The next one can be this way.
Tuners can be testers too. If each tuner send his settings to only one person . This person send back one anonym car to each tuner that will host this car without knowing from who it is ( of course anonym:dopey:).
After this every tuner test all the cars hosted buy his friends including his car that only him know what it is, and the car he host too.
After this just need to process all the laptimes from each tuner for all cars.
And it's done, everybody make the same amount of driving time. Others non tuners only testers can join the shootout.
The person that first recieve all the tunes only will know what car belong to who, and reveal this secret only after everybody send his results.

HAHAHAHA very confuse this explanation, hope that someone understand what i want to mean.... Is it possible???? like this ???:):)

^^ That sounds a bit complicated :D .

I wouldnt mind being a tuner and tester though .
I think it's a good idea. 👍
Everyone would submit their tune via PM to one person, who copies and pastes them all into a thread, without saying whose tune is whose.
Then all the tuners/drivers can drive, the only car they'll know who's is is their own.
I might try to implement this for the shootout I have in mind, it can't hurt to try, right?

Obviously, as tuners with garages will want their tunes in their garage, they'll just simply have to wait until the testing is over.

The obvious problem with everyone driving each others tunes, knowing whose tune it is, is it will likely result in bickering and arguing over who sandbagged whose car, etc. I think this would eliminate that.

For me it'll be perfect ,i love to drive and test, just don't make me drive around an oval ,that make me sleep.... I've tested all the cars from this actual shootout.

It sounds like a great idea. There will be a lot of logistics and time involved if cars are required to be hosted. If there is one person who independently (not testing or tuning) schedules all of the sending, and there are two or three others doing the hosting it would be possible I think.

Praiano, CSLACR, or anyone else, if you do implement this for your shootout, I'd be willing to offer my services as the scheduler/hoster. I think I've given enough slow times to shootouts for the moment.

Excellent idea there, kudos to you good sir. 👍

I was going to say, 6 cars a host, shouldn't be a need for more than 3-4 hosts total.

I have a shootout somewhat planned, just waiting for this to end and to find out when/what C-Zeta is planning, and I intend to try this, along with power limiting...... limiting. :D

Waiting patiently then. My offer stands.

So basically a secret message game among tuners? Wasn't planning to incorporate that in my Autumn/Fall shootout but I'll see if it would be good...I'm planning to be a tester myself for it but as a tuner myself I might give it a try...to be fair though my shootout system is already complex as it is. :indiff:

Since I've finally got you, when about are you planning on having this shootout, maybe PM me some details, as I'm pretty sure they're totally different, but I don't want either to get in the way of the other.

Have we heard anything from some of the other test drivers? I know we still have time but it would be nice to know they are at least still committed to driving the cars.:)

Is Slipstream still a tester ? he hasnt posted ITT since the shootout began.

I tried to send him an fr on psn and if I got his name right he hasnt accepted yet.

Digital Baka has been on testing and I assume smalldave has begun as hes been on GT5 .

Not that im spying on anyone lol

RVR 525PP Shootout-

ACSR421’S Audi TTS- 1:32.682
It’s a tricky to drive, typical Audi, safe and steady, with a lot of understeer, and rather…normal. Boring.

AssassinTuner’s BMW M3 (’04)- 1:32.053
Balanced to drive. Not much oversteer, no understeer, quick steering, sharp turn in, all the right stuff makes this a very good car to drive, corner like it’s on rails. A very all round car.

Bigberry’s Lamborghini Countach LP400- 1:32.363
Typical Lambo. Looks, feels, sounds very fast and dramatic, isn’t. Nice to drive though. Plenty of grip and plenty of fun in the form of some oversteer. It’s also very unlike a normal Lambo in the respect that it is very predictable as well. It won’t snap away from you in an instant, you can tell what it’ll do and when it’ll do it. A very pleasant surprise from an old bull like this.

CSLACR’s BMW M3 CSL- 1:32.834
AssassinTuner’s M3+ <insert big number here>. More fun, more stable, and a lot more grip. So much that when I fell off the track at Rainey, with only one wheel on the track, it still had enough grip to not spin out and it just painted a single stripe of rubber on the tarmac as it scrabbled back on to the track. An idiot-proof car. Also one which is challenging enough for the ‘Alien’ fast drivers of this world.

CyKosis1973’s Caterham Seven Fireblade- 1:37.146
Telepathic, that’s the word I’d use to describe this car. I’ve heard a lot of horror stories about this car being a pig to drive, but I think it’s more an issue with the driver rather than the car. You need to adapt to the car’s reactions. Because this barely weighs half a ton, the slightest twitch will mean that you’ll have lost some speed or it’ll have been unnerved. It’s about carrying momentum into a corner, and you can’t do that by hurling it in. Just suggest the direction change, just nudge the steering slightly, and it’ll go.

