i've tried searching but nothing turned up......

when i enter any of the race catagories [ie Japanese events/endurance hall/etc....] some of the trophies are in round 'windows' and others are in squares.....

why is this? is one type for aspec'd and the other for bspec'd?

Round windows are for individual races (where you can only do the races one by one), square ones indicate a Championship Race is available (where you can do the races back-to-back).

Only by way of your diary, I think.
Here are two entries from my diary, the first was a B-spec "driver training mission", the second from an A-spec only race:

Participate in the Nurburgring Nordschleife family cup. Champion.
Time: 8'39.068

Participated in Capri Rally (Easy) (Costa di Amalfi) . Champion.
Time: 2'26.092

Note that the first says "Participate" (without a "d") and the second says "Participated" (with a "d").

As for what you won the race with, or how many points you got, etc, well, no way to know unless you've been keeping records with pencil/paper, notepad, excel, whatever. However you can re-enter the race and it'll tell you what's the most A-spec points you've ever received in that race.

excellent - thanks....

you'd have thought they'd have programmed in a way of easily noticing which races were done aspec/bspec.....

ah well, maybe next time......

Yes, one would certainly think so. However, viewing it as a former software engineer, it looks to me very much like the whole A-spec points thing was a last-minute addition to the game. Consequently it wasn't as well thought out as most of the rest of the game.

Not to mention some of the glitches in the A-spec thing. Can you say "Dodge Ram Laramie"?

Can you say "Dodge Ram Laramie"?

lol, very true.....

it's a good idea...initially..... but like you said, it seams to be a last minute rush job to implement it......and it should take into account more than just bhp......

And weight, too. Dodge Ram Laramie.

It would be nice to have a way to tell. I'm still without my IA licence, so there are many races I do in B-spec. Same for the A licence and IB licence - I did the races in B-spec before A-specing them again, so it'd be nice to know which one were what.

A followup on diary entries and A-spec/B-spec.

Seems I was incorrect when I stated that A-spec races say "participated" and B-spec races say "participate".

I just ran two Family Cup races on High Speed Ring, the first in A-spec and the second B-spec, and two Sunday Cup races on High Speed Ring, again one A-spec and one B-spec.

For the Family Cup races it used the word "participate" for both races, and for the Sunday Cup race it used the word "participated" for both.

Participate in the High-Speed Ring family cup. Champion.
Participated in Sunday Cup (High-Speed Ring). Champion.

So it would appear that there's no way of knowing if a race was done A-spec or B-spec from the diary entry alone.

the only way i've noticed is to enter the race, and in the top right hand corner, it tells you the maximum number of a-spec points earned for that race.....

so obviously, if the points are at 0, you haven't won it a-spec.........

bit of a pain this way, but the only way it seams
