Not sure where I cut the grass last time, but my latest time ( .3 ) is full of win. Even I'm impressed with how much BS there was going on lol

I know i couldn't stop laughing at it. I kept on matching my quick time last night. I either mess up the 1st couple turns or the very last bit.

There is no specific place I always mess up on, it's all over. Can't even focus on a spot, it sucks. I always gain a bunch of time on my ghost, then lose it back at random places.

Well... if anyone wants to see how many corners you can actually cut, check out my replay, hahahah

If you are interested, T1 is fastest while not touching any grass.

Over coming 120mph grass runners at turn 11 is kind of hard though.

Turn 1? Didn't touch the grass at T1.

Not sure the grass run on T11 is faster either. A clean lap would beat it no problem. Managing it is the problem.

FixByWire your lap is INSANE! How can u drive like that and still be so damn quick? You are sliding all over the place. I especially like the uphill left where u were fighting that drift in 3rd gear...your tires almost melted, lol. Thats some crazy skill man. Are u consistent driving like that? It seems like u would lose control a lot and have to restart. Im only at a 246.8 but I can drive 247.0 all day long. Grip driving is much easier than that crazy stuff u do!

^^^ This is a great example why doing a fast, clean lap will gain you more respect than grass hopping and cutting corners. 👍

Turbo you are very wise.

Let's not forget that IRL you would smoke through those Hoosier A6's in about 3 laps driving the track sideways like that...even if you could be consistent enough to stay fast lap-over-lap, or even just remain on the track.

Yup you're right. But this is NOT real life. It is 1 lap no tire wear and do what you can to get on top of the leaderboard. Would I drive that sideways IRL, nope cause the chances of a tire puncture would deter me. IRL I'm pretty sure the suspension would be screwed after the jump.:sly:

You aren't the one with the driving in question...you use oversteer and sliding as a tool to get through certain corners, something that could certainly translate to real life driving. Either way, once the top drivers move on to the finals (Orlando?) you'll have to be clean enough for the judges not to give you grief...and then there's Silverstone which is real life.

Because it wouldn't be taken like that IRL there should be a penalty if 4 wheels leave the ground too. 💡

Well that might be pushing it. Most cars can get some air, just depends on the length of their suspension travel.

I always try to be as clean as possible. Anytime I get loose, I'm just messing up.

I don't usually crash often, but I do try as hard as possible every lap, which leads to screwed up lines, etc.

In iRacing, I could do qually fast laps in a race, consistently, but that's when I practiced for it. Right now I don't need to, so I'm not worrying about it yet.

I had no sleep last night, so I don't know how I managed the lap, specially like you said, its so dirty, hard to believe it is fast. There is still lots of time to be gained though.

P.S. Thank you for the kind words, I knew you were gonna be a tough competitor when we did the top gear track challenge.

Turbo, the really fast guys usually never complain about how someone is faster because of this or that. They complain they are slow because of whatever, but not that someone is faster because of something.

Fast, fast guys have a different mindset, nothing gets to them, they just try to learn from it and do better next time, unlike you, that just complains about it and makes yourself think you're not on top because we are doing what we are doing.

That's why I know you wouldn't be as quick. Anything is possible but 99 times out of 100, people like you just wont be as fast. It's extremely difficult to be with that mind set. It stops you from ever getting better

Arrg! Im stuck in the 2.47's
The first split is killer, still like .3 slower than the top ghost.
Seems like Im losing the most time on turn 3.

love the lap choate!

i'm currently stuck at 250.9x, such a long track. i've hung with choate's ghost until about turn 8, but he gets me on that exit every time. and then i goof somewhere. trying not to let frustration set in, because i know i need to do better to stay in the top 128 come jan 23rd.

if anyone wants to lend a hand online please let me know! i'd be happy to make it to round 2 with the best of them.

currently ranked 52nd in west.

fix ain't a hacker, he's just a low down, dirty, good for nuttin, hillbilly, from Wicked, New Hampshah!

I imagine he drives this IRL:

What undercarriage damage?

Fix - do you ever run at NHMS with local clubs?

The only track I've ever been to is the PBIR kart track in FL. (and F1 boston)

I got sponsored to do some time trials against the national champion at the time in a TAG ktart. They had never seen anyone do as well with no experience. There is a lot of details about the trip that without I couldnt tell how I did, so thats a story for another day.

Immigration finally decided to get my papers in order recently so I've only had my license for a few months. Never had the chance of doing any racing.

Choate51, sorry, watched what?

P.S. I was going to reply to a private message and dissapeared. I think it was Cheef(sp) that sent it, can you sent it again please?

I managed to get the grass run pretty well this time. 56.0 =)

I drove 860 miles non-stop, slept for 4 hours, another 400 miles... Then slept another 1 hour and finally was able to do some laps right now. I'm beat man. gonna rest so tomorrow I can try to improve some more. I WANT THAT EFFIN COCKPIT

edit: picture only shows up on my phone for whatever reason. I did not watch it as a kid. Don't remember anything I watched except for the havoc series.

I can beat you out of T1 occasionally, has to be perfect and for some reason I have better luck on cold-start runs. Can definitely beat you through T2/3 but have only done it once where I was actually ahead. I typically make up ground between T2/3 that I already lost on T1.

You brake slightly too early at T6. What I have been doing is braking later (I keep the car in a straight line longer and begin turning in slightly later) and I can get a good run up on you into T8.

However, I can't seem to break the +.7 sec. split time you have on me coming into the bend just after T8 going into T9. I'm ranked like 130-something on this track at 2:49.6xx right now. :'( I lose substantial time on you somewhere between T8 and the straight out of T14 and am usually +1.5 sec. split at that point.

Cape Ring makes me sad :(

Fix, that was a great run man. I can see a 2:45.6xx on this track but I'll never be able to put it together. I get 2 tenths on you by the first check, another tenth by the second check and a tenth on the last section. Thats without the grass run because I cant seem to do it the way u do. Im usually at 117-119 all the way through that section with my left tires on the rumble strip. What do you think u can run there on a perfect lap?

No idea, but yea I think mid 45's are possible, (edit:embarrassed:bviously is if you alone get around .5 at the other parts of the track, that'd make a scary time). It's funny how many mistakes there are on our fast lap.

Today, I got time and I'm well rested but my god I am sucking so hard it hurts. Wanted to better my time on rome but not gonna happen anytime soon lol

Also wanted to make that last corner mistake on tsukuba right, that cost me a ton of time. Not happening either. I think I just don't feel like playing.

Either way I got .6 on you overall and I am hopping it sticks until tonight, which should be the deadline for the cockpit and wheel.
