Hey, I'm a Mark Martin fan, and it's always baffled me that I've read about his car's likeness being used for the Taurus race mod in GT2. I've never played a version of the game with the 6 likeness, can someone hook me up with a pic?
Also, people asked about Motor Toon Grand Prix a few pages back. I DISTINCTLY recall renting it when I was about 10 at a Hollywood Video in Cumming, Georgia (I may have rented it instead after I moved to Massachusetts, but I'm almost certain I played it in GA). What I remember was a FMA intro that featured an annoying pop song and CGI renders of the HIDEOUS characters that populated the game. If I remember correctly, there was some kid/teenager who flew a plane, a bitchy princess who was caught taking a shower in the intro, and a robot character that drove a truck of sorts. There were other characters, I think there was a train and some sort of fancy black car (different from the one on the game cover I think, the criver looked a little like Dick Dastardly from Wacky Races I think). The vehicles behaved really cartoonishly; they'd kinda bend to the side when you made turns (vehicle would remain flat on the track, but the top of the car would "lean" to the inside). I was little and I didn't understand how to play a racing game, but in retrospect, I recall experiencing a great deal of understeer, probably because I never took my foot off the gas pedal (X button).
For anyone who wants to play the game, I'd advise against paying a pretty penny. It's a neat "history lesson", but it's really an over-thought kids game (too much emphasis on physics and not enough on what matters to tykes; characters and scenery). It's not ugly, but I did not like the style at all.
