I'm truly sorry that I did not reply to your invites, just about every time you sent me one I was mid-race and by the time it had ended I had all together forgotten that you had sent me a message.

And no I haven't been hammering the TT, I didn't unlock the 355C until Sunday while you were in the last 348C event. (Phew ,Finally.....:D) I had been putting off finishing the challenge mode far too long. Since getting the 355C I have only done about 20 or so laps on Monza.

 No worries. I just wanted to make sure that we didn't have a genuine technical issue sending each other PSN messages. :)

That said, I really don't understand the decision to lock the 355 Challenge and make it one of the most difficult cars to obtain. It's not difficult to drive (although it is, (in my opinion) one of the most enjoyable. I guess 'difficult' to obtain is the wrong way to put it but you really need to spend a few hours collecting race points (30,000) to unlock it.

Anyway, good to have you aboard.

Guys I was doing some TT in the scheduled combos last night-no interesting online action was going on-and I found this car to be even more enjoyable than the 348...nice breaks overall handling very enjoyable and manageable...this really ought to be one of the default cars you have in the beginning of the player's career on this game ,instead of the Zonta,or the Enzo...💡

I think that many of the players who were driven away due to the demanding handling of the cars in this game would have felt much more confortable if they started by picking up this car instead of the harder to master beast the devs present you with at the beginning of the game.

This will be ,probably the more interesting and competitive series of all:)
Nice Car/tracks choice Jeff:tup:

Funny enough, I was just saying the same thing to somebody who had commented on my YouTube page. I LOVE the 355 Challenge. It's well balanced but just a tad more 'on the edge' and maybe a bit trickier--feistier at the limit and not quite as benign as the 348, it's just slightly quicker, although, not by much, and has probably one of the best sounding engines of any car in the game. It's one of my favorite cars and I liked it MUCH better than the F430 Challenge, the feature car from FC. From a marketing perspective, I can understand System 3 not wanting to choose a 14 year old car as it's 'premier' model. But I think if this car had been one of the 3 in the SCC Beta, a lot more people would have taken an interest. As a 'racing car', it's reduced weight, tuned suspension, superior brakes and grippy racing tires makes it handle, grip and stop better than ANY road car in the game. Like the 348 & 360 GT, it's maybe even a little TOO grippy to be realistic as it has very high limits. But you can still get yourself in trouble if you step over them.

I haven't had any free time yet to do any laps with this car (at least not specifically for this event). And I haven't put a livery together, although I do have one in mind. So I'm eager to do both. But with the Le Mans 24, Canadian Grand Prix and World Cup starting this weekend, I doubt I'm going to have much free time available... :D

... and has probably one of the best sounding engines of any car in the game.

This is absolutely true:tup:I even would go as far as saying that it is probably the best car engine sound ever in a videogame, from those I know and on the PS3-before someone starts bashing at me:indiff: -in the cockpit view ,that is.

World Cup starting this weekend, I doubt I'm going to have much free time available... :D

Didn't know You were into soccer:sly:
Be sure to cheer for the Tugas💡

I still don't understand the SCC beta. I remember thinking that the physics were not right at all - even after the various updates - but I don't know if that was just the cars it featured?

I wonder nobody has mentioned Yu Suzuki's legendary F355 Challenge game (Arcade, DC, PS2) yet :sly:. Simulation@Arcade@60fps 👍

I would like to join you again but let's say my "car" is still under investigation and not allowed to get on "track" :ouch:

Doesn't the beta have the same physics as the final game?
Most of the updates have been released for the beta, too and it should still be playable together with users of the retail game.

Ohh,but I did brought that up-in the Offtopic Thread at the Social group:sly:

I spent many hours-and coins:ill: - in that Triple Screen Arcade machine...

