some good results. Went through a stage of changing settings some many times that I forgot what my original settings were   Anyway had a couple of good laps and managed a 54.993 which was clean and sweet! and a new personal best of 54.809!

I'm sure it wasn't down to improved settings but improved lines and getting the max speed through and out of the corners and hitting all the Apex's pretty much spot on. Still think there's room for improvement and only time will tell.

Stick with it guys

Almost forgot.....GTPlanet are having another qualifying event for the GTP team and we would all like to see you guys there trying out for the team. Just follow this link and check it out.. http://forums.gtplanet.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=4010 :D

Still improving GVX .......... damn! :D I don't thinkthat a 54 is possible for me but i am aiming for a mid to low 55 (whether i get it is another story! ;) :P ).

Well I can do no better. Ditching the traction control as GVX did may be the answer but I cant get there. I got to the stage where mid 55's were coming around once every 10 laps or so with T/C but without it I managed only a couple of high 55's in far too many attempts to admit to.

Well done GVX methinks that time will stand unbeaten for a long long time.

I have done a few laps with a stock RX-7 lm and i got a 1:05, I used default settings but I am not where near mr persistance's 59, I havent used my fully moded RX-7 lm yet.

I was in the middle of my testing for my Midfield Race Series when I took out the 787b for a 10 lap race. I found myself lapping a Gillet Vertigo coming out the hairbin on a flying lap and ended up with a time of 59.128 I dont know if you will count this since it wasnt in Free Run but hey I did the time, wish I could give logger data but it wasnt a free run single lap but it was in the middle of a 10 lap stint @ Midfield, i'll go watch my replay and give the sectors.

I just saw this post yesterday and dashed home (after work) and ran the 787 (954hp GT3) and did a 57.800. I thought, I can get a 56.xxx something no problem and of course pushed way too hard, maybe tonight! I'm also going to take the RX-7 LM out for a spin tonight. I need to tune on it a bit and get the ponies up on it too, I left it stock when I won it.

I think there is some room for improvment on the 787 (especially judging from some of the times, man those are fast) I need to work with the AMS and the TCS a bit. If anyone has some tips I would appreciate them.

Phew, you sure dug this one up from the depths

Great to see another 'rotary' nut having a go. This thread was going for ages and lots of very good drivers spent quite a bit of time getting their PB's down to where you see them. If you re read the thread you will find a few set ups that some of the guys used and i think that you will find them VERY helpfull.

Look forward to seeing your next lot of times (especially your RX7 LM times ...... try a fully modded one 979hp and then try one where you just change the oil 600hp).

good luck and have fun

;)

Dang I forgot about this, i'll look and jot them down after i edit some stuff.

Racing against AI can give you an unfair advantage, particularly with the 'slipstream'.
