2 laps was 2 too many. :yuck:

8'17.543 - ceiling_fan - Hommell Belinette R/S Coupe '99 - 210hp/921kg

Only 1 lap this time, I screwed up at the end of lap 2, I'm not up for another try atm.

Thanks for the add-ins... I'm submitting a few times I did this past week:

6'41.942 - -Diego- - Ford GT '05 - 610hp/1363kg -- This car looks much lighter than it really is. Good thing for this track that it's as heavy.
7'10.225 - -Diego- - Honda NSX Type S '97 - 347hp/1201kg -- I'll never get over how cool these cars drive around the 'ring.
7'12.957 - -Diego- - Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray 350 '69 - 412hp/1355kg -- the vehicular equivalent of riding Pegasus in a hurricane.
7'17.960 - -Diego- - Ford Mustang GT '05 - 370hp/1379kg
7'30.800 - -Diego- - Audi TT 3.2 Quattro '03 - 303hp/1337kg
7'43.509 - -Diego- - Alfa Romeo GTV 3.0 '01 - 278hp/1287kg
7'57.579 - -Diego- - Lexus IS200 '98 - 199hp/1192kg
7'57.722 - -Diego- - BMW 120d '04 - 205hp/1287kg
8'01.535 - -Diego- - Dodge RAM 1500 '04 - 441hp/2103kg
8'17.511 - -Diego- - Mitsubishi Lancer 1600 GSR '73 - 138hp/800kg
8'32.987 - -Diego- - Honda Element '03 - 212hp/1372kg -- Only 4 gears... out of which you only use 2... and only 1 is functional.

7'20.118 - VEXD - Dome Zero '78 - 215hp/892kg

I never drove this car before.
I did two laps.
Cant take 30 seconds out of you Diego, but you have succeeded in dragging me back to this thread again.
That car handles like it's shaped, if that makes any sense at all....

I had two laps in this one aswell:
7'10.179 - VEXD - Mitsubishi CZ-3 Tarmac '01 - 284hp/1128kg
Its my favourite daft car. I just love that crazy gearbox. If only my civic changed gear so quick....
:irked:👍

Found a couple sleepers...
8'07.896 - DJ Baker - Peugeot 206cc '01 - 178hp/1118kg
7'39.626 - DJ Baker - Chevrolet SSR '03 - 363hp/1978kg

Thanks for these... I'll be doing my own version with the 206CC this week, hopefuly.

EDIT: Dang first tme posting and you already took P1 in the 5.xxx section!

EDIT: Dang first tme posting and you already took P1 in the 5.xxx section!

That's why it was my first time posting. :sly: I've run several cars in the past, but with only mid-pack results. Had some time over Thanksgiving to find a couple sleepers. Funny part is, I only had those two cars because I worked on the SSR shocks & I had a 206cc rental car during a business trip to the Ring a few years ago. Had only changed the oil & drove them around the Ring for a couple laps prior to this.

The guy I did the SSR tuning with happens to own a GNX, & I used to have a GMC Syclone which used the same turbo, so...
7'37.987 - DJ Baker - '87 Buick GNX - 321hp/1605kg
I passed on the turbo upgrade, & had to throw 5kg in the trunk to keep it in the same P/W category as the SSR. If that's not within the spirit of the rules, just ignore the time. I did it for my own amusement anyway. :sly:

yeah, I'm afraid it isn't, in accordance to the rules. But it looks like a good time anyways. Keep it up... have a go with the Speed 12... it's an awesome try.

I've never enjoyed the TVRs much, but these were fun...
7'51.561 - DJ Baker - Audi TT 3.2T '03 - 244hp/1520kg
8'18.371 - DJ Baker - Mini Cooper '02 - 152hp/1115kg

A few fun rides for me tonight...
7'26.164 - DJ Baker - Shelby GT350R '65 - 314hp/1268kg Hazing R3s in a 42 year old car... Sweet!
7'45.004 - DJ Baker - Toyota MR2 Spyder Six Speed '02 - 182hp/950kg
6'53.498 - DJ Baker - Nissan R390 GT1 '98 - 375hp/1180kg

Hey -Diego-, quick question, when is this ending?

Never...

It's an ongoing challenge to be taken whenever you feel like it. I'm guessing once GT5 makes it to every home, this challenge will die down a bit, but we could always make it there as well.

Leaderboard updated.

@DJ Baker: I've held back your R390 GT1 Road Car time, since it appears you didn't put the Stage 1 turbo on it, thus, the HP is at 375, instead of the 479 we all used. The weight seems a bit off too.