Also owned this one for Dreamcast:

That's right Drivatar, Arvore did mention Yu Suzuki's game in the social group. Just because your PS3 can't go online doesn't mean you have to be 'anti social'. :D

Looking at the YouTube clip, it actually looks funny seeing the 'old' Chicane at Monza, I've become so used to seeing it in it's current configuation. I don't remember if I ever mentioned it but I was at the Italian Grand Prix at Monza back in 1996 and sat at that chicane when they erected those make shift tires to keep drivers from cutting. About 15 laps from the end, Schumacher, in the lead and about to win the first race for Ferrari on home soil in 8 years, clipped the tires and all 2000 people in that grandstand collectively gasped and then let out a sigh of relief. It was the most comical thing I've ever experienced at a race. :D

Jeff as I know You're a Shumi fanboy:sly: I leave You this to remember those Past Glory Days:)

I think you mean this GP:

P.S sorry for the offtopic ,but I couldn't resist:dunce:

@ Arvore, 2nd YouTube clip...0:20 mark. Yeah, we were sitting about 20m to the right of that camera. :) And you can see the tires in this clip too. In some ways I preferred the old layout. It was certainly faster, both in it's design and by the fact that it was placed further down the track toward the Curva Grande, allowing the cars to build up even more speed before the braking zone. But I guess it was a bit scary during an incident, having the cars pointed directly at the grandstand.

During qualifying, we were at the Ascari Chicane--right about at the 1:12 mark. Ahhhh....Monza. :)

And who said I was a Schumacher fan boy? :D

2- 3 week cycle is a killer for me. Almoust nobody is playing SCC and in the week where's no event happening, even less ppl lay it.

Well, you can forget about any changes to the 355 schedule. :sly: Between weeding my way through the World Cup Final, Le Mans, my wedding anniversary, some important personal commitments, and my daughter's dance recital, it was a miracle I was able to work it in, as is. (I would have preferred a long break in between sessions to be honest). :guilty:

But you're right. For a few weeks, there seemed to be a rush of new interest in this game and then...*poof*...they vanished.

Just thought I'd throw this out there.....

My mentor davdig and I play just about everyday for a few hours usually between 6-9pm est. Your more than welcome to join us, I'll add you to me PSN list and send you some invites. But on a side note, I know what you guys mean. I always see the same couple of ppl on, its kinda disappointing.

Actually me and Bullie made some races last night-ego boost after racing with you Aliens:sly: -with a Brazilian folk and...Two Spaniards...yes indeed:) and since they hadn't the F355 Tuned we went for stock cars i had never played with-Pagani,599XX,etc...it was quite enjoyable:tup:

Marcus I just hope tonight You and Davidg will join or invite me to your races:)

Unfortunnely Estadios was having some connection issues and wasn't able to stay in the lobby:indiff:

Well I have to admit, for the last 4-5 weeks, I haven't had a heck of a lot of free time. And with one or two exceptions, when I've turned on the PS3, it's to practice for one of my events.

Little update on my situation (I'll post in here instead of the 348 thread, because this is now the more "current" one).

I got a reply from NF and I will send my console to them next week. They will check it out and if the problem is not caused by user (which it isn't) they will replace my console for free. It will be the same model as my old (maybe factory repaired? dunno). But anyway, all of this will still take some days for sure, maybe some weeks so atm it doesn't look likely that I will make it to the opening race.

Bad news there Lassi:indiff:
Can't you borrow one for a few weeks?
I don't want to scare you but when mine 40G fatty YOLDed(last year) they took 1,5 month to replace it...:ill: but then again this is Portugal(and they were out of stock of my model and gave me a brand new 120GB Slim:) )and they had to ship it to and from Madrid:dunce:

Wow! When my PS3 died it took 3 business days from the day I sent it to the day it was returned.

That's only because your neighbors called Sony and begged them to hurry so the Mandolin playing would stop. :sly:

Sorry to hear the bad news Vompatti! :indiff: I hope you'll be back in for round 2.

In any case, those three days of mourning never brought us back GTP_Simcoeace, the famous PSN ID that passed away with your PS3's demise. I guess ressurections don't work like they used to a couple of millennia ago ... :D

I've been lurking in the SCC forum for a few days now, and have been reading the accounts of the 348 series, and it looks like great fun :)
I am a relative n00b to SCC, but if it's okay with Jeff, I'd really like to join in on the 355 Challenge Series.

