Sebastien Vettel challenge: all gold

I hit Level 30 half an hour ago after a retarded grind of Indy 500.

You can buy it in the Dealerships at Level 30 for 20 million credits. I have heard people saying Level 40 before, but that is incorrect. At least according to the tooltip when you hit Level 30.

I tried Monza with a controller, and seriously, don't even bother. I gave up after two laps. It's possible, but it's just frustrating, annoying and boring.

I tried it with my G25 instead and got bronze within 20 minutes and I even had a second to spare. It was the first one I finished, as well. I got disqualified on all other laps. :P

Exactly what i said in an earlier post this thing (i think) cannot be done with a controller

Two schools of thought

The Challange is Difficult but you get that Car if you do it

And now on a Sillier note

What if PD had decicded to Have a Normal X1 Championship say over 5 rounds in the Expert Series 25 Laps a Piece at maybe level 35 , you'd all be happier maybe as this would suit the Racers amongst you , Yes ?

But and there is a But and its a BIG ONE B-Spec Bob gets to level 35 and its his Turn to do the X1 Challange :lol::lol:

I wonder how many PS3's would end up being thrown through TV's or Windows :dunce:

500 km/h. Things are going to get ugly if that's the future of F1.

I don't think this is meant to be the future of F1. It's not a open-wheel racer. It is just designed to go as fast as possible on the limit of tyre grip and human strength using technology that is out now. I doubt any human could go more than 1-2 laps with this car even if us humans trained to the limit of neck and muscle strength. However I reckon the ultimate F1 car will be this car with open-wheels and the fan element being taking away. Something similar to what PD's original concept was but slightly slower. The future however will be slower cars than we have now, the only way it will become faster is if safety can be improved significantly to allow faster corner speeds and also figure out how to overtake with the complex aero on modern F1 cars.

5-6 Gs in cornering should really be the limit for F1 cars and humans, otherwise it gets too dangerous. The current F1 cars with faster engines would make it much more interesting and will make analysing who the better drivers are easier. F1 soon might not be much faster than GP2 if they keep on cutting innovations such as the blown double diffuser and the F-duct.

In the dealership it says lvl 40 :)

And yes, it is a pain in the.... with a controller.. Makes me want a wheel so bad.

Does anyone know, if my good old Logitech Driving Force for the PS2 is any good to GT5? If it is, I might bother getting it home to myself..

I stand corrected.

I just got Bronze on Nürburgring GP with almost a second to spare. Again, didn't take me longer than 30 minutes. Unless Suzuka is A LOT harder, I think people have blown this challenge out of proportion.

It might be easier for the A-spec X1 Championship as you just have to beat Bob like drivers, however for B-Spec I would just tune the car to have less downforce and tell Bob to overtake. If that doesn't work I will just have to throw my GT5 disc and controller at PD's office :sly:

Are you using a wheel and also the difficulty is in getting all golds. Do you think you will be able to do this with enough practising?

I am using a G25. Yes, but that's not the case here. People have been saying that Bronze is very, very hard to get which is untrue, unless you are using a controller.

And no. I don't see myself being able to get Gold on this challenge.

I thought it was only / mainly the pad users that were saying Bromze is very hard to get?

Someone Mentioned in the Thread that the X1 Becomes Buyable at Level 30

As the Current Grinding Race to earn the most is The American Championship which pays 98.000cr I thought i'd be kind enough to let you all know you only need to do the Race 205 Times to Earn the 20 Million Cr to Buy the X1

205 x 5 mins allowing for loading Screen the Race and Start again = 17 hours 8 mins roughly

Oh yeah thats 1025 Laps

I am not sure. I'm sure there were some wheel users complaining, as well.

I have finished the challenge now. It's not very hard to get Bronze. However, Silver/Gold is a completely different story. And I feel sorry for the people that doesn't have a wheel.

That was me and it's incorrect. You need to be Level 40 to be able to buy it from the Dealership.

Oh well gives people more time to do the 1025 Laps then :D

well. Insane amount of experience and money for bronze. Personally, i think monza is the easiest. I got 1-2 secs ahead of bronze just in several tries less than 30 mins. suzuka was fine. But nuburgring brought me big trouble. I almost threw my wheel out of window. So many times very close time to bronze. For the x1 challange. practice, practice, practice. and be patient are the key.

So did Vettel set the time for this event? And did he do it in the real car or in the game? Iis he a GT genius or soemthing different?

Perhaps we should start a New Thread for the People who Reach Level 40 and manage to save up 400million cr to buy all 20 Different Coloured Versions of the X1

Ok 21 if you win it in the Challenge if you wan't to be Picky

I don't think this is meant to be the future of F1.
It's not. It was a concept created by Kazunori Yamauchi and designed by Adrian Newey. It's basically an attempt to create a Formula 1 car that is not restricted by the rule book. Not just in terms of aerodynamics, but everything from the engine to the power-weight ratio and weight distribution. The Red Bull X1 Prototype is an attempt to find the sweet spot where everything comes together in unison to create the ultimate car.

I agree i mean the F1A for the last 15 years or so, or at lest as long as i have been watching f1, has been trying to slow the cars down, engines toned down, turbos banned, tracks reworked, downforce removed, i mean the engineers and whatnot have done an amazing job of making the cars faster no matter what the F1A has done, but they are going to chip away at it until they cannot do any more.

The days of senna and prost when the cars had 1000 hp engines, had few safety features, the floors of the cars were made of sheet metal and thin as could be cause of weight, little downforce at all. on and on the vast difference between cars then and cars today.

But as they pushed the top speeds down, they found ways to make the cars have more downforce get faster in turns but we pretty much at the limits of what they can do with all that as long as we still have humans driving the cars.

So I finally reached level 30 last night and had a go at the Vettel Challenge.
Got all 3 to bronze in no time and got the Red Bull X1.
Today I started to play again hoping to get all silver.
First up was Nurburgring, well it took me maybe 20min to get the silver, this car needs so much aggression it's just insane.
Then it was Monza, I could say for my part that it was quite easy, gold in 4 tries only.
Last up Suzuka, OMG, even if I had a good lap I was still 1sec behind silver, took me about 30min to clear this track to silver.
Now, what did I get for silver in all tracks???

ANOTHER RED BULL X1!!! (this time different paint job)

Done with the X1 for today, maybe tomorrow gold in Nurburgring and Suzuka.
For all you trying, I use TC1 and ABS1, don't be afraid of "flooring" it early.
Good Luck to all!

Dualshock or Wheel?

man just unlocked this challenge, have gold on 90% of license test, done all other challenges with gold, but this is something else man, the X1 is so twitchy, i found that staying on the gas has helped (left foot brake) but even then after 30 mins on the ring and I'm still 14 seconds off of bronze, this is the hardest challenge I've seen on any driving game, let alone GT....

Congrats 👍

Are you able to test if the fan assisted downforce changes with engine speed? i.e. take a corner at the same road speed in the correct gear and then top gear to reduce engine revs. I'm curious to know if the fan is linked directly to the engine speed or it it spins at a constant speed.

Thanks.

I did not test it but I also did not notice any changes in grip level when driving with higher gear in the corners, only thing I noticed was that you have to drive with high revs all the time (in corners also), otherwise you will lose lots of time.
But as far as the grip level goes and the assisted downforce, I don't think it changes, but that's just my opinion :dopey:

I'm honestly terrified of this challenge. I'm looking forward to it and can't wait to try this demon car, but I'm legitimately concerned I won't be able to do it :(

Man I'm still struggling with getting all gold on the beginner AMG challenges to get the photo venue :/
