Senna content coming soon?

For example, just think of all of the testing and perfecting of the 1980's Brands Hatch and '85 Lotus just to match up with Senna's pole time.

I'm willing to bet, within a week, players' times will be massively faster than Senna's pole time there.

I don't think this update alone can explain the lack of support GT6 has received up until this point. If three modded versions of existing tracks and three cars can back up an entire modeling team for half a year, that's a pretty major concern. Even if there's another car and a brand new track to be shown, I'd still wonder what's up - though an entirely new addition like Interlagos would be much appreciated. More so than these re-dos currently announced, at least for me.

They're working on something else. Purely speculating from my end I would place my bet on GT7(P).

Remember Amar's "once the six skips the three, saving for the four" riddle? He was obviously told at some stage GT6 was going to be a PS4 game, so I think it's very possible they've been working on both at the same time. They started with the PS4 game, then at some point a decision was made to also put something out on PS3, so they started scaling back stuff for PS3 whilst also working on PS4.

How about that?-

If you look, the Nissan 350Z had the highest fatality rate per million for the given period of time. Uh oh PD! I wonder how many people say its bad taste to see it in GT6? I agree the fw16 and Imola shouldnt be added together with the Senna content, but theres much more deadly cars than a single seater that took Ayrton's life.
All I want to know is how much credits you can win in these Senna events?
A few? It should be at least around 1M. :D

And lets end it right there because that was the point. It wasn't about whether they are added or not, it was about when it should be added (which is again where I bought up "bad taste" so you can stop mocking me).

About the whole "bad taste" thing, and I'm not trying to pick fights, but I'm a little torn between both sides. I have this notion that if I change my perspective on the matter a little, the entire feeling that I have on the subject shifts over. Sure, it's tough to think about adding the car that ended his life along with content aimed at celebrating that life. At the same time, though, looking at it with the intent of commemorating his career and glossing over the blunt fact that his fatal encounter was within that specific car, I realize that it was the very last car that this great man ever drove and what a big deal that is.
Pretty much, I can sulk and think "this car killed Senna," or I can think to myself "I'm driving the car that Senna last sat in and did what he did so well, the last car to feel Senna's commanding touch." The first thought is depressing, but the second way of looking at it gives me this vague sense of awe and wonderment. It's all about the pitch. So many people would take it in a negative light, but I'd like to think it doesn't have to be that way.
Anyway, this car making it in is a long shot. So... Yeah.

That actually looks more like the 97t, just in yellow.

Thats the 98T, the last 2 digits designated what year the car raced. For example, the F/090S is the McLaren MP4/5B.

The F/687S is from 1987, so it had the Camel sponsorship, so the yellow is technically correct for that car. You also could've gotten one in black and gold, similar to the John Player Special livery from a year before.

Senna's cars from GT3 were

Polyphony Digital F687/S -> Lotus 99T '87
905.jpg

Polyphony Digital F688/S -> McLaren MP4/4 '88
906.jpg

Polyphony Digital F090/S -> McLaren MP4/5B '90
907.jpg

Polyphony Digital F094/S -> William FW16 '94
909.jpg

there wasn't any 97T, 98T, ect.

While I understand how you feel about it I just don't see how it makes any sense, given all the other options for cars and tracks available, that we need the car and/or the track Senna died on, within a celebration of his life. If you were celebrating the life of JFK would you include a Carcano 91/38? If you were celebrating the life of Payne Stewart would you include a Lear Jet? The lack of taste in including Senna's last car and track is not the car and track themselves, but in associating it in any way with a celebration of Senna's life as we are supposed to be doing. I can't see how it can be a celebration of his life to include the instrument or location of his destruction.

I hope you guys are about settled with this debate, because the length of it is getting ridiculous.

PD will do what PD will do, but believe it or not, they don't like throwing mines in front of themselves.

It is comical because the entire "bad taste" portion of this thread is 100% speculation. There's been ZERO indication Imola would ever be added to GT6, let alone in conjunction with the Senna content.

I'm hopeful that Imola, Estoril, Donnington and many more locations get produced for us through the year, Senna related or not. But I could see this celebration of Senna dragging out some through the coming months.

Let's change the subject, yes? Does anyone think PD will announce more content with tomorrow's slideshow?
I imagine all the surprises have been blown now, so maybe not "more." It's possible they'll go ahead and spill it all. As I said above, I'm hoping for more goodies through the spring and summer, some of those related to Senna.

I'm going to say... yes? I hope I'm right. If I'm wrong, @GranTurismo guy, pull the trigger. :nervous:

Please let me be right. Please let me be right. Please let me be right.

I was happy to see grumpyToko taking the week off this week. Lets hope PD keep grumpyToko locked up for a while with lots of new (good) content!

Just a total guess on my part, but I do think there is something else to come for the Senna tribute as the hackers say that the data is missing some of the details of one of the sections of the tribute. Also I think we will be getting another update soon (possibly even this week). The hackers haven't found the VW GTI concept in the V1.07 data which is one of the reasons why I think another update is in-coming. (Fingers crossed very tightly :nervous:).

I'm also curious about the VW Vision GTi not being in the game files yet.
What I do know is that if anything shows up, then @Whistle Snap will probably be there to find it. :lol:

So much negativity... You really can't say PD care only for money, remember every DLC is free since the launch. We will also have 3 free tracks layouts.

Not really negative, I just know PDs track record. In the history of GT5 there has not been any free track DLC, only car DLC. Same for 6, so far there is no DLC since it's technically game update. However, same thing remains, no free tracks, only cars.

It's not a big deal for them to give away cars since compared to tracks. We also do not know if we can use the new classic layouts freely, for all we know they might be made for only the Senna special event only. In the end it all depends on how much effort PD made to make these layouts, if it's little it's most likely to be free, if it took more effort, the track is probably only for Senna event and might be released later for a fee. Same if Interlagos is released, free for only event, released later for dollars. Not because PD cares about money (even though they do), because that's how they operate.

DLC Stands for "Downloadable Content" - so by default an update is DLC. I agree, though, we're seriously lacking in new tracks.

Personally, if free content is to happen, I'd prefer it to be gone about in the way it is now in GT6 - just add it in an update, don't have the tedious middle-man of the PSstore like the free C7 in GT5. Save it for the paid content. And it doesn't make sense to release an asset for partial use, and then monetize the full use. That's basically putting off the fee to avoid giving proceeds to the Institute, just to gain more personal profit. I don't think PD would operate like that.

I hope PD keeps grumpyToko locked up for good. Being pessimistic is not my style, just letting you and others know. :P

Just to show happyToko is still happy, this is me for tomorrow, the 23rd and 27th of May.

Wax Free Vanilla(@Whistle Snap on GTPlanet) found some more text for the Senna content.

Maybe this will be better than we thought!
They might be putting the FW16 in there? That could be a little risky.
Bad taste or not I would PAY for more content, I know it's a tribute, and the FW16 it's his last Formula car, but the more we get, the better.
Don't get me wrong guys, I'm a BIG fan of Senna, I was at Imola during the tribute this May and the FW16 (with the 1994 suit) was at the near entrance of the main museum...

I hope these 'rumors' are right, 3 F1 cars is an amazing quantity of content, now I want some classic F1 Ferraris too :lol:
