RTST means Racing Tyres, Sports Tuning. The challenge is open to all road cars, so no rally/race cars. Some tuner cars are allowed (as long as they aren't racing modified).

The challenge is run in Simulation Mode, and the tuning must be done as follows:

- Change the oil (especially if the car is used)
- Racing Medium tyres (R3s)
- Sports Exhaust
- Racing Brakes
- Stage 1 NA (if the car originally comes with NA or Supercharger)
- Racing Chip
- Stage 1 Turbo (if the car originall comes with Turbo)
- Sports Single Clutch
- Sports Flywheel
- Carbon Driveshaft (if applicable)
- Sports Suspension
- Stage 1 weight reduction
- Refresher plan (if necessary)
- You may change the gearbox to FC Gearbox only in the cars in this list.

In short, all the primary/cheap tuning options. Once you're done with that, suspension tweaking should be set at your own choice. If you want to use driving aids, you may only use traction control (TCS), although it'll probably slow you down. If you do use TCS, be sure to put the put it on the submitted time. You may avoid non-power/weight related mods, meaning you can hold back on installing racing brakes, clutch, suspension or whatever. But you must upgrade the engine and weight parts. Oil change is optional, but I'd recommend you do it, since most of us are going ahead with it, so you'd be handicapped by the lack of it.

Track: Nurburgring .

In the few cases where cars come with Supercharger, the add-on will be a Stage 1 NA. If you're unsure whether the car uses Turbo or is Normally Aspirated, don't hesitate to PM me, or ask the question in the thread.

Here is the coding I would like everyone to use when posting.

Time - Driver - Car - Tire - TCS [if necessary]

Here is the color code I used (remove the space after color=)

your time - your name - your car - Power/Weight - TCS ON

(Include the TCS bracket if you've used TCS, if not, don't)

Standard OLR rules to apply, if someone challenges your time, you must provide proof (in the form of an uploaded video or a .max replay file) within a week or your time will be removed from the leader board.

Horsepower to be determined in the settings screen.

The 'ring it will be, since I was hoping for it, and I think you told me about it too, Jay? Seeing as Downforce (sorry man, I'm not typing your 1337! username) is also hoping for it, that's it.

I already have 3 times!!

seein as no one wants to have a go at my tuner challenge (hell, i even made a pic) i spose ill have a go at this one. i vote the ring.

are u allowed a port polish and the other thing in that area of tuning??? and are u allowed a wing???

No and No

In the engine department only racing chip and stage 1 NA tuning (if the car is originally NA or Supercharged)

And no wing. Only rims. I got some odd OZ rims for a black NSX, in the used rims section, the name was NI something... they look awesome.

EDIT: I'll be putting up my times, so feel free to add yous. Let's type them down in the same manner as the Nurb and Suzuka challenge, with the colours and all. I'll put the coding in the first post. And the order, like the one in the Laguna Seca Time Trials, by horsepower.

no wing, sacralige. people often put wings on their sports tuned cars in real life. i think a wing should be allowed. just my opinion.

Dude, I don't feel like redoing all my times... we'll wait and see what other think, how's that?

Keep in mind some cars don't allow wings, so it would be kind of an unfair advantage to those who do.

sorry to be a pain, but i was gonna do some laps with a 91 civic (my Car) and it has the option of a na and a turbo, can i use either?
and i know this isnt in the first post, but it seems logical, if the car u use is from the second hand shop, can u give it a rigidity refresher plan?

8'06.145 - D0wNForc3 - Honda CIVIC SIR II (EG) '91 - 207hp/977kg
i used the turbo, if this is wrong, i will redo the challenge how it is sposed to be done, and no refresher plan. also ,there is more time to be had with the rx7, i reckon a 6'55 maybe lower is possible.

First effort, 3 or 4 laps with each.

Hey Diego, do you actually like the Honda Dualnote?
IMO I thought it wasn't that good. I coudn't take to the handling.

Next up will be the Ginetta G4 and a few VW Golfs. :D

Good question. The Civic is originally NA, so you'd have to put an NA Stage 1 tuning instead of Turbo. And yes, you can do a Refresher Plan as well. 👍

@Jay: I love the Dualnote... it's like so raw. It's quite heavy, mid-engined, 4WD and slides a lot. Maybe it's not the best car on R3s, but on N3/S2s it's a beast.

It's funny how you do good times with cars you like and not so good times with other ones. You beat my RX-7 '90 time by 4 seconds, but I'm ahead by 8 in the Dualnote. Downforce's time on the RX-7 is simply amazing, though. I had a go with a Skyline and got very close; I'll update it this afternoon.

thats true i reckon. The rx-7 and the asl garaiya are my favourite non race cars in the game, ill redo my civic time, and have a crack at a garaiya time tommorow. then i shall be back, i pretty much get all the rules now, so i shant have to enquire any more.

If I'm in a car I like, my balls seem bigger and I'll throw the car all over the place. :D

I'll try Downforce's RX7 tonight. Time & new cars will be posted tomorrow.

New times:

7'01.515 - -Diego- - Nissan Skyline GT-R M-Spec Nür '02 - 400hp/1390kg -- Awesome car... at least 2 seconds left around there.
7'12.716 - -Diego- - Nissan Fairlady Z Option Wheel '02 - 330hp/1319kg
7'13.879 - -Diego- - Nissan 350Z Roadster '03 - 330hp/1364kg

I'd like to do a DB9, but only if I get the racing box. The stock ratios suck.

damn you and your skyline diego 👍
i will give the rx-7 a another crack now
if im unsuccesful ill have to find a new beast of the ring. me thinks an m3 :sly:

also diego, the guy who started this thread recently "Fastest Times on Nurbrugring(stock) " wants you to contact him.

i just checked the other nurburgring challenge for some comparisons, and this is an absoloutly stunning time
'7'09.913 - VTRacing - Amuse S2000 GT1 '04' how this dude did this on n2 tyres is beyond me.

8.09.528 - Jay - Ginetta G4 '64 - 143hp/440kg
8'31.601 - Jay - VW Lupo 1.4 '02 - 140hp/905kg
8.11.613 - Jay - VW Golf IV GTI '01 - 173hp/1164kg
7'28.636 - Jay - Mazda RX7 Spirit Type A '02 - 336hp/1155kg

Lupo 1.4 @ 140hp vs Golf GTI @ 173hp, very similar performance.
I was very suprised by the Lupo, it's a great little car.

The Ginetta was fun, touch the rumble strips & you could bounce to the next bend!

The RX7 was a challenge. @ Downforce - How the hell did you manage 7'01.xxx?
If I done another 25 laps I reckon I would only improve 10/15secs at most.

EDIT: Have you also noticed a slight power difference between identical cars? (VW Lupo/Both RX7s)
With not having an oil change various cars, depending on the use, will have less power because of it.
Not a big deal with small cars like the Lupo, but when the more pwerful ones are used there could be a power difference of up to 25hp. :indiff:

i use the DFP Jay. so maybe i have a slight advantage.
does the oil change make that much of a difference? didnt know this. seems i will have to keep buying new rx7s :)
didnt get a chance to get any times today, hopefully will get some later tonight.

Great times and suggestions... I'll get to checking them after work tonight.

Right off I can tell you the Aston Martin suggested by Venary will have to be run with the stock gearbox. You can tune it like it says in the first post, and it'll get very powerful, so mebbe the ratios although not improved, may get quicker gear changes and all.

And the oil change improves horsepower ridiculously... no less than 15hp gain for an oil change,.... no way

Jay.

The RX-7 is a good all-around car. To be honest 7'28 does seem a bit slow, especially since it's more or less on the same level as Skylines, NSXs and similar Japanese monsters, which usually will round up at 7'15.xxx or so. Doin 7'01.xxx is awesome... I really want to try my hand at it.

diego, i like your humbleness, on that note, im goin to bed, and waking up sixk as a dog tommorow. ALL HAIL THE HUSS.............................dont ban me, i just want to drive.

Hey guys, I like the looks of this challenge, good idea diego. Haven't had much time lately to run any of the challenges, but I should be able to get some times in.

Looking forward to your times... but at the same time, I'm not... it's very frustrating when I pull a 5-10 lap effort only to see your time is like 10 seconds faster than mine... :scared:

Hahaha, I'll take that as a compliment. Also, is it mandatory to make all power modifications, or can you run a single car in differnet classes, i.e. can the the Suzuki GSX-R/4 run in the 101-200 and 201-300 classes. Which got me thinking, actually I thought of this from the other challenges, but forgot to mention it. In future challenges I think the breakdown should be by power to weight ratio, because of cars like the GSX-R/4 which I know can run sub 7 minute times around the ring.

I'll have some times coming later today.
