I tested the camaro, corvette and R35 on grand valley as my beta test at @Brutaka's specs and found them (to the best of my skills - not the best driver out there) to be within a second of each other. I think that they are fairly well matched.

I think the differences in everyone's skill level would probably have more of a deciding factor than the small differences in performance.

Well, that's curious, I love it in GT5. It was one hell of a fun an fast car. I'm yet to drive it in GT6. I based it in my many GT5 hours. And I have to try it with the wheel. I haven't been playing lot these past days.

Perhaps it's a personal thing. I hadn't played GT5 for over a year before December, so I can't verify your claim.

I hope to get some time tuesday and wednesday. I can put a few hours on testing. I can change the car afterwards @Brutaka, in case of me changing my mind?

Yes you can change the car up until the first race. If people decide to change their car after the first race they need to give me a very explicit reason why and not just because there's another car faster.

We can set the suspension in each car?

I'll be doing some testing in a while, I'll report back my setups and the car I'll be driving.

Yes everything in the car can be adjusted except for the HP and weight, those must stay at the specs listed in the OP.

I will have to manually go through the specs of each car, starting with the corvette entries, to the Lexus entries, making sure that each person complies with the rules.

Unfortunately there's no perfect way for me to spec check weight but i can spec check PP and HP, seeing as how a 50/50 weight distribution increases PP by 1 point, i'll adjust that for every car.

I will have no mercy for people who cheat the specs, they will be banned form the race and possibly have all previously scored points taken away.

I agree with this completely! However what I'm trying to say is this:

Stock corvette spec - 563pp, 470hp, 1235kg. (145kg ballast position 0)

Move the ballast to position 12 and the pp is 564. Still with 145kg ballast, still 1235kg total, still 470hp.

All that's changed is the position of the ballast!

What's legal then?:boggled:

The only way i can make this work is if i make a "Mandatory" 50/50 weight distribution clause. If all cars go up 1 pp by having 50/50 weight then i'll just adjust the cars pp up one point in the official specs and adding a statement to adjust the weight distribution.

You would have to test that on all the others though, may be more than 1 pp.

Easy way to check spec is to just check power and weight.

Or you could make it mandatory to leave ballast at position 0 and stick to the OP specs.

Now i want to discuss the pit issue. Someone suggested switching to RM's after a pit stop but i'm not too sure about that. Are these races too long to go all out with no pit stops or do you guys want to do a stop?

Personally I would prefer a stop.

-Adds element of strategy to the race, not just a case of after 5laps everyone's in their position and that's that for the rest of the race.

-Neutralises any differences between the cars in terms of tyre wear rate.

Just my thoughts! Also what's the verdict on the pp issue! So I can continue with my prep!

Ballast position must be set to 0

I put the cars under the same conditions
Offline
Laps: 10
Track: Trial Mountain
Tuning: None, specs according to OP.

Lexus- 1:25.099
TVR- 1:24.076
Camaro: gave up. Too much of a handful, couldn't the power down
'Vette- 1:25.585
GT-R- 1:25.338

My thoughts about the cars:
Lexus- Not either a cylinder block, nor a beast, yet this car is not easy to drive. I'll have to cure understeer and soften the supension because of the bumpiness of the track
TVR- All it needs is a shorter 'box and probably softer suspension
Camaro- Lost hope... It's uncurable.
'Vette- Needs less oversteer under braking. Very good car overall. Needs more power honestly
GT-R- Needs more oversteer under braking to make faster turn ins. That's the ay I think.

---------------------

It's better to do a pit stop. These aren't Mazdas that are easy on the tires. I like the idea of mediums to promote pit strategy, but they should be allowed from the beginning of the race
