I'd like to know just how much of the ENZO is in this design.

Use anything under the hood but don't tell me the body isn't an Enzo.

I don't think there is any Enzo in this car, under the hood or not. I don't actually think it has to do with Ferrari at all this time.

We Won the FIA Alternate Cup and I was happy that the next group of Hypercars (P1/La Ferrari/918) would use KERS and be eligible to race us.

Then I realized that none of them were going to. The cost and complexity of KERS and their 1000HP had turned them into monsters, but not monsters like the 917-30 that were going to see real racing after they set sub 7 minute Ring times. I began thinking about my cars. My P 3/4 that weighs 1800 LB and has 430 HP. Dino Competizione that weighs 1300lb and has 230 HP and how much fun they were to drive and maybe how Hypercars were losing their way especially as they were never going to race in anger.

What if I stepped back? Simpler. Lighter. Smaller? Could it be that “Less is really more?” That’s what our new road car is going to be. Lighter, smaller, simpler and very beautiful. Our goals are similar HP/LB to my P 3/4 and something that is a new, forward design where it’s three wing are integrated into the form as a Porsche 959′s rear wing is. I’m calling it 003 as it’s our third one off and it will have three integrated wings. It will be Dino Competizione sized. We’re thinking CF tub, a TTV6 and a very sexy shape. Paolo will be heading up the team again and my long time friend and chief mechanic Sal Barone will be making sure it all works and Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus and it’s associates will be designing, engineering and building 003. 003 will be badged as an SCG as is P 4/5 Competizione. From the day I took the Ferrari Badge off of P 4/5 Competizione (something viewed by millions of people on our FB site) I haven’t looked back.

Will not be based on any existing car or chassis

I really don't care if body panels or engine parts are shared (or if there is nothing in common between the two)... No matter how little they share there's just no way to ignore how much it actually looks like an Enzo with that particular front fascia.

When we developed Ferrari P 4/5 by pininfarina we put our donor Enzo into the wind tunnel. We also learned a lot such as the Enzo had way to much inlet and way to little outlet. La Ferrari vs P1 is designed to produce downforce without a huge wing. I think it makes La Ferrari much more classically beautiful not to have a large wing and we're going this route as well but unlike La Ferrari we'll incorporate three wings, nose, roof and rear into the overall shape of the car. These shapes will be wings with air flow on both sides.
May or may not have played a role. Not that it matters given how close Ferrari & Jim are.

Some more spy shots.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was more of a coincidence that it looks like the Enzo. If you look at it from an airflow point of view, it far more closely resembles this:

The difference is that the SCG is designed from the outset to also be a road car, so the passenger compartment is much wider...which produces the delta shaped nose instead of the more rectangular one on the Audi. With the very conscious distancing from Ferrari, I really doubt SCG is attempting to ape the Enzo, it doesn't make any sense.

I love this thing to be very frank. Each picture of the real road car makes it look so incredibly exotic. Between this and the new Ford GT....oh man.

I would love to see SCG become a sort of Italo-American Pagani or Koenigsegg. A small company led by a passionate and charismatic visionary with a very skilled team, incredible quality, and most of all, sound financials so there are no empty promises.

The SCG 003 can only make it to the US imported as used automotive parts and registered as a kit car, but that's okay. It's beautiful, it's fast and it's engineered very cleverly. An amazing piece of kit that is set to make history.

Jim Glickenhaus can sell you an SCG 003 for approximately 2 million Euros. He doesn't want to, that's not why he created this pair, but he will if you insist. In fact, he sold a race car already that's going to the N24, and will have at least 18 potential costumers checking out the two cars displayed here at Geneva today alone.

If anybody in the US decides to buy one, all will be fine with the DMV, Jim won't get arrested at the airport.

The pure carbon road car seen here with the New York plates is in fact unregistered at this point. It's their development mule that will become Jim's personal car. I will also go up the hill at Goodwood this summer, and by the time it reaches US waters in disassembled form, its parts will indeed be used. From that point, the Glickenhaus garage can put it together with a sourced engine, and the DMV will stamp it with a kit car VIN number. It will pass emissions since their racers are running with cat converters and muffles as well.

So, about those $224,000 tail lights...

I'm on the "yay!" side of the fence in judging this car. I do envision the Enzo Ferrari in its design. She's quite a head-turner. This is the kind of car you'd lovingly want to drive the wheels off of letting it roam free. I know I'd let this baby play. Sweet car!

I dnt understand why or how the rear lights cost more than a Ferrari F430? Can someone explain?
"The windshield is made of Gorilla Glass, the same stuff your iPhone has. It's just three millimeters thick, has defogging wires and is DOT certified.

What if you want to get DOT tail lights as well? 200,000+ Euros can grant you that."

That's a mean sounding V6. Reminds me of the NSX.

Anyone else really excited about the possibility of the SCG003 vs Ford GT? Both are aero-extreme supercars using TT V6 power and focus on light weight with each having around 600hp....should be good.

Spec-wise, it'll be interesting, but I think Jim has the edge. Much of the idea behind his cars was that they could be swapped road-to-race & vice versa with little differences, mechanically. Jim's also said there are different powerplants available depending on the customer.

Base road engine is V6. W12/etc/etc are all available.

Wait, it's a V6 ?? This could end up be a rival to Ford GT.

That's just the base engine. Customers can spec different engines up to a twin-turbo V12. The race car is likely to be V6 only.

I can only hope this lives up to a stellar reputation, because it looks as clumsy and awkwardly-proportioned as its overwrought name.

The SCG 003 was black flagged at the first VLN race for being too loud.

The VLN's sound limit is 130 dB. The glorious roar of the SCG 003 was only over by just a hair. "A simple exhaust change will fix that," explained Jim Glickenhaus.

Sound limits usually exist at tracks and other car events to so that they can remain a good neighbor to whatever's nearby. (I'm going to blame those cranky-pots at the theme park for this one.)

SCG 003 chassis numbers 001 and 002 were running in 6th and 18th place when they were flagged for noise, respectively. This was the first time either car had run the Nürburgring Nordschleife, and they were still tuning the setup for the harsh historic track, according to Jim Glickenhaus. The cars were also very, very fast.

"Our best lap ([Grand Prix course + Nordschleife]) was 8:12 which is 28s faster than [the] P 4/5 C ever went," explained Glickenhaus. "That is about a 6:42 [Nordscheife] lap."

The black car, chassis 002, even kept its New York plate on the rear. Awesome.
