Sardegna WTC800 grind cars, what do you use and what are your favourites?

I use the Mazda 787b and Nissan R92CP the most. I have also used the Jaguar XJR-9, Sauber Mercedes C9, Bugatti VGT Gr.1(my first grind car, now retired) all with great success.

I find the grind easier in hard mode as you run into traffic less often. Try it, if you don't already.👍

Grinding for me only makes (at least a bit of) sense when i can enjoy myself (at least a bit).

So the answer for me can only be Gr.3 cars or some oddly tuned street cars. :)

There is an old thread, but the idea of it still lives:

I hadn't done Sardegna for quite a while, but @praiano63 just made a tune for the Mazda LM55 VGT (Gr.1) and I gave it a try. Fast and great handling car that does 1 stop on FM1.

I started with the Valkyrie and now I use the MP4/4. I wasn't doing fuel runs with the Valkyrie but with the McLaren I can do it in one stop. There's a lot of cars I'd like to try though: The F1 GTR, McLaren VGT (Solus), and some other classic GT1 cars or older prototypes.

I'll have to try running it on harder difficulty!

I tried the LM55 VGT with a tune by praiano and indeed it was pretty good. Might've been an old tune, but I use many of praiano's tunes, sometimes with a bit of a tweak coz of PP changes.

I haven't had the opportunity to buy the McLaren and hope to try it as soon as it becomes available. I have got and tried the McLaren VGT, it wins but is not as fast as my Mazda and Nissan. The Valkyrie wins but is rather hobbled at 800PP, but I used it full power with no tune to win the weekly challenge. Beautiful car straight out of the box.

Definitely try the hard setting if you are trying to better your lap and race times. The bot cars don't get in the way as much. 👍

I like my grinding to be an easy as possible, so the 787b was my go to for a while, easily lapping the entire field. Lately I tend to use the Gr.2 Nissan GT-R GT500 ‘08. It’s slower but more relaxing, as it takes longer to get through the field, but a result they’re more spread out, and I only have to pass most of them once.

Lately I've been using the Peugeot 908 because I was given it for free from a roulette ticket. It's a very stable ride and has great fuel economy, you can go about 12 of the laps on fuel map 6 without a single pit stop. Only thing you need to do to prep it is buy RH tires as it comes with RMs by default, and then set the ECU to 70 and the ballast at 199.

I think I have this car and will try it out.

I've used the same car since day one of my grind oddysey...the Nissan Xanavi GT car. It's the car that earned me most of the hundreds of millions of credits needed to collect all the cars and since then the millions needed to buy the different color variants of cars I choose to collect. Grinding Sardegna is also the only thing I've used that car for so it's odometer is a nearly exact count of my grind miles - around 31,000 at this time.

I don't know this car, but it sounds like I need to seek it out.

I don't think it's anything particularly special. It's certainly not the fastest option. I finish the race in something between 25:45 and 26:10 basically every time and usually about 1 minute or so up on the 2nd place car. It's just the car I started with and I decided I wanted it to be the only one I used for the purpose.

I haven't done this race for a while, but I remember, that I did win this race with a swapped and tuned up F40(a bit challenging) and those cars with swapped Gr1 engines: Jaguar XJ220, Mazda RX7, and the two GT-Rs(not so challenging)
