LoL
If you talking about Vtec after that video you have no knowledge of VTEC.

Plain and simple, as someone who knows, that's nothing like a vtec in action. Suckers. :P

Jav
Why not just say it sounds like any Honda with a cat-back?

Because it doesn't.

-> I want to hear this Borla UEL in person:

BOOM!!!

That wasn't the engine, that was the needle bursting your bubble. ;)

Look at the wall behind the car, I'm sure it would sound just fine in person but that video is distorted by the sound coming off the wall.

Everything sounds better in a tunnel. ;)

Btw:
That sounds obnoxious.

Probably is.
For everyone but the driver. :mischievous:

I'm not a fan of loud exhaust. :indiff:

Drove one daily for 7 years I can say it really does sound like it...
I can't believe I'm gonna say this, but that Borla UEL does sound pretty good!

The brz engine is far more leveled out and progressive than a vtec day-night monster changer. If anything you guys are hearing the exhaust and thinking of the engine even though its just the pipes.
Like others, I spent enough time with a vtec DD to know the sound of the engine and this engine seems way more progressive than the vtecs (atleast a k20) and while exhaust systems with no cat on high revving engines may sound alike, the engines themselves still sound very different. Vtec engagement is a signature sound on all vtecs and the brz doesnt do that at all.

Just because you know the sound of a stock K20 doesn't mean it doesn't sound like a B16, B18, etc, etc. ;)

You also have to think of the sound they make during VTEC and not the actual switchover point. (which is what they are talking about)

Dg ding ding!! This man knows what he's talking about! To me it sounds more like a D16 than it does a B or K series, but it's all because of the point made by Turbo!

Must be me but besides the obvious switchover, the vtec always seems a bit more rough without being a deep tOne. That brz sounded deeper than the usual vtec but again thats probably just me.

Many cat backs do the same for Hondas, we are used to loud cat-less/straight piped exhaust on Hondas wich produce that ear splitting high pitched noise, but many of the best tunners in the world produce Honda exhausts that have that nice deep tone.

That sounds obnoxious.
I like it. Of course, I wouldn't have my money spent on a ridiclously expensive system, I'd have a friend design and weld up a single, straight, unfinished stainless race pipe out the back. Anybody who can build his own 1050 whp GTO in his garage is good enough to build me an exhaust.

They've been available for a while I believe.
Sweet! Any sound clips? Or was that the one posted a few pages back?

Probably didn't need to quote all the photos either. :P

What!! Are you crazy!! That car looks awesome, it should be quoted in every reply!! :P

Edit: I would've gone with 18s too, but after seeing your pics I think the 19s look very good in this car.

That's the only one I believe. Just searched YouTube and didn't find anything new.

The only thing I don't like on the car is that the bottom of the front lip is not level with the ground.

I noticed that... Can't it be corrected with some "fitment tweaking"? That's something I hated within the Honda crowd, people would install lips like that wich I didn't like at all.
