Unless there's a way to transpose the 2p setup for handicap, there's no way making an AI spawn position modifier. As far as making a code that would let you take control of an AI, I don't think that has been looked at yet, if ever. The only game I know where we can do it is Destruction Derby 2.

Using the following code:
301D53A6 0003
301D5476 0003
301D5546 0003
301D5616 0003
301D56E6 0003
301D57B6 0003

should in theory work, but instead it causes unpredicitble behavior.

For reference, the values for those codes are:

1: CPU
2: Ghost (Rally only; Arcade Time Trial uses it differently. I don't know where the ghost replays are loaded in the memory, and be careful, ghosts are very sensitive to changes in car mechanicals/body and current track; changing colors or rims are OK.)
3: Player 1
4: Player 2

Okay, I'm back to editing my video of every car I'm compiled. I had to stop for a few days to get some school work completed, but now it's the beginning of my spring break. So, I'm back in business with this video and I'll also check the Test Drive disc for other cars that I may have forgotten.

While I bring that up, I guess it's safe to say that most of the cars hidden in the Test Drive disc are completed or close to their final counterparts anyway. It's funny though to notice that some cars still have their beta color schemes, even when the body is completed. I.E. The AMG Mercs, Nissan Pulsar VZ-R N1, and Dodge Interpid.

For AI car changer, I refer you to @EncounterGTR's custom race video.

For start position, use the following codes on NTSC-U 1.0:

301D53A5: Grid 6 (player's car)
301D5475: Grid 5 (player 2's car in 2P Mode)
301D5545: Grid 4
301D5615: Grid 3
301D56E5: Grid 2
301D57B5: Grid 1

Values of those codes are 0000 to 0005 - zero-indexing applies (0000 gives you pole position, 0001 2nd, so on). :)
I think the AI custom grid method only works with 1.0 and I have a 1.2 and I believe the addresses are not the same (unless I did something wrong).

For drivers who play simulation mode, there is a great way to create your own endurance events. Before you enter one of game's default endurance event, enable and set to your liking "lap changer" and "load track" codes. And that's it!

Yesterday I did a 30 lap enduro at Autumn Ring Mini Reverse against opponents from Trial Mountain endurance event. All guys went to pit at least once, except for the trickster in MGF. :P
What do you mean? Unless you're racing on hidden reverse versions of tracks or rally tracks where AI aren't supposed to race on, they should be able to pass each other (passing isn't programmed on unused road tracks). Either that or if they have some form of rubberband effect like in the easiest races (Sunday cup...), that's the only reason I can think of why they'd drive in a group.
Either each car is perfectly tuned to match other AI cars or there is strong rubberbanding in play. In kei cup for instance, I would like to see AI cars running independently, but if all cars are tuned to be equal, you probably have to "tune" each car manually via codes.

Hey @MMRivit, for the body replace code in the Test Drive Disc Home Garage, is there a certain thing I have to do when entering the code like restarting the demo or something? because I tried entering the codes the order shown and I keep getting the Mazda RX-7 A-Spec LM listed when entering something else. This even happens when I enter the code for a car that's playable.

EDIT: Nevermind, I figured it out, I was using the wrong kinds of codes.

EDIT: Note, I decided to check the Test Drive disc for the scraped Lamborghinis, Ferraris, Porsches, and Mclaren F1 GTR and of course no luck. I had to be sure though, I don't want to go through this disc missing anything.

My first attempt at custom making a nameplate..... i took the nameplate of the cconcept car from gt1 trial demo, since dodge originally named the concept car as the copperhead, but had to drop it due to a lawsuit.

Hey, not that I am bothered asking, but I would actually like to know a bit about adding the colour palettes. I always most of the time replace the wrong thing, but would like to know how to do this cleanly on my PC. I have yet to set everything up, but I think I am fully capable of trying this for the beta paint jobs that were shown in the demos.

Hey @B_rad88! , excellent job so far! Nice to see that you got the method right. That miscolored Copperhead kinda reminds me of this (at 0:45):

Good job with the wheels and custom label too.

