Do you think there will be a Maserati in GT5 Prologue?

I randomly scanned youtube a late night when i found this interesting promo video of the Maserati GranTurismo.

It looks a lot like Gran Turismo graphics. The music is very much like Gran Turismo trailers. The camera angles are very similar to the ones promoting Gran Turismo 5 Prologue and there are a few hints like "It's not a game, It's for real".

Well Maserati will be in GT for sure.
First: Its an important brand for Ferrari.
& Second: We have already seen that dev pic with the Spyder.

This here is just a little joke (the "Its not a game").

You guys are aware there are people who work with 3d models other than Polyphony, yeah?

Unless there is explicit video that confirms it to be GT5p - for example, an in car race around one of the tracks present. Then there is very little chance it was created with that engine since 1. It's a lot easier to create a video with a model than a model inside a game, play it and record the results and 2. Maserati have the money to employ the kinds of people that can create such wonderful models.

Even if PD has created a Maserati model I would be surprised if they used it - a much better model could be created with everything Maserati wanted reasonably easily.

For example:

Edit:

That said, I would also be very, very surprised if Maserati weren't in for the reasons listed by Ace in post #5.

I think I saw this vid several months ago, maybe even a year ago or so. I think it´s just a promo video for the car.
Look at the pics here and you´ll see that many of them are in the same vein. Klick here to see a promovideo on Maseratis homepage. This is the real car though, but the music is in the same spirit. Even moreso in the promovid for the S model.

That 'Vette render is great!

@Music: I dont have sound on my PC right now but i could imagine its some sort of acid or fusion jazz? If yes, its no wonder, it just fits to the noble style of the car.

But the corvette's in that video doesn't look anything like Gran Turismo in any way. Except it's a car. The Maserati commercial have something to do with the game, maybe it's not an official Gran Turismo video but a Gran Turismo spoof. The camera angels, graphics and the music is too similar to be a coincidence.

That second video is splitted in two parts. First half is with Gran Turismo feel, second half is more reality feel.

I know where youre coming from but imo youre also reading to much into it. ;)

When someone now tells me this sentence is not proper english i will be ashamed! lol

What about the 2004 Maserati Spyder...remember a while back some photos were taken by a guy who got a tour of the PD studio etc...Remember the pics they took doing sound checks and engine recordings..Im pretty sure that confirms something.

mmmm...post above me... took too long to post this :P

You are late 2 minutes buddy! hehe

By the way Maseratis are like Ferraris.. they the same family right? So no reason why it should not appear in game.

It'd be funny if Forza acquired this car. In fact, I think they might avoid it for that reason, leaving it open to PD.

So are Alfa Romeo and Fiat. Both have been represented in GT before, but not Ferrari or Maserati.
Same goes for other things: Audi, VW, Seat and Bentley have been in, but not Lamborghini, Bugatti, Porsche or Skoda, whom also are part of VAG. Cadillac has been represented, but not SAAB, and so on.

But the Ferrari/Maserati relationship is VERY "close".
There shouldnt be a problem and i am very confident we will see Maserati.

Yes Maserati and Ferrari are like BLOOD brothers. All PD needs to do is change the HOOD, and STICKER lol. and you have a cheper Ferrari called Maserati.
VW and LAMBO... well they are not ... sure under one name.. but its way diff sub division or whatever you call it.. Bugatti.. we might have it in game since KAZ did mention to one INTERVIEW, Yes we might see them all.
Look @ my post Nox. ;)

HEH! you got me! but hey you never show the pic, so who knows what were you talking about:sly:

heh 👍

BUT!

PD did take sound from Maserati, there is a proof on the net.. https://www.gtplanet.net/new-gran-turismo-5-development-images/img_2121/

Indeed. From this thread, for those who missed it the first time:

https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=112277

And not just sound, they've got cameras as well:

If Maserati aren't in the game, then a load of PD developers obviously sneaked into a parking lot, hotwired a Spyder and started taking sound for their mobile phone ringtones and pictures for their computer desktops... :dopey:

The Prancing Horse and the Trident are close, and in terms of being close, I´d also like to see the Alfa Romeo 8C, wich also has a Ferrari derived engine!
VW and Lambo maybe not, but howabout Audi and Lambo? :)

I am too pretty convinced that we´ll see Maserati in GT5 though!

Just a slight difference,light sourcing isn't as sharp(could be u-tube),but no driver.
