Pretty normal that Race Hard is worse than Sport Hard in the rain, Sports have threads for the rain, Race tires have no threads, hence why they're called "slicks"
But I have to agree that lifting through the fast turns is key in this race.
If You're keeping F1 in mind o use the term slicks, it basically refers to any dry compound. Ofcourse in F1, they use racing tires but I don't follow any other motorsport other than F1 so maybe 'Slicks' as a term could be used across a specific compound of tire in some other racing category!

Just did this. First attempt was less than a second off then about 5 attempts later I got 2.24 something. Sadly I only have 3 golds so far in S so it's didn't mean a hill of beans to me.

For me the trick is cutting the left verge on the twisty bit then being more than a second ahead of the demo despite it having a 0.2 offset. Then you just chill round the rest of the track.

S-7 is going to be my final hurdle though I expect. I've only done S1 and the Rally one so far.

EDIT: i do have to mention I went AUTO and full assists for S10 despite normally finding Manual and assists off preferable.

So after about 5 laps in a row well ahead of the needed pace just spinning out in Blanchimont despite going almost exactly straight ahead I gave up and turned on the ASM; first lap I was too excited and missed the braking point for the bus stop, then golded it in the next attempt with a 2:23 something. Glad to be done with that and acquire a "very rare" trophy.

I just did it, started yesterday night, then this morning (did 2:26:079) and now, with several attempts every time, maybe 20-30 each time so around 70-80. Very frustrating final test for the S license. Skills that we will use on rare occasions, using hard tyres on such a wet track. Not representative of an S license in my opinion. Would be cool as a general test in IB licence maybe, with half a second more.

Just stay out of the puddles and don't be afraid of accelerating, but feathering like you were a ballet dancer at the Bolshoi when the car is coming out of the corner. Use the demo ghost as a reference for when to break and what line to follow. You can be fairly behind it and still get gold. Pay attention to the skidding sound, that's death most of the times.

Little trick to gain some time: when approaching Eau Rouge (or first part of Raidillon) don't brake, just lift the accelerator, you will get closer to the demo since he brakes before. Then brake quickly and briefly in the little straight in Raidillon to 3rd gear and accelerate coming out of it. It's tricky but when you master it you will almost catch the demo car or get ahead of it if you already were on pair (i never was).

S-10 I did about 300 times and failed by either sliding off or being to slow and getting the TRY AGAIN lol
I have the game again as I got rid of it and I have being having a go I have done S-10 and trying to stay on the track not a chance about another 200 times and I actually got Bronze 2:42.345 get in that will do for me I tried to improve but it is pointless, the demo is just a giggle to take the mick out of you,
S-10 demo round the first very sharp right hander then foot down drop down the dip and touch of brake when you are at the bottom of the dip just about to climb the hill whilst concentrating on steering so you don't slide. then up the hill and continue along the straight.
In real life you have not got a prayer of carrying that much speed in to the dip and steering and the car not sliding all over the place even with TC-5 and ASM ON it just doesn't do it, I have practiced following the exact line and speed the demo does and it doesn't work you slide off, I brake on the straight just before the dip as I am going down hill I can get around easy then and I carry the same speed out the hill to the straight as the demo!
I have no gold on S-Class and never will have, The gold times are beyond my reach.
I cannot do IA-5 Bronze cannnot do any better, IA-8 Silver I swear that gold time is wrong it is impossible! IA-9 Silver can't do gold as I am not good enough. IA-10 Bronze that will do it is on the nurburgring and I hate that track so Bronze will do, also the car is as much use as a boat on ice.

The test is kind of relevant for driving on a drying track if you change to slick tires.

Took me 70 km and around 10-12 attempts but only 3 finished.
First 2:29 then 2:27 then 2:24.
No assists and before the curbs patch
Since then I skipped it but I will surely go for 2:22/23 one day

Around 10 restarts because of Eau Rouge. Then nailed the rest of it, 2’23.7XX. Heard people talking about it quite a bit so expections were relatively high but it went fairly smooth. All S and all gold done.
Same here, once I masterd the little lift on eau rouge and made it on to the straight it was ok, then came the third last corner, the high speed one.....that made me restart just as much as eau rouge lol, but winning that last gold one was awesom

Yes it might be relevant in specific situations like the one you mention but I don't think it's representative of a Super-licence ending test, should be a test where you have to use a whole range of skills. As the text says "use all the skills that you have learned", and really it's not, you are using different skills for a special situation.

Never give up buddy just do the best you can! We are all different skill levels and that's ok.

This is probably one of the most difficult things I found in GT7. I use controller and automatic, but turning on ASM for the first time in the game it really helped.

Even after the patch, this test is still a nightmare for me. Finally able to gold the other Super Licenses but this one lol. I keep trying to go for the curbs and forgetting this is half wet.

Reminds me of the Bugatti test on GT6 that's a tough one two. I mean comfort tires really? So if i turn off assists it would be seemingly impossible.

Urgh first attempts at this tonight, after an hour and a half I'm 0.6 seconds away from Gold, but the clock struck midnight so I'm off to bed.

Indeed this exam is tough probably more so on controller. Like 20 tries or so haven't even finished a lap, tips, suggestions?
Turn on track indicators..... the orange line is in the dry bits, Cheating? Maybe, but there you go.....

I am not a hardcore GT fan and I don’t think there is a chance I will become one. It all started with GT Sport on PS4 - first with a PS4-controller and then eventually buying G29 (+ Playseat Challenge). It was really fun playing GT Sport - got gold on all license tests, all missions and almost all circuit experience tracks. And then I was hyped to buy GT7… I bought it 3 weeks ago. It took two weeks to get all the gold on everything up to S-10 just to get a big “#### ###” from PD. I have been playing it almost for a week now, 2-5 hours a day. My best is 2:26:760, once(!) I got 2.27:something, if I am lucky + rinsky, it’s 2:28:something. If I drive carefully (not risky) it’s just > 2:29:something, otherwise it’s “TRY AGAIN” and some nonsense from that annoying guy suggesting to watch that demo. I think I already tried every possible combination of settings, the AT/ABS/TCS3(or 4)/ASM/CS-strong/FF10/Max-EV/HDR works best for me on PS5+G29. I see that some people suggest using a PS5-controller to pass this test, but it feels really weird to take the S-10 test on a controller after obtaining all other golds with the wheel. I am already tired of grinding that track. Each section of the track can be taken fast enough, even faster than needed. But all of them? There is always something, too much randomness. Is it challenging and fun? It’s as challenging and fun as getting 6,6,6,6,6 by rolling 5d6 dice. I give up useless grinding. I am so pissed off by the game, that I don’t even want to play the rest of its so-called “story” knowing that I can’t beat the game. I wish I knew about S-10 in advance.

I’ve also been stuck on this one for at least 40 laps. It does help when you realize you can see the water and avoid it.

You're letting it in to your head. S10 was, for me, the easiest in the entire S license section.

Turn on the ghost and learn to pretty much flat out Eau Rouge by cutting over the left curb at the beginning then light breaking before the ascent of the crest. you can be 2 or 3 seconds ahead of the ghost and the ghost is ahead of the gold. You then just follow the dry.

Turn on ASM, TCS and oversteer assistance. But for me it's all about getting through Eau Rouge in quick time.

I'm not sure if i can share a replay but if I can I will. Trust me, I am average at best at this game and I got it. Just chill and, dare I say it, breathe.

The section through Blanchimont is killing me. Can't seem to get through there without driving at 50%... think I'm still 2 seconds off gold. Turned the driving line on because on the shaded parts of the track I can't actually see the dry line, that helped. Then turned on ALL the assists and although I span less often it didn't really make me any quicker.

All assists will actually cost you time but there is a lot of time to play with if you give yourself a decent start through Eau Rouge and you can only get that start reliably with the assists on. You are then less likely to throw away a good attempt if you keep the assists on.

Pretty much this. Once I learned how to nail this part, the rest was easy. Blanchimont is still tricky, but by conquering Eau Rouge you can be ahead of time and just coast the last quarter of the track safely. I was ahead of the ghost until just after Stavalot.

How are you guys ahead at Eau Rouge?! I can catch the demo ghost by then, but my launch from La Source is gapped massively by the demo ghost.

I've tried 1st gear, second gear, TC1, TC 5, I just can't seem to get around that corner and accelerate out at anywhere near the same rate.

I just shared my lap but sadly this is without the ghost. I added tags CamPatUK & GTPlanet. It's not a great run but you'll see that cutting the corner allows for a flat out through Eau Rouge which you might not presently be hitting. I think I was normally a couple tenths behind before this but I then am easily ahead by the chicane after the straight.

I only managed when I turned the counter steer assistant (? Is that the name?) on and then it's relatively easy.

Beat it 2:24:993 the other day....took me less time than the S7.
TCS was on 1.
When I hit gold I actually was surprised since it did not feel that fast and the run was far from perfect.
Feeling the track with the DS5 (don't have a steering wheel) was essential.

I tried now to play it with DS5 instead of G29. It's like driving a different car. Definitively much easier to slide... I can "easily" recover with DS5 in cases where there is just no way I can recover with the steering wheel. It's much harder to catch slides with a steering wheel. There is even a topic about GT7 & G29 ( https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/logitech-g29-settings-for-gt7.404911/ ).. Other then that I need to learn to drive with DS5, the wheel sucks in S-10 but I enjoy it much more compared to DS...
