Sebastien Vettel challenge: all gold

YAY im part of the carbon X2010 club, just finished gold on suzuka 10 mins ago. My time was 2:09.901 :D. As soon as i was .500 off the gold time the hardest thing was staying on the track and giving it 100% on the second lap.

I would find if i did a 1:06.low on the first lap i could easily get a 1:04.100 on the second lap but i couldnt keep a fast second lap if i did a fast first lap.

Yes thats what I found with Suzuka. Knowing you did a fast first lap really put the pressure on the 2nd lap. Im not joking but when I managed gold on Suzuka my hands were shaking!

This car is insane though. I did the 4hr Nurburgring Type V endurance race using the X1 and managed a 4.35 laptime. This was with worn out tyres and dodging the A.I. This means on the normal Nurburgring track my laptimes will be around 3.30. That is an insane laptime!
 
Finally got gold on Monza with DS3! Monza may be the easiest, but honestly that took me more than 24 hours of playing to gold. Obviously I had some bad luck at times and could've done it a lot faster with luck. The steering is just that difficult with the controller.

I think silver is possible in Suzuka and Nürburgring, but gold just seems out of reach. Maybe I'll get a wheel some day.

I have a replay saved for anybody interested, although right now b-spec bob is racing 24h endurance.

Yes!! I just got gold on Nürburgring with time being 2:08:920. Only Suzuka to go. This is going to be difficult.. :nervous:
 
I all get golds, i like for suzuka. im trying to restart on multiple laps on a corner without completeng a single laps. Damn! i just let my body flow on my wheel like im driving on sunday cup feeling. took me alot of laps on a corner to master until when i felt to do a complete lap and then it works.. after i beat the gold. i still continue to shave a seconds of to satisy myself knowing iam better than the 2010 F1 Crashkid champion.

After 2 hours:
Monza: gold
Nurburgring: silver (+1s to gold)
Suzuka: silver (+0.8s to gold)
 
Trying to get gold on Suzuka right now, very frustrating again! 2:10:018 just now.... so close. I'm losing too much time on that last chicane, just have no idea how to get through there fast. Been watching a few vids but I just can't do it like they do it. If I brake that late I just end up in the grass and get disqualified and if I brake a bit earlier I'm way too slow.. Really can't find the perfect way to take that chicane.
 
I just follow my insticnt with my mind power, its crazy but it pretty works on me. i just realize that i had to keep off thinking .. WHERE TO BRAKE.. WHERE TO BRAKE..(JEREMY Clarkson voice) its stuck on my head!
 
Suzuka wasn't as hard as I thought, maybe because it's my favourite circuit. :) Though I still am 0.350 seconds from gold.. I screw it up on second lap, second turn - came in too fast and car oversteered.. But still got 2:10:350. Trying to reach the Carbon club tomorrow again.
 
Finally did Suzuka!!! Awesome time too, 2:09,669! Don't know what suddenly happened in the chicane on the 2nd lap but I just went through it perfectly. When I came out of that chicane I already knew I had it. :P Hello Carbon X2010! :D

Thanks! Got the Dark Purple one for all silver. :/ Looking for a Beige or Dark Red one to trade but not many people have them it seems.
 
Managed to Gold the final one, Nurburgring, today with a 2'07.726.

Monza was easy, Suzuka reasonably straight forward, but Nurburgring was a complete 🤬.

All I can say is I'm pleaseed I got the golds for the cash and exp, but I doubt I'll ever bother to drive any of the 4 X1's I now own ever again (though the Bob's are currently hurtling round Le Mans in one of them, lapping in 3'10 in the rain!)... the X1 is not what GT games are about. It's pure arcade and IMO, has no place in a game claiming to be 'the real driving simulator'.

Why not? It simulates what would be possible with current technology and no FIA rules or whatever. Pretty interesting to see that a car could handle like this if it gets sucked to the track with such a 'fan'. Still fits in a GT game if you ask me. :)

So what if it's physically possible to build an X1? No human could stand the G forces it generates.

The X1 requires no actual driving skills to get round the track beyond a vauge understanding of taking the right lines. It requires no throttle or braking finesse... what it does require is good reactions and an ability to swing the wheel from lock to lock incredibly quickly... in the similar way to something like Wipeout.
 
Finally got gold on Suzuka also! Man, that Carbon X1 looks good :) Didn't ever think that I could get more than silver.. Kind of just made it; 2:09.889 :lol:

Only managed to bag a decent outlap tonight. Fell apart on the second lap. There's light at the end of the tunnel perhaps then.

Is 1:05.3xx a good out lap on Suzuka? It's the only one I need to gold before I've finally gotten gold on all of them.

It's a great out-lap if that's what you mean.

To get gold you need a 1'05 out lap and a low 1'04 I guess for gold overall.

I've been struggling with this all day, it's absolutely annoying the hell out of me.

I got gold on Nurburgring and Monza without SRF, but I can't string two proper laps together at Suzuka. One attempt saw me a car length behind Vettel at Spoon lap 2, and inexplicably I decided to ruin the lap. I can't wait for this to be over. Had 1'05.6 out lap and have done 1'04s as well...just not in the same run...2'10.375 best so far :(

Incidentally, I thought the X2010 was tremendously good fun at Nurburgring, really enjoyed it 👍

Grats to you as well. :P It looks pretty cool yeah, except the gear ratios aren't the same as the S. Vettel version. Like the ratios of the S. Vettel alot more. 3rd gear on the Carbon is pretty much the same as 1st gear on the S. Vettel. Hard to take corners like that since you can take most corners with the same gear (mostly 4th), just some difference in speed ofcourse.



As for times, my out laps were 1:04,200 or something like that on Nurburging (1:04,500 should be fine for gold if you can get a very fast 2nd lap) and 1:05,900 for Suzuka (anything below 1:06,000 should be fine for gold). Don't remember Monza but since I hate taking chicanes with the X2010 I pretty much cut them all there for an easy gold.

Maybe i'm an old cynic but I wouldn't take this car too seriously if I was you...I know the trailer for it and build up and such made it seem a very serious proposition but do you really think such a vehicle is possible? Take away certain FIA regs for say F1, there is no way you would end up with anything like the X1. Also unless we find some new kind of compound on a meteor or something there is no way a car could put down that kind of power without the tyres ripping to shreds

There's a reason F1 cars have evolved the way they have and they ultimately aren't all *that* restricted.

PS - Awesome run that, bmxmad! I'm grinding B-Spec to unlock the challenges but now i'm really doubting I will get anywhere near Bronze (with a DS3 too!)
 
Getting bronze is possible with a DS3, provided you have AS and TC driving aids off, and doing lots of repetition.

If you have a steering wheel and pedals, you can get the precision you need to get around those corners quickly. You pretty much need a wheel if you want to get silver/gold overall on this challenge
