VW Karman Ghia -- Daddy-O - 9'50.317 -- 59hp/814kg
Lotus Elan S1 -- Daddy-O - 8'05.217 -- 131hp/619kg
Jaguar E-Type -- Daddy-O - 7'36.688 -- 305hp/1145kg

three laps with each. I'm sure I left some time on the track because I kept improving, but got bored...

I'm thinking it has to do more with the fact that we've changed the oil at some point during ownership of the car(s)

I've completed nearly 11 years in GT mode, most of my cars have been used quite a bit and have had several oil-changes.
The dirtier the oil, the more hp you lose.
Changing oil for hp is not a problem for me.
If I'm able to get a quicker time with slightly less hp i'd be happy. :P

Great job on the Leaderboard Diego. 👍

Only three cars so far this week...

7'00.019 - Jay - Aston Martin DB9 - 488hp/11504kg
6'24.492 - Jay - Cadillac Cien '02 - 836hp/1319kg
6'29.894 - Jay - Nissan R390 GT1 '98 Road Car - 479hp/1109kg

Couldn't catch Venari in the DB9, Cien was challenging & the R390 was fun.
More to come in the week. :)

Oil change is fine with me. When I started this I actually made a copy from my completed game and sold all the race cars and any road or concept ones that I had driven, due to the fact that I probably had changed the oil. Then I just bought new or used cars so they all had the standard power before an oil change.

That would probably take me about 3 days!
I must have nearly 750 cars in my garage, & most have been driven excessively. :indiff:

On that note, I went back and redid some of my times. :D

7'16.718 - -Diego- - Subaru Legacy B4 2.0GT '03 - 365hp/1283kg
7'25.226 - -Diego- - Renault Clio V6 Phase 2 '03 - 313hp/1274kg -- I'd still like to remake this one, since I touched a sandtrap with my rear wheel and slowed down a lot during one curve. The car handles and turns like a dream, but on bumpy roads, the tail seems to have a mind of its own.
7'27.378 - -Diego- - Mazda RX-7 GT-X '90 - 272hp/1137kg - Updated
7'44.252 - -Diego- - Mazda Kusabi '03 - 178hp/873kg - Updated
8'09.282 - -Diego- - Pontiac Sunfire GXP Concept - 226hp/1143kg - Updated
8'23.531 - -Diego- - Volkswagen Lupo '02 - 147hp/905kg - Updated

Leaderboard updated when I get a chance at work.

sheesh, Jay,.... what did you do to the DB9's weight? Did it earn an additional ten tons after the weight reduction?

Expect some times from me! In about 12 hours though. Have to do that whole "go to bed, go to school" thing, you know.

Looking forward to them... are they done from the awesome pink chair?

Hehe... probably not though. That chair doesn't work too well on carpet, where my PS2 is set up. It will make a comeback for the dos though. :mischievous:

Leaderboard updated.

@daddy-o: Would you mind sticking with the time submittal format? I was scratching my head there for a while when I was updating the leaderboard  I'd appreciate it :)

I did a few cars with the oil changed. The hp increase is massive in some. The Skyline Nür went from 400 to 420hp. The Cien went from 836 to 850hp. The Autobianchi from 85 to 89 :indiff:

The times are also changed a lot.

Forgot to mention, I used the Gold DB9. I thought it was just gold plated.

Musclecar times coming soon.

erm.... where do u get the weight reading from?
I see where the horsepower comes from, in the settings, but where's the weight?

Jeez, anyone would think id been playing this game for 10 mins, not years

:irked:👍

Oh! weight...... i found the weight, its in the valuation in your garage.

6'53.843 - VEXD - Mazda RX-7 Spirit-R Type A '02 - 345HP/1155kg

Ill have a go with my avacar now.

you can also get it when you do the actual weight reduction in the tuning screen... it says what your car has, and how low it'll be after it

sweet, we have us a bit of a challenge, since the alinght VEXD has dropped no less than 3.5 seconds off Wally's RX-7 time... that's what I love abut the 'ring; no matter how good you are at it, there's always someone who, for further humiliation, will drop your time by more than a second.

Blargh the racing brakes are killing me... running around the ring in the Volvo Estate. No where near a desired lap time... :irked:

Some more times:
6'47.256 - Superhero Wally - Suzuki GSX R/4 '01 - 202HP/620Kg
6'53.014 - Superhero Wally - Mazda RX-7 Spirit R Type A '02 - 345HP/1155Kg - Updated - Sorry I couldn't resist, but don't worry there is still plenty more time to make up yet.
7'09.769 - Superhero Wally - Honda S2000 '04 - 282HP/1137Kg
7'40.828 - Superhero Wally - Toyota MR2 Spyder '02 - 174HP/950Kg

Sorry I couldn't resist, but don't worry there is still plenty more time to make up yet.

This challenge looks great from the sidelines, I can tell you that much. :mischievous:

I had a go at some cars and realised one thing: it's not good to play when you can't keep your eyes open... let me just put it this way, I proved beyond a shadow of a doubt there is no damage in GT4.

So, updating the leaderboard now. Has the RX-7 had its oil changed? No? Maybe there's an extra hp gain there as well as a few extra seconds to be taken as well.

Wally, is that MR2 Spyder '02 the V Edition?

daddy-o
:ill: I am an idiot :ill:

If you say so

I'm going to stick to no oil changes. As for the MR2 it's the 6 speed sequential manual transmission, there is no other designation for it in the description.

Well its not exactly my avacar, cos its 3 or 4 years newer, but it is a civic nonetheless.

7'52.015 - VEXD - Honda CIVIC SiR-II '95 - 200bhp/977kgs
I oil changed cos it had done 30,000 miles, thats why im at 200 brake. (wish mine had done 30,000 miles, its nearly 105 thousand over that :grumpy:)

I will have a look at something else to drive now....

Wally, that RX-7 time is good! well done!
Havent had a go at beating it yet, ive been driving other stuff.
Maybe one nite.

Good luck all

:irked:👍

Good time, VEXD... that's going to be a hard one to beat. I did have a go at a few FF cars today, though.

Sheesh! That's awesome!

I'll be posting my times tonight. I started a new job on Monday and I'm having to dedicate much more time to it than I initially thought. Besides, because of that, I can't log on to GTP from work.

Oh well, such is life.

i know what i mean diego, i dont have time to scratch my ass at the moment. i will have a crack at that rx-7 time withtin the next week though. i will use an oil change though.

Haven't run as much as I would have liked.
But...I started working my way through the used car showrooms.
