With GTS PD introduced a new game model, which allowed it to be released early - if they had stuck to their previous approach they might have missed the PS4 altogether. For this reason I think the next iteration of GT could release early in the PS5's life - i.e. as a compact game (like GTS) followed by years of DLC adding tracks and cars.

It wouldn't surprise me if the next GT was pencilled in as a PS5 launch title.

What I'd like to know is how much the new wheels will be, as no doubt my G29 will not be PS5 compatible lol.
I would be surprised if any of the wheels that are PS4 compatible would not be compatible with the PS5.
With basically GT SPORT being the only PS exclusive racing title, X BOX much closer to being the same as the PC and the cost of the wheels and pedals these days if Sony does not tread lightly when it comes to compatibility of controls they could alienate a lot of racing game fans to go strictly to other platforms.

GT sport is the basically the only game I play the requires a playstation, if the PS 5 required the additional purchase of a new wheel and pedals I do know I would not buy the system. Every one has their own opinion of course.

I'll move to PC in any case when PS5 is out. I didn't see it was a fake PS, I thought it was the true one. If it was the true PS I would be angry because Kaz always made 2GTs per Playstation. And it just makes more people playing it in this way.
Come off it. Two Gran Turismo games this gen without any form of reveal by now with the next gen next year? We knew GT6 was coming a long time before it arrived. The argument was about it being PS3 or PS4. It is too late for than now. The next GT will be on the next console.

I see some PC interests here.
To anyone interested I can build you a console beating PC for near $500, all new parts full manufacturer warranties that will run most new games at mid-high settings. PM.

As far as the rumor mill, I agree and think the next GT will arrive shortly after next gen does. I would assume Sony is leaning on PD being one of their premier devs to showcase the new hardware.
Then again, we thought that last go round.

And for the price of a PS4 PRO you play games that are the equivalent to mid-high. So your math doesnt do its work.

Sony already said that the PS5 will be out for next Christmas. It would make sense that it releases on, or around Black Friday (at least that's what they'll shoot for). That means November 27, 2020,

Given what Gt Sport is, as in it's not quite a "full" GT, it is possible that they release around the same time. It will have been be 3 years since the GT Sport release at that point.

Yup, and all the PD have been showing of the new GT7 is in 8K, which we all know isn't a PS4 thing.

There are several people who correctly guessed the release date of TLOU2 and that's simply because there was a 1 in 4 chance of them being correct. Erebus has zero credibility.
Having said that, GT being a launch title or close to it, is very likely.

8K, hahaha, lets be realistic. PS5/scarlett 8k support doesn't equal 8k games. At least let's hope not. I'm already praying devs concentrate on 1440-1800p with cb or some form of upscaling and higher frames rather than the 4k/30 that they're hinting at.

I hope they include all the cars and tracks from GT Sport in GT7 from launch. It was kinda dumb that they didn’t do that with GT6 and GT Sport. They could’ve saved these update for new-to-series cars and returning standard cars in premium glory.

genuine rumour

Wouldn't that be an oxymoron? It ceases to be a rumour once confirmed and it can only be confirmed as genuine. There have been plenty of rumours and leaks about the next 'possible' GT and without a GT7 sub forum it's only natural that they would end up here.

"Rumors on the NEXT Gran Turismo"

2 pages and 43 posts in, there is still not one genuine rumour about the next GT instalment. What on earth is the point of this thread, especially when so many other threads have the exact same recycled and speculated content?

Maybe the mods know more. Let's ask them about it, err, just to be sure...

My guess: GT Sport launches 'enhanced' with PS5 and both generations (PS4/PS5) will be completely compatible with online play and Sport Mode.

GT7 will come later and will be the more traditional installment while GT Sport keeps running as a GAAS model with true e-Sport focus.
Hm, seems pretty unlikely that it'll come later, what with Daiki Kasho having done new music recently at Nightbird. I really doubt that he's saving it until 2021 or later... well, unless development delays happen, that is, which are, indeed, likely.

If we're gonna throw guesses in here, then here's mine, and it's one I have been betting on for a long while. I think they're going to rebrand and relaunch Sport into GT7 next year, with one huge update bringing classic tracks and other highly-requested stuff, along with whatever else Daiki and the other composers have been working on. This actually kind of fits into the fact that they're still going to update Sport well into next year, really.

But of course, I could easily be wrong and it may end up as a separate release, for obvious profit reasons.

I think GT7 could be the same rendering engine but with ray tracing and a few other things.

A track path editor with buildings could be a new feature as part of the tech PD has shown lately.

I hope “GT7 will be a launch title” is UNTRUE because I’m getting sick and tired of these rumours about GT7.

I’m happily enjoying GTS, the FIA world tour banter and the latest “FREE” updates and I DO NOT see GT Sport ending any time soon, not even next year or the year after or the year after after.

And last but not least, can’t wait for Laguna Seca and what more future updates will add. :)

Oops, the said thread just got shut down....

I completely agree with your guess.

That's a little too optimistic there, really. o_o

No offense, though.

What exterior? You could add wings and wheels, thats it. It isn much of customisation. If you want to customize, then i think NFS is the right choice. Minus the physics

I recall there being more than just wings and wheels in GT6, at least for some cars. Some had more radical changes available, like the accessories for the El Camino. But I recall there being lots of flat floors, diffusers, and stuff like that.

Why is there so much interest in the next game when the current game has no defined endpoint?

People desperately want another 'classic' GT game, especially after Polyphony flipped them the bird for the vast majority of the lead up to GT Sport's release, the first few months of release, then did an about face and realized how stupid hitching all the horses to making an console iRacing derivative was, and is now trying desperately to patch that burnt bridge back together, and muddling what the entire point of this game was.

I mean, I could care less. Evidently the straight up lying in the GT5/6 era from Polyphony, promising the moon in terms of features and either half baking them, not delivering, or delivering it months or years after the fact is over, but it's obvious that now it's replaced by the idea that Polyphony is stuck with trying to appease the people who want a classic GT game, but also desperately want to shed it aside and move onto something new. Leaving us with GT Sport in it's current state.

There are no guarantees that the next GT will be much more classic than what we have now. After all the content that has been added post release, GT Sport has grown to feel roughly similar to GT5 and GT6 even though a few things have been simplified and taken out. Those expecting a classic GT experience like GT4 are probably setting themselves up for disappointment. I know Kaz has recently said some things giving small glimpses of hope in that direction, but Kaz has said many things over the years that didn't materialize.

This is not what I wanted. I wanted another GT on PS4. If this is true, then most of us are ****ed up. I think I'll move to a PC next year. Everything is cheaper and I have some friends which have good PCs. I'm not going to spend 499$ in a console only for playing GT which is the only good PS4 only game imo.

Probably next GT game will be on PS4 as well if it is releasing on or before 2021 as there are lot of players still on PS4, PS4P. Something like on PC where the game gfx and performance depends on the hardware. The game will probably run at 1080P medium settings on PS4P and 4K with high or max settings on PS5. PS4 would be 900P low settings.