What about the original Taurus SHO?

EDIT: More changes I found in the Test Drive Disc.
- The 1998 Civic 3-Door Si has the same color options as the Sedan.
- The 1999 Castrol Mugen NSX also has a white color option, just like the 1998 version.

Yes, thats the original sho, and the 95 model is basically a face lifted version of that, and to me looks cleaner...... i would also take jay leno's ford festiva shogun, with the taurus v6 sho swap into the rear!

Thank you for the kind words. I get the basic color palette editing, but its the minor touches and details that im still having issues with, the espace is a p.i.t.a., lol.

And the miss coloring happened to me on the gt1 trial demo on the corvette grand sport race mod, one silver, one messed up..... with brown tires, like mud brown...... (i was laughing at it)

And cool thanks, i got one more version of the copperhead nameplate, still working on, and as far as the wheels, i just wish i can figure out how to get the dish/lip, and also how to make the actual rims bigger during race like in the demos........... i hate the fact that they shrink during a race and some cars look weird to me when it happens.......

Thank you again!

Ah, I wouldn't know. I just figured they were different generations because wikipedia lists them as seperate generations.

More notes on the Test Drive disc:
- Funny enough, PD managed to finish the 1998 RX-7s, but the 1997 models aren't present. PD has an odd order in how they implement models.
- I should have mentioned this before, but the MR-S is not present and the ST205 Celica GT-Four is still missing its wheels.
- All TVR Cerberas and Chimeras are completed, though the Cerbera's RMs are sort of glitchy still. The TVR decals keep flickering.
- The Griffith 500's colors are now at the right saturation.
- The 1993 Toyota Supra Turbo no longer has its colors too bright. Though the Twin Turbo R unfortunately still does.
- None of the Lotus Elises have their RMs done and the Elans still aren't present this late in GT2's developement cycle.

I'm still in the process of recording things as I keep overlooking cars as I just remembered that I forgot to record the Tom's MR2. Anyway, my video is nearly finished with the editing.

Well yes technically they are 2 different generations, but in a nut shell, its still basiclly the same under the body........., like what honda did with the civic from 92-01..... toyota did with the camry from 92-01....... speaking of camry, i would have loved to have a 1994 camry wagon in gt2........ lol

And the toms t020 comes in 4 colors, silver, grey, red and yellow......

Well here is some screen shots of gt1 trial that i mentioned previously.....

The original name for the concept car is the "copperhead":

here is the corvette grand sport beta race mod

The first time i changed the color i got this:

Screenshot_2017-02-28-14-11-04.png

Screenshot_2017-02-28-14-11-16.png

After the game froze up from trying to buy the 1st weight reduction stage, i tried the color change again, and this is what i got the second time:

Screenshot_2017-02-28-14-13-26.png

Lol i had a good laugh.....

And hey randomcarguy17, i did find this in gt2 trial demo (its just a empty placeholder, but......) i find it odd they removed the clk gtr fully, but added the garage name for the dtm clk which didnt show up until the final as a hidden car......

In gt2 trial japan demo:

Screenshot_2017-03-10-18-16-04.png

Then i got a glitch in gt2 trial demo..........

Yup, I noticed.

I already know that...

EDIT: Sorry about sounding like a stickler when saying this, but you might want to start putting punctuation at the end of your sentences and capitalizing letters at the start of your sentence. This forum as a rule about that:
  • You will not use “textspeak” (“r”, “u”, “plz”, etc.) in your messages. Decent grammar is expected at all times, including proper usage of capital letters.

Question, what are the codes for the Rufs in the Test Drive disc? Also, what are the codes for the hidden Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Porsches, and Mclaren F1 GTR? I know they're placeholders, but I want to look at them anyway as I have an idea for making another video.

EDIT: Here is my hidden cars video.

Oh, interesting. Good thing you got a recording of it!

You don't have to link to the users profile. All you really have to do is use the @ key and then type the users name in and it should tag them, therefore they get notified. ;)
