Ok, now I have a problem and I need help. My setup has gone crazy. It has -25 in front and +30 in the rear, camber max- and toe max+. The same setup I've tested before, but now the front is sniffing asphalt and rear is reaching for the skies. Naturally it's impossible to drive. I'm sure that the same setup didn't look or handle like this before. What an earth has happened? Picture doesn't look as bad as it does in the reality, because I'm accelerating in there.

Edit: I booted the game and now it shows figures like this
Ride height: -0.080 / -0.090
Camber: -11.90 / -9.25
Toe: +0.75 / +.075

Edit2: Now I changed setup back from those numbers and now it's not absurd anymore. Though it didn't work the first time I tried it. Some weird stuff going on...

This is very, VERY odd. Before the last patch v1.13(?), this game had a problem where the ride height values were completely out of whack. Instead of being able to raise or lower the ride height by 3 cms each direction, you could change it by 30 cms each direction. And there was also a bug in the game where such a high rear ride height had the effect of 'tricking' the physics engine into thinking the car was being 'bumped' from behind. And this bug gave you an extra 10-15 kmh top speed on the straight and much faster acceleration. So potentially, people could set lap times that were easily 2-3 seconds faster than what would otherwise be possible. Fortunately though, it was fixed in last patch (back in March).

People who had their car set up with such extreme ride height amounts, who applied the V.1.13 patch but never took that car back to the showroom, continued to exhibit such behavior. But it looks like in your case, perhaps you never applied the latest patch (doubtful) or somehow there's a new bug in the game.

I would suggest:
1. Make sure you have the latest patch applied. The game should be v1.13 (I think).
2. Go back into the showroom and see what it shows listed for your ride height. Play with it. See if it makes a difference.
3. Failing this, you may need to delete your game save and reapply the patch.

That's all I can think of at the moment.

EDIT: Try also using a different livery and see what happens!

Hi vompatti, I also suggest you report this (with pic) to eutechnyx. Very odd indeed (you can clearly see in that pic that your front suspension looks like it has collapsed entirely).

I made couple of edits to my post. But as I got the game last week I immediately downloaded all the patches so I've never even started the game with earlier patch. I've always driven with 1.13. At least for now the issue is sorted, but what if it happens again... Different livery didn't help I tried that too. But maybe it does have something to do with liveries, that's my 3rd for that car. Well there is more if you count the ones that I did delete.

I agree with Mario--I would suggest you report it on the Eutechnyx forum. This is the first time I've seen this happen after the last patch. Obviously there's a problem somewhere.

I must say, it's amazing what you've been able to do with this game in such a short time...by all accounts. ;)

Locks to me like save game coruption, can happen when the game is freezing, its freezing a lot in the livery editor.

Newer happened to me, but i think its possible..

can also be a exploit or bug, maybe you found somthing..

I se som guys online still use the pree 1.13 setups, if a 1.0 save game works on the 1.13 build then it is also a problem that Eutechnyx shold lock at.

We need a guitar, a banjo & a fiddle.

Hallelujah, I'm ready to go!

Nothing against US country music but I prefer this one. If you can play as fast as Mike, I'll do my best to keep up with the piano! :D

Jeff ... if all goes well, I'll clean the dust off my G25 tonight. Any tuning tips? I'd like to go below 1.45 in the first 5 laps I do or else I will definitely quit because of my neck injury not allowing 100+ laps per night :sly:

I've had this happen to me as well on a couple of occasions. At one point my ride height went to -0.60 / +0.60. Going back into the tuning menu and adjusting them re-set the regular values. I have been so numbed by the vast number of problems with Shift and EA s' total unresponsiveness to customer complaints that the thought never occurred to me to report it to Eutechnyx.

By the way very nice work on the liveries LUX and vompatti. 👍

I wish I had more time to put into practicing at Mt. Tremblanc, but I'm fortunate if I'm able to get in 20 laps a day. Mostly what I've been trying to do lately is get all the cars unlocked and purchased. I only have maybe 10 cars at this point.

I'll do it if you wear those tight, white pants. :sly:

Actually, I think that's pretty horrible mandolin playing (Mike Oldfield).

And Mario that's not Country, that's honest-to-goodness Bluegrass. But Ry's the man:

I was just in Nashville (a couple of days before the flooding started) & tried out a $5,000 Gibson mandolin - sweeet.

:ill: Would anybody be interested in setting up an AMATEUR league for SCC?

This is a classic case of "Be careful what you wish for." Here's a quote to remember:

Well yes. I've had lots of amazing FC races online...That's why I'm frustrated so many GTPers won't give FC a chance - they're really missing out on some great racing.

Along with this one...

Of course, the amount of experience in the car remains the most important factor.

Looks like you're getting what you asked for on both counts. And in heavy doses.

:ill: Would anybody be interested in setting up an AMATEUR league for SCC?

I nearly said this a while back.

Having just picked myself up off the floor...is this true that some of you guys are really putting in something like 150 laps a day?!

If so, then clearly there is no chance of some of us competing with that. This is one of the problems with online racing not being very competitive whereas in real racing events of course everyone has the same amount of practice time so there's no real advantage there, but of course you can't stop people practising obsessively at home.