I did't upgrade the turbo or lower the weight, to keep it in the 3.000-3.999 category, but for the sake of comparison...
6'24.349 - DJ Baker - Nissan R390 GT1 Road Car '98 - 503hp/1109kg
Apparently you guys didn't change the oil.

Apparently you guys didn't change the oil.

Yeah, the oil change upgrade was added after a few runs, so expect some differences between some cars because of it.

Anyway, I also did a few times tonight.

I had to buy, mod, drive, & sell a bunch of turds before I found the right one to pull this off...
8'45.900 - DJ Baker - Honda Accord Coupe '88 - 122hp/1220kg
Picked it up used, changed the oil, & threw on a sports exhaust. No other power mods or weight reduction.
All other mods, except racing brakes. Stock trans.

See, the issue I'm having is that you may avoid all mods that don't have todo with power or weight. You can avoid the racing brakes, the suspension (as Wally does), even the flywheel. But you have to adhere to the rules regarding power and weight mods, so every car falls into the same category. It's also the reason why I've taken down your Mini Cooper and Audi TT times... The Mini didn't have the weight reduction done, and the TT 3.2 didn't have either power nor weight changes.

Either way, I've not updated my times in a while.

...you have to adhere to the rules regarding power and weight mods, so every car falls into the same category.

Didn't see where it said that anywhere, so I thought I was working withing the rules. Excuse me for being creative. Was fun for awhile though.

It says on the first post that the mods Must be done.

IN a later post Superhero Wally says he's avoiding the suspension upgrade, and I think I mention somewhere that it's okay as long as it doesn't affect the final power/weight. Still, it would be cool to see what you can manage with the rules in place 👍

... Also, is it mandatory to make all power modifications, or can you run a single car in differnet classes, i.e. can the the Suzuki GSX-R/4 run in the 101-200 and 201-300 classes. ...

You may avoid a modification, but let me know which one whenever you post it. However, you can only submit one time per car. So submitting a 6'55.xxx @ 198hp and later a 6'36.xxx @ 252hp wouldn't be allowed. The faster time would replace the slower, regardless of the car's power. ...

:boggled:

your point?

No one before has had any problems with the rules of the thread. I don't see why you should be different. If you need further clarification, I'll try to make it clear in the first post so as not to have to repeat it.

I didn't think I'd have to clarify on the weight/power mandatory-ness, since who would want to drive a heavier/slower car? Still, I'll put it up in the requirements.

My point is that you clearly replied to Wally that all power mods were not mandatory. I don't have a problem with rules, I just don't get why you won't stand behind something that you clearly stated all of a sudden. I've carefully applied the various mods allowed to be as competitive as possible in a given class, which isn't that unusual in various forms of competition.

Right. I said any other mods weren't mandatory, when he asked about the suspension mod, little did I know it would be taken to the extreme and applied to power mods as well. I didn't think anyone would handicap themselves by avoiding the power and/or weight mods. And it seems no one else did before :P

Anyway, I've updated the first post with the new rules. Thanks for bringing it up.

Come on Man. He clearly asked about power mods, & you clearly replied about power mods. Read your own thread/posts & quit backpedaling already.

To me, taking a car that would otherwise be a 4.0xx & applying a slight weight reduction that would make it a 3.9xx would be handicapping yourself unnecessarily.

I beg to differ, but alright. I won't take the discussion further because I think it's quite cleared. If you want a P1 position just for the sake of it, do it with a car that adheres to the rules. The '54 Corvette time is pretty easy to beat.

EDIT: One of the main reasons I won't do it is because it would require me to redo the whole leaderboard from scratch with all the power and weight figures. However, if you'd like to do it and PM it to me and I'll post it, that would be great. Otherwise I'm afraid I don't have as much free time nowadays to spend redoing the leaderboard.

I did adhere to the rules, according to your post.

If you want 3 P1 positions simply by eliminating my times, so be it. It's your thread. You just might want to add that the rules are subject to change at the whim of the thread starter.

Otherwise, it seems to me that all you would have to do is reinstate my times, & then accept any other times that are completed within the rules according to your posts.

If you choose to change the rules, so be it. If so, good luck with this thread. I'm guessing it will go nowhere.

Seems like it would be alot easier to admit that you're wrong, & open the thread to a little creativity.

FWIW, I also have P1 times for 3.000-3.999 & 4.000-4.999 in the bag that I haven't bothered posting, knowing that you would be butt hurt.
And a P3 time for 1.000-2.999 in the Cadillac Cien with all the mods.
