Arnold Schwarzenegger is considering running, in the event that Grey Davis is recalled, for the position of governor in California. Just wondering, if he were running for the office in your state, would you vote for him?

He is a republican. Dislikes taxes. Pro-choice. Not that that actually matters, since he probably will never have to worry about signing legislature on abortion...

Anyone would be better than Davis! He ruined our school systems (not like they were in good shape before). His spending cuts are postponing a new UC being built in my hometown. High school freshmen that were promised 4 years ago that they would have an opportunity to attend a university are now left high and dry.

Just because you can make box office hits doesn't mean you'll strike gold with the ballots.
I'm a huge fan of him. But I would really, really, really like to see how smart he is when it comes to politics.
He almost sounds like a Democrat to me, but I'm an Independent. I don't care what party you're in, so long as you can do your service well.

Unfortunately they are in a lot of trouble right now. Aren't they facing the largest defecit in their history?(and in the nation as far as the states go?)
Wasn't Regan a good Govenor? If I remember right things were booming under him when the rest of the country was having problems. I could be wrong on that though.

Arnold's a Republican, but probably more of a moderate to liberal Republican than a conservative one. I think he's pro gun, which is a plus in my book.
California was booming when Davis was governor originally, because the economy was booming under Clinton. When Bush was elected and the economy took a dive, Davis tried to curb his runaway left-wing spending habits, but was unable and launched the state (again, with an economy larger than 169 countries) into a defecit that is larger than all the other states combined.

I vote HELL YES! I am a Democrat here in California and the mere thought of that lying, repulsive, corrupt, lazy sack of monkey **** in office for just one more second makes me want to vomit.
Davis is the worst Governor California has ever seen in all of my years living here. His plans to help recover California's defecit woes are outrageous. I just hope somebody exposes him for what he truly is. Anybody would be better than this guy.

Arnold speaks well enough. His accent is not overpowering.
Yeah, he's made quite an adjustment since he came here, something many people are unable to adapt to. It takes some degree of intelligence to be able to do that.
I agree - in fact, I prefer Arnold's plans for getting the state (It'll be 'us' in a matter of days!) out of debt. Oh, no, wait, he has none.
The election can happen in one of two ways, for the uninformed:
- It happens before September 4, meaning it's a 'special election' and would be the only issue on the ballot
- It happens after September 3, meaning it will be a normal election and have to happen in March, the same day as the California state Democatic primary. Since it's a Democratic primary, more Democrats will probably turn out for it, meaning Davis has less of a chance of being recalled
With that said, I'd still rather have it in March based simply on the fact that the longer Davis is in power, the more mistakes he can make and the more tax increases and budget cuts the people will blame him for. At this point, Davis is hopeless, though, to be fair, I did here a clip of him complaining about what this recall will cost the taxpayers, which is odd given what he spent.

I disagree. Have you heard him speak, outside of the Silver Screen? He has a command of the english language, and his accent is more comprehendible than when he first immigrated.
If Arnold wants a better chance at election, he needs to make his views known to the public. As long as Davis is gone, I'm content.