All due respect but frankly i would be embarassed to admit i had that much empty time in my day to day life that i could accommodate that kind of video game practice...do you guys not have jobs or anything else to do :ill:

Don't take offence at these comments, I'm just a bit startled at what I've just read...but i'm glad i saw that because now i know it isn't worth my time trying to compete in the organised events.

So..i for one think it would be a great idea if we could have some races for those of us who maybe only get time to practice on the game once a week etc

... perhaps an AARP league?

Actually it's not as bad as you might think Paulzx. Every now & then the top racers will park the car at the side of the track for a few minutes to give you a chance to catch up. :dopey:

I'd like that a lot, but I'd suggest it be kept fairly informal. I was amazed at how much of my time went into running the Shift League.

You are about to brake the Concorde agreement :ouch:

There is no real prize for wining ore being fast, being part of the show is why i am competing in this event, its funn its very well organised, thanks to jjaisli:tup: and if there weren't any organised events in SCC, moust ppl wold have stopped playing this game long time ago., including me.

hahaha not to worry, i only do that amount of laps because i need the practice, my consistancy is still very low so no doubt come race day you will pass me as im facing backwards on the grass on an exit of a corner lol :grumpy:

Hey, I didn't even know Biggles was a signer of that agreement! Can you get me good seats for Montreal Biggles?

EDIT: But more seriously... I got this game in the second week of March and I was surprised to see that it says I have 10,000 miles driven! I'm amazed, but I have no idea if that's a lot. Most people look at Play Time, but I often leave the game on when I'm not actually playing. It says I have 105 hours. So am I a pro, amatuer or newbie?

Hi Paulzx, I fully understand your point of view but never the less I would ask you to consider this:

-Most of us don't have nothing compared to 100 laps a day of pratice,I can assure you that.Actually I'm pretty sure that some guys will turn on the PS3 1 hour or so before the event do 20 or 30 laps in time trial ,tweak a little the setups for that specific track and go online to the event-I can think at least 3 or 4 racers who usualy do this Sunday routine-and do pretty well:tup:
(I guess this actually happened in the last event with MHailwood and he won one race and came 2nd or 3rd in the other)
-Even some of the guys who have more time use it for shaving a couple of tenths more of their Personal best time that was already amazingly fast and would probably win anyway even if they only had the same ammount of pratice others do,despite for us slower racers being more confortable to think otherwise.Right alongside with pratice, skills also play a major role in this,as most of things in life. And as an proof of that if you check the top ten times in M.T. with the 348 challenge You will see that at least 3 of those players have the game for less than a month when most of us are playing it since September
-In real life there are also competitiveness advantages and disadvantages, just take F1 teams for instance, the major differences in terms of budget and consequently racing goals doesn't stop them of competing.
-This is a very eclectic group with: Alien fast racers, fast racers and perfectly average racers. So every one new who joins will most certainly find players who will match their speed and have competitive races-they might be fighting for other places than the first but competitive either way

So..i for one think it would be a great idea if we could have some races for those of us who maybe only get time to practice on the game once a week etc

Most of us play at least 1 or 2 hours 1 or 2 nights per week so send out some PSN invites,or just join one of our lobbys-they're mostly public, blessed kick out feature-do some racing with some of us and if you have a pleasent time you might reconsider joining the bi-weekly Sunday events:tup:;)

I don't think it's about practice or being competitive in the event, some people simply enjoy shaving off that last 0,01s from their time. I've never personally liked lapwanking, I get bored to it. What gives me the "kicks" is definitely racing. I haven't driven MT more than maybe 15 laps after last Friday when I was "seriously" trying that track. So far I've done 0 laps on wet. I've done everything else in the game, completed Challenge mode, tried a bit different cars, played with the livery editor and so on. But I don't blame those that do drive 150 laps/day, because I know that they enjoy it. Of course for those that just pick the game 1-2 hours before the event, it would be easier if there weren't setups to think about, but it's nice that this isn't so serious and the fast guys seem to share their setups already before the event.

Overall very nice writeup 👍 But I really have to ask about this, on what kind of times you guys race?! Even if it seems to me that I'm really late on PSN, you guys aren't even online yet. And the next day I see that you have been. I'm starting to think that we have vampires among us, they only race at nights... :mischievous:

vompatti, don't forget you live in an almost asian time-zone, when I (or arvore) play at midnight it's already 2 AM in Finland. And it's only 7 PM in New York.

Jeff, I think I'll be able to make it for this event, will try to do my race not bothering the fron-runners.

Last night I didn't join the online practise lobbies that may have existed but did a few good laps trying to remember how to race in MT and trying to understand what kind of setup could work with my driving style. Considering last night's experience I think I'll be able to run consistently in the 1.42, maybe 1.41 if I have the needed time to test setups and refine ,my lines, braking markers, etc.

:lol::lol::lol:

Yep kind of a night owl...:)

Now seriously is like Mario stated, the time diferences makes the week nights difficult to meet-I can only remember 1 night in SSV8 in which you should have played crazy late because we finished like at 2.00 am my time:scared: -I usually get online about 11.00 pm which is already 1 am for you.The same reason i seldom see Henrik online, and I never could join you in a dirt2 or ssv8nc session of you and your finnish friends:indiff: I guess we have to leave for the weekend or you have to play really late one night...:dopey:

Well I have to hand it to you guys. I hadn't logged on in a few days but I look at the leaderboards and see I've almost been shoved off the front page. Well done guys. This is going to be a VERY competitive race for sure.