Dr_Slump’s BMW M3 (’07)- 1:33.749
Understeer. That’s the biggest issue with this. Ignoring the steering, which feels heavy and blunt, the lack of feel through said steering, the lack of grunt, ignoring all that, the biggest issue is the understeer. You can’t stop it by means of gunning it or being aggressive, it’s just too woolly to be fun.

Dylans1o’s Audi R8- 1:31.936
This is good. A lot of grip, easy to drive, fairly fast, a good all rounder. It does understeer at times, but that just means you aren’t pushing it enough. It’s a very simple car to drive, no real techniques are involved. Just brake late, turn hard, and gun it.

GFxJG’s Pagani Zonda C12- 1:32.704
This Zonda has come a long way from when I first drove it stock. I remember it being very understeery, but otherwise easy to drive. Now, the understeer is just a thing of the past. And in its place is miles of grip to get you around the track and good amount of oversteer to keep you entertained.

Jackthalad’s Audi R8-1:32.091
Like Dylan’s R8. Not as fast. Both feel similar. Immense grip, corners like they are on rails. Has a hint of understeer at the limit. Still Audi-ish.

Krenkme’s Opel Speedster-1:33.094
Brakes need to be stronger. Not forgiving at limit, quick steering, can also be steered with throttle.

Madmyke’s Zonda C12-1:33.592
Good fun. Doesn’t like the Corkscrew very much. Spits you off track at corners like those. Good car otherwise.

Mafia_boy’s Lamborghini Gallardo-1:32.065
Quick. Easy to drive. Idiot-proof. Fun. Could be quicker. I need driving lessons. Good car, crap driver. (Proper review to come as Mafia requested it)

Praiano’s Audi R8-1:31.497
Stable as a house. Hints of understeer. Lots of grip. Steering is slightly ponderous, brakes still slightly too weak. Best of the R8s.

-raVer-’s BMW M5-1:34.991
Basic tune is basic. Basic is good. Quick for 1.7 tons. Feels light. Agile for its size. Likes to kill tyres. Good fun.

Shmogt’s Lamaborghini Miura-1:32.238
Needs work. Brakes are made of tissue paper. Likes drifting. Too light for its own good. Old school Lambo. Not surprising that it crashed in The Italian Job. Should have stayed at the Renault Alpine Home for Retired Supercars.

Slayer1002’s M3 CSL- 1:32.877
All round car, not too slow, quick-ish steering. Doesn’t like to drift. Not as good as CSLACR’s M3, comes a close second to it.

Temetias’ Opel Speedster- 1:33.413
Car is better than driver. Driver put to shame by car. Car has delicate steering. Needs delicate treatment, driver has anvil for fingers = hard to have delicate treatment. Ends stint in Speedster humiliated. (At least 1 second to be shaved off that time o.O)

XDesperado’s Audi Pikes Peak Quattro-1:32.297
Fastest house in the world. Supercar killer. Is a super-car itself. Doesn’t like sudden twitches, loves drifting. Most common sentence from opponents online: ‘lolololol Look at that idiot in his Pikes Peak, he’ll never get my Fezza………WTF!!!!!!!! WHY IS HE IN FRONT?!?!?!’ Trollmobile ftw.

Zero_speed’s Lotus Evora-1:31.578
Very good. Balanced handling, easy to drive. Fastest? Maybe. Saved the best till last? Definitely.

I'm still here. Had a bit of a hiccough though. I had a time that was well below what I would expect from the car, and I've realised that something has clicked for me with Laguna. I'm now going back though all the tunes I've already tested just to keep it even.

And no, It wasn't dr_slump's sneaky monkey business with the racing softs.....

(still well behind Indy and the tuners in general, but I'm happier making them public now)

Overused or not, I like it. Especially when more than one Tester finds themselves feeling like she "comers on rails" Great to gear, glad my lil Base Model M3 is doing alright.

Look forward to hearing more testers results.

Thanks OnBoy, for both testing and hosting my little Sunday runabout.

Around 4-5 secs difference in times now. It does occur to me that manual shifters might do better. I suspect you could drive it from the first hairpin all the way to the corkscrew without touching the brakes.

Hopefully you enjoyed driving the car. I wanted to make it more accessible for people. I'll be releasing evolutions of this car as time goes by.

Thanks once again...

I have this on excel but i can't annex the file ???

It should work as a running total, it'll be tough to tell where everyone is exactly anytime some cars have been run but not all.

Interesting results so far, though two of the cars I'm very interested in only have two results so far...

Tris was it by any chance the WRS video CLS linked a few days ago ?

I don't think so. Nor the one praiano showed us. Just the constant practice. I think I've done about 160 - 170 laps so far, and I'm just over half way through.

Adrenaline
What do you mean?

He's quicker then most Tester in the Shootout so far. He's got a good lead on the pack so far, but there are more Testers to post up, that gap might be narrowed a bit. He's speaking within the thread.

You really didn't get that, & needed it clarified? Nawww you knew, just fishing for some "ohh you think that's fast" WSR this, GT1 Gold that, blah blah blah.

I see you're back to your usual self. :)