I've been playing SCC again the past couple of days, and I went online last night to practice in the 355 at Monza. There were no open lobbies at the time, so I created one, and had 3 or 4 races with 1 or 2 other drivers on the grid. I didn't win a single race last night :D And in the first race I was way off pace. But by the final race, I had managed to improve on lap times and consistency. I managed to tune a little bit on the 355 later on, and I got down to a 2'01.1xx
in Time Trial mode--nowhere near the 1'58xx record time :ill:

So I'm still quite a bit off pace, but the 355 series looks like it will be a lot of fun, and it seems like there is good racing up and down the grid order. So if you're somewhat off the frontrunner's pace--as I am :), you'll still have opportunities for fun racing. If anyone wants to practice some at Monza, I'm going to try to be there at night and during the afternoon/evenings (East Coast time U.S.) this weekend and next.

Don't pay too much attention to the top times at Monza, cpp214. Not that I want to accuse the top runners on the leaderboards of any misdeeds, but I just mean to point out that it IS one of the few tracks in SCC that gains can be made by corner cutting. A 2:01 (from memory) is a competitive time and nothing to worry about. Especially if you have limited time in this game.

In general, clean and fair racing are much more important to this series and the people who take part than ultimate lap times. So long as there's room in the lobby, and I'm sure there will be, you're more than welcome to join in.

Carl: welcome to the small but passionate universe of SCC. I know we can look forward to some impressive racing from you in the coming weeks. More importantly, as a citizen of the great state of Kentucky, home of the immortal Bill Monroe, I know I can rely on you for moral support on the mandolin front. :)

I tought that by cutting corners you'd get RED LAPS and those aren't uploaded to the leaderboards, right?

The lap times I don't get(must be some bug) are the top 3 lap times at Silverstone GP:confused:

P.S: My P.B. at Monza was done last night racing Manny,Bullie and Kemp:sly:

OK, I was wrong about this. It's California--I was thinking Monza for some reason. :ouch: I was able to fun a few quick races tonight with Bullie & Simcoeace. I'm not 100% satisfied with my setup but it's not bad, both wet and dry. But I'm happy with the car. And it feels good to get back in the 355 again. :)

BTW, I see you had some unfinished business at Mugello in the 348! :) Down in the 1:58s! 👍 What have you been eating for breakfast? ;)

Unfortunately no, there really isn't anyone who I could borrow one. Seems that most of my friends that consider getting PS3, are waiting for one specific game to be released. I wonder what game it is... :)

But let's hope it won't take as long as it took for you. Another issue is that I think that my back up was done before I got SCC, so I don't have any of the cars or the tracks when I get my hands back on a console :indiff: And I haven't ever driven with the 355C! :scared:

I did that the night before the event Jeff:D

In SCC we can send you a zip file with a data save with all cars,I think inclusively there is one in a thread in this forum...but that doesn't work out the lack of pratice problem(not that you need that much pratice:P :D).I just hope that Finnish costumer services work so well as apparently the Canadian does...3 days, hee? You can always try the Mandolin strategy Jeff suggested:idea:

EDIT:I'm sitting at this obscene hour-in Portugal at least- resisting my drowsiness while watching Le Mans to brag about my greatest did so far in my SCC carrer:dunce:

After mine 27th TT lap at Monza-The Spanish and the Brazilian guy I was racing were wiser and went to sleep:) -I managed to drop my P.B to 1,58 72:dopey: then the lap after I was 90th behind my previous time-that I already thought it was great-and with the excitement of doing such a good time I crashed at Ascari:grumpy:
But that showed me I could do even better so in mine(embarrassed:embarrassed: puts up the anti-flame suit preparing for bashing due to insane pratice times susceptible of the "get a life line of comments) 47th TT lap-after continuous and frustrating mistakes, trying to keep the maximum speed and engine momentum through out the corners and be close to quitting several times-all came toghether well, kept the flow really sweet and cracked 1,57,82 that is now(not for long I am perfectelly aware-Alan did his first go at this combo today,new-soul didn't even played it yet and Henrick,Jeff,Manny WILL MUST CERTAINLY defend their colours(Lassi is with mechanical problems:P ) World Record:dunce::dopey:
