Sebastien Vettel challenge: all gold

I unlocked this challenge and was pleasantly surprised. Within 20mins managed to get bronze on all 3 of them. Returned later and managed a Gold on Monza which was fairly easy. I then tried Suzuka and getting gold on this is going to be more of a challenge. Currently 2secs off Gold but im still unsure of the ideal gears to use on some of the bends due to a lack of practice.

Got gold a couple days ago.

Nurburgring and Monza were fairly easy, 30 minute effort per track.... Suzuka on the other hand...

Spent about 6 hours on the Suzuka challenge. I had the individual sectors down but stringing it all together for 2 laps took a lot of effort. Got a +0.066 time after an hour of trying, then +0.006 a couple hours later and then -0.3xx for the gold... I probably could not have done it without skid recovery force. It's so much easier to just whip the car into the sharp corners and that hairpin (which is kind of counter intuitive as the name "skid recovery force" would suggest a more understeery handling but the car actually oversteers a lot).

Not sure if this has been posted here on the forums but the other alternative to getting the X1 instead of at least getting bronze on all of the races on the Sebastian Vettel challenge is this:

I'm at level 28 on B-Spec right now and am focusing on B-Spec right now instead of A-Spec where I'm at level 27.

It takes a looooooong time to get to B spec lvl 35... at least a day or 2 for each level once you get to 28... and some of the enduros require you to jump 2 levels after unlocking the previous one, which takes forever.

My PS3 has been on permanently since I unlocked the enduros... for the last 10 days or so I've been running multiple GV300's, Tskuba MX5's, Indy 500's and now Suzi 1000km's with a bit of A speccing during non work/sleep time... it's not exactly fun!

Wait so there are 3 different type of X1 cars? Or did you some how save up like 50 million credits and buy 2 extras ?

How did you end up with 3 of them ?

There is one X for Bronze, Second For Siver and Third For Gold. I just did bronze, then one silver and gold in Monza, So i went to Suzuka and again spend a lot of time first to have silver (and then a lot of them) but finally i did Gold. And last was Nurburgring, first Silver and received another X1 and after couple of hours Third X1 was in my gqarade as a reward for third and final Gold.

RedBull X1 S.Vettel that blue one in RedBull colors is for Bronze
RedBull X1 that Black one is for Silver
RedBull X1 S.Vettel Prototype is for Gold

My RedBull X1 S.Vettel has more horse power because i used a lot in B spec Mode and my Bob crash offten into other cars so i had to do Engine renovation.

Can I PLEASE borrow one X1 car from you?

Getting closer and closer to golding nurbug. Ran a 1:03.989 on one lap then lost concentration on the second lap and didn't hit the times in the sectors that I wanted too lol. I haven't tried suzuka yet but gold sure is giving me trouble on nurburg. SIlvering it was easy lol.

Sorry, I thought you guys were talking about nurburgring nordschleife. THAT would have been crazy.

Speaking of the Nordschleife, I've done a sub 4'20.xxx run on it using my X1 (Stock but with Racing Softs of course). I'm sure someone can get it to run much much faster than I can.

Using a DS3 and I'm

4s behind on Suzuka
1s behind on Monza
10s behind on Nurb

If anybody can gift me an X1 I'll give them anything I have...I need to practice without the stupid loading times, I just want to take an X1 into practice mode and try and run lap after lap without getting disqualified constantly.

I'll gift it back when I win my own one...its just so annoying with the load times xD

Seriously i think that you better invest in wheel, you will loose less of your life time trying. Or maybe you want to do only bronze in which chase you will gain the highest respect possible

If I get a wheel I'll be waiting for the thrustmaster but I don't think I will.

I just need somebody to trade me one so I can use it to practice. I'm sure with practice I'll get it eventually. I've spend most of my time at Suzuka and I can see my laps improving, but it just takes hours with "Disqualified"..."Disqualified"..."Disqualified"..."Disqualified"..."Disqualified"..."Disqualified"..."Disqualified"..."Disqualified"... Gets a little annoying after a while.

or can anybody confirm that you win one for level 35 B-spec?

Yes you get one for level 35 b-spec, and you get to buy it for 20 mil cr at level 40 b spec or a spec.

But there are people that have bronzed the challenge on the ds3 and think even golded 2 of the 3 with sazuka being the hardest to do period.

I know but I can't do it. I've golded everything else up to level 30 but I've gave up on this.

I could do it if I kept going, but it is getting annoying and I know if I keep doing it over and over I will just get frustrated and break something. I don't want to break something so I need to practice without the disqualification xD.

Bspec'ing to level 35 will take forever...

Got my X1 Prototype today :D
Startet the challenge yesterday with easy golding Monza, silver on Suzuka and bronze at Nürburgring.
Today i had another go and made it with 2.07,975 at the Nürburgring and 2.09,834 at Suzuka. :)

I got all golds two days ago. Suzuka was pretty tough, probably the hardest time trial challenge I've ever played in any GT game. Monza was too easy and Nürburgring was average.

ehm, how do you manage those tracks without braking (allmost ;) )... if i dont brake a hell of a lot i just bang in to the wall, grass or whatever...

The X1 handles a lot better using partial acceleration than plain braking. If you notice on my videos, especially on the S corners in the start of Suzuka, my acceleration meter is fluctuating between 50%-75%.

Also, I found that without SR turned on, braking with the X1 caused me a lot of snap oversteer or loss of traction if I hit the kerbs mid-brake. I worked my laps so I would take as much of the asphalt as I could.

Getting a nice line is the best thing you can do with the X1. Of course, driving with no assists (except Abs 1) also allowed me to get the maximum performance out of the car.

Indeed, between the first double apex corner at suzuka to the last part of degner no braking is needed in the X1, only a good line and a slight lift of throttle and that includes the kink at the start of degner which can even be taken flat out. Although a quick dab of brakes is fine for the last corner of the esses before dunlop curve.

@Jump_Ace, so basically, you tend to brake with the left foot most of the time then? I've just been watching the vids to see the braking points and gear but haven't looked at throttle and brake control yet. Silvered Nurburg with a 2:09:085 and I'm having a hard time getting gold lol. Fastest lap I ever recorded was a 1:04:0xx but screwed up the next lap lol.

Yea, pretty much just for hairpins take your foot off the gas (for a moment). Left Foot Braking (trailbraking) FTW.

I haven't seen a silver car online yet. That's why I cruise in my carbon one. Makes then look twice. The vettel has the best top speed of all though.

i cant even bronze monza, any tips or videos to help out?

Wouldn't wish to promote cutting too much but you can get away with a huge cut through the 2nd chicane, if you do it both laps it will gain you quite a bit of time. For the rest of Monza just try to be smooth and don't try and brake too late for turn 1 on the second lap as slowing down from 270mph takes a while(even with the X1).
