I'm waiting till Sunday night, I got an out of place car but that's it. And the only car I've seen with plates that aren't in the area are from Ontario...an hour drive.

Similar to daan's post, this isnt that blue but it does 0-60 in 4.5sec

You can tell its not silver by comparing to the silver civic and the silver LS430 beside it

Its this shade of blue

Hmmm. I don't think I'll be entering this week.

We don't get license plates from any distance here, so I'm out of that category.

As for the red car - the only remotely valuable red car I've sen is a ~$NZ100,000 E-Type Jag. Easily trumped by a near new Porsche or Ferrari.

Fast blue car - ain't seen anything special in that department either.

Can't even remember the fourth category...

Maybe I'll have more joy next week. :indiff:

I've had a hard time finding everything, but I plan on posting on Monday. I was really mad the other night because I found a good example of a fast blue car, but then I remembered the modification clause, and I had to give up...

ok I got a pic of another sky-blue car. And this one is faster

Hmph.

Well today I saw a blue turbo Porsche (that'd be faster than a 360, right?) and a red late 90's Porsche.

Didn't have time to get a photo of either, even if I did have my camera.

Roll on next round!

My FINAL ENTRIES

MOST VALUABLE RED CAR
Ferrari 360, $150k-ish

LONGEST DISTANCE
N/A...yet

FASTEST/QUICKEST BLUE CAR
N/A...yet

OK, disregard this, since people are the scourge of the earth.

The Ferrari and Maseratti do no count, they were in a dealership.

Okay, my entries:

MOST VALUABLE RED CAR:
2003 50th Anniversary Chevrolet Corvette; About $50K brand-new, priceless in the hearts of many...

FURTHEST LICENSE PLATE:
New Mexico to Grand Rapids: Nearly 1500 miles

OUT-OF-PLACE:
A 1993 VW Fox GL Coupe; Extremely rare, furthermore in good shape, and its parked outside my Job.

OK, I'll get my finals up.
I was away for the weekend and didn't get any spots.

Most valuable red car - R32 Skyline, non-GTR.

carspot001ek0.jpg

Furthest License Plate - Victoria, BC, to New Mexico: 2927 KM.

And that's about it, folks.
(PS, I was calculating from Victoria, BC to Roswell, NM because it was generally in the center of the state, and on the map.

Most out-of-place car- Gallardo in front of a Mazda dealer.
DSCF0105.jpg

Now, that's not quite right is it Danny

That Gallardo is obviously in a car park next door to a Mazda dealer. JCT600 Mazda in Leeds i believe - which happens to be next door to JCT600 Ferrari/Maserati/Lotus/Lamborghini dealership. So your Gallardo is outside a Lambo dealer - ie not 'out-of-place' at all ;)

Depends where you stand Dan.

:/

Also, there's a Lambo dealer there? I missed that altogether!

This is where you standeded:

Ok, i'll give you that, there's no Lambo franchise there - but it does sell Ferrari, Maserati etc. An exotic outside an exotic dealership isn't out of place ;)

MOST VALUABLE RED CAR: who autocrosses a 360? Some wealthy Michigander, and Joey D got the spot. I personally can't tell the year or transmission of that car, but 360 Modenas are averaging $142k these days, easily beating the (admittedly valuable) Skyline.
MOST OUT OF PLACE VEHICLE: who autocrosses the largest car since stagflation? What the hell kind of autocross was this? Joey D gets this one too - anyone who's ever stood next to - or fully laid down perpendicularly inside of - a Caprice Estate knows why.
LONGEST DISTANCE: western states came up big this week; who knows why. I'd submit that Bubble Bunny's 300C SRT-8 spot could be a contender in 'most out of place,' too, but it wins this on virtue of distance. Who knew mormons liked speed?
FASTEST/QUICKEST BLUE CAR: I've seen silver 360 Modenas, and I've seen light blue ones, and Bubble Bunny got a photo of a blue one, edging out daan's 911 spot. When I created the category I was thinking 'true blue' but I suppose you can't argue with technicalities.

So Joey 2, Bubble Bunny 2 - for a tie! I'll let you guys figure out what happens now...

And by the way Danny - nice try attempting to fool us on the Gallardo spot. :P

Oh, a tie. Ummmm?

Should there be a photo of the day shoot-out?

 No idea.

Maybe this thread should be more like the Google maps scavenger hunt - winner posts one category, once it's found, the next winner posts, etc.

Possibly. I think from now-on we're going to need to do five categories, just in the event of a tie...
