I think what makes it difficult iis the fact that its a short track, with plenty of moderate to high speed corners. The corkscrew if not taken right can slow you down too.

I think Laguna is one of the hardest tracks, I find every corner difficult and hard to see the turn-in point. When I started running laps on this track I had to pay attention to the map more than the view - the angle of almost every corner is deceiving.

I think I preferred the BMWs and Evora because they're so stable after braking and turn in nice and smooth, almost like they know where they're going lol.

Oh daammn I did forget Assassin :( I'll run his car tonight then.

I was looking getting surprised not to see it, last few cars I was thinking "okay, maybe the next one", then it was over, but no Assassin M3 :( "what am I "Chopped Liver"?" lol Cool, run her when you can, I hope she does as well as the other Beemers you Tested.

Cheers!

Just read Indys review, im surprised you had problems with the rear stepping out the only corner it would misbehave for me was the left before the corkscrew.

Driving styles differ and all that :D

Thanks Indy.

Done and updated!! thank you all, it's been real:sly:

Indy
Good stuff Indy. Thought my little Pepe (Romancing the Stone) had a little more in him, but then I'm sure everyone feels the same about their babies...even when those babies weigh 2 tons!
Thanks and just a word of advice to other drivers on my Bergmeister. Brake early its heavy and even with the fairly strong brake settings doesn't shed speed as quickly as lighter cars without locking up the brakes. Found that braking fairly heavily just before the crest coming up on the corkscrew I could shed enough speed in a straight line to let of the brakes make the turn into the corkscrew so the left wheels caught the rumble strip and then slam the throttle wide open when I heard that as I gave it hard right wheel (thumbstick in my case) the camber of the turn and dip were enough to finish pulling it around and line it up for entry into the next corner where only a slight let up on the gas at entry saw me through. Of course most of you are better drivers than Harvey Wallbanger here so I'm sure you can figure out the best lines around all the corners.:D:tup:👍

smrtbomb, you missed the braking point on a couple of corners which caused you to go wide and back off a bit with my run.....so I know a time near slumps in the mid-1.31's is in there in your hands mate but thankyou for the video and nice run, well balanced driving for the most part and enjoyed watching it. :)

*added bit* Indy!! 1.29!?!? Didn't expect that one. 👍 You drove it exactly how she's meant to be driven. All I ask is that you now try it with the power limiter at 100% and some parts on there (I'll send you the tune sheet via PSN) and give me feedback in GME!! :D

Love to Mafia I think I have a couple just sitting in the garage, and I'll take her to a larger track so she can run wide open....:sly::drool:

just check your spec sheet I knew she neutered but 30% oh man

Every lap I watched had some bad turns, it's part of being an average driver, I'll admit it's a little painful to watch your own car not nailing apex's though. :D

Just try to take it for what it is, a volunteer driver doing their best to test different cars and tunes to the best of their ability, one of the benefits of watching the video is seeing how different laps affected each cars time.

I give kudos for the submission of the video replays when the driver knew full well his laps were average, very nice to see, should help us leanr what to watch for in the future.

I've added AssassinTuner's time to my list. I gave it a pretty long session. I set a 1:31.2 on my second lap... then must have spent 40 minutes trying to beat it, only to get a 1:31.176 lol.

A low 1:31 is still great for me though. And the M3 '04... I never even knew it existed until now haha. The tune itself was a lot of fun - at the first corner I was like oh yeah I wanna drive this car. I think those CSLs and GTRs just have some magic in them that's tough to beat, I've never had much luck with the premium M3 myself :(

I'd be happy to post a replay somebody with better equipment can make into a video. Any video I make would be horrid.

I would be willing to do the same if I can figure out how to send the replay.:dunce: Even if I made a horrible video I can't seem to upload them.:grumpy:

The easiest way is to shoot the video with a Video cam.
Then copy the video to PC and compress it as avi , wmv etc etc
Go to youtube and upload it.
Post youtube video to GTPlanet post. :)

I would like to do do it from a replay file but I can´t view US replays :(

I'm uploading a 1'28"200 on the tube , no soud but can see well driving line. can do better but i let this one because of the drift up the hill corkscrew.... haha , loosing time but it was a wild sensation.
45 mega ,ithink 1/2 hor i'll post it.:)

Ok, in case you haven't noticed, I have removed my name from the 'Testers' list, as I am unable to translate my thoughts of a car onto my keyboard <---- read as, I spent too many nights up drag racing dr_slump and lost my touch for corners. Couple that to my already very tight schedule, I don't really have enough time for testing.

I'm still here. About half way through. I was planning on getting more done tonight, but damn it all did PD have to make a seasonal with my favourite racers?

Is it not possible to export a replay from the XMB in a usable format? I haven't tried yet...

Yes, very nice slide at the top of the corkscrew!👍 And very nice time.

Big thanks to the testers so far, and I'm very much looking forward to your results as well Tris. Haven't forgotten about you, buddy.👍

I did enjoy the new seasonal. :dopey: I only tried the first race, but Eiger reverse was awesome at that speed! Had to tweak the tune on my Audi TT-R Touring Car to beat it stock / RH tires. Can't wait to try the other cars.

A PAL user would need a NTSC game copy to view an NTSC replay, and an NTSC user needs a PAL disk to view NTSC replays, from what I've been told.

So the replay can only be viewed in PS3, and within one region? It can't be exported in a format that can be uploaded in youtube? That's not cool. :grumpy:

You only can view the replay in the replay theater and capture it with a DVD/HDD recorder or with a Video Cam.

Replays can only be shared within the region.

Sad but true.

WOW that's a surprise, I guess it comes with being the lone runner a day after the big grind. C'est la Vie.

Do the cars that are used loose HP when continuously used and not getting repaired/new oil?

No, part of the beauty of shared cars is they don't rack up miles.

The cars rack up miles only for the one who borrowed the car and the car lose HP too.
If that happens , borrow the car again.

Well in any case I highly doubt smrtb0mb drove more than 150 continuous miles, which would be roughly 67 laps, also known as a hell of long session for one car/track combo.

Well 9th out of 19... didn't fare tooo badly :) And like I said, low 1:31 is a very good time for me.

One thing I'd recommend in future shootouts is that the post with tuners be kept up to date with a list of PSNs, the car, people hosting other tuners' cars, and their PSNs. I think I missed Assassin's because I had the total car count wrong and thought I was done. Also got a couple of tuners/hosts mixed up at first because I was hunting through the thread for info while running the laps and writing times in a spreadsheet.

But overall it was great fun to participate in this and I learned a lot! Looking forward to seeing the remaining times and reviews :)
