That hasn't been announced yet. I'm still trying to get an answer as to whether these are going to be arcade races, or GT mode, or simple fast laps.

So it looks like we have an almost-full paddock: just a Mazda 6 seat left, assuming Samurai takes the other Volvo!
 
I'll snap up the Mazda seat, if it's still available :) This sounds like a blast, I love the one run rule 👍

out of curiousity...if you install a spoiler, but apply no downforce in the settings, is it still an advantage >?

I would love to have the 'look' while watching my replays !

A disadvantage. It becomes a weight and drag penalty. :P :lol: RICER!!

awesome guys, full field....lovin it. a couple of the people over at he times, have conflicts (school) with scheduling the race for the first week. so just as a sort of "for kicks kind of thing" i think sunday i will make a small spot race for the season opener just for fun, and if you participate ill award you with one point, reguardless of finishing position. no weight penalties or anything, just for fun, to pass the extra week, what do you guys think??

A little spot race to do a systems check sounds perfect.

One thought about the "no wall riding", "no advantagous ai contact" rules. Is it possible to turn on the 5-second penalty in GT mode? That way, there won't need to be a judgement call on what's "advantageous", considering it's going to be really tough to keep it clean with only one try, and never having seen the field.
 
I'm in for the exhibition run.

I don't think you can set downforce to zero, actually. At least you couldn't in GT3. I've never added a wing or driven a race car in GT4 so I don't know.

It is really a shame about the wings, because they definitely add to the look, believe it or not.
 
Crap, the 5 second rule ??? its a little wonky to depend on, if a competitor pushes you into a wall, you get a 5 second penalty, and he keeps on truckin !

Yeah, that's true. I guess it'll depend on how competitive the AI are ... if we're able to pass them on the first few turns, then it might be a good deterent for getting too excited in the first corner. If the AI are right there with us, then I think you're right, it won't work.

Hey, I didn't throw them away. I just placed them conveniently aside. I was young, she was hot. It's what you are willing to put up with so as to attain something.

well i went with the semi racing suspension (honestly) because i suck at car settings, in real life i am awesome, i wont go through the details of exactly how i set up my old integra, but lets just say everyone i know comes to me when they want suspension tuning advice, but in this game all of what i would do in real life seems to do the opposite of what i expect it to. i dont know how to set up a car for **** in this game, so i limited the tuning, sorry guys, that is the purely selfish reason i chose semi racing suspension. however, when this goes as well as it looks like it is going to and i figure out the details for it, all the GT cars will have full race suspension. that way it is a step up in all aspects not just weight and horsepower.

I think the Semi Racing Suspension is a great idea, personally. With a semi racing suspension there is only so much you can adjust which means the biggest part of your result is your driving. Driving should be what this series is about, if you ask me.
 
So I'm pretty excited about some racing. So I decided to find some race footage from the SCCA.
Came up with some good vids that are sure to get the adrenaline pumping for us all.
