Server maintenance??

It wouldn't be too bad if it was just the online lobbies & sport mode that went "offline", but to basically take saving out of the equation is unacceptable. It would make sense to be able to spend time on photo's & liveries whilst the online lobbies & sport mode were unavailable. I mean who wants to do arcade racing when any money gained will not be recorded... :(

All I ask is to be able to save offline. Being unable to switch off my console without losing progress because of a spontaneous maintenance is filthy - at the very least PD should issue an announcement beforehand.

Save offline. Sync with their servers when they’re running. It cannot be that difficult.

It saves after every race anyway doesn't It?

Normally you could just practice a bit of offline meanwhile, but in GTS your progress won't be saved without server connection.. soooo, yes, it leaves you basically with arcade mode

Down in Europe I guess :( They should take down the servers for maintenance in less active hours and not in the afternoon.
That said, I hope they are making changes to the Daily Races system(more frequent changes).

Indeed, having virtually the entire game become useless because their servers have gone down again is going to get old very fast. I'm sure most people would be happy if we could at least design liveries or take pix in the meantime.

Also, it doesn't make sense for the players to try over and over to reconnect. It only adds to the frustration.

What's the point in having a system that tells us "you need internet connection" but then, on PD's side, they go down and we have to wait and try to "reconnect". They should reconnect automatically.

Can at least one ****ing developer prepare their servers when they release game that requires constant connection?
I was ****ing grinding one challenge for 2hours, almost broke my wheel because I was so pissed about that one, and when I finally got gold, it says my progress cannot be saved? Is this a ****ing joke?

Completely agree. An internet connection based game is missing the key component - the internet component!!

I used three days of vacation time to take and play this game during the day while the wife and kids are at work. What a terrible decision that was.

I feel for you mate

I even want to take this a step further. Why on earth do i need internet to play this game. if i want to join online race, its understandable. But for the game itself its absolutely ridiculous. Believe me i'm furious, i have so little time to play this and now i have some time i can't play offline game play. You spend a lot of money and you can't play a game. Buy a PS4 buy the game and i have to pay for playstation plus because Sony decides you have to be online to play the game. And you can't.

Sony PD whoever is responsible for this, they must be a shame of themselves.

I demand a refund for every minute i can't play when i want to play. Really i'm so pissed.

Hold the phone, they have one central server that needs maintenance that takes everyone offline simultaneously? Oh PD, who came up with this idea should be taken out back and tarred and feathered, this is the height of ignorance. Why is it imperative to have to track offline progress in the first place, you are making a bad situation worse. Send out a patch that splits the online and offline into two separate profiles so offline at any time will allow people to play the main part of the game, arcade mode isn't the main part of the game by any stretch. Making money is the main part of the game and you can't make money if you can't save it and none of the areas work, including my garage? Wait so I can't use my own cars? Are you guys out of your ever loving minds? Separate the DR/SR stuff from the offline side of the game since nothing you do offline affects that, fix it and fix it now. Anyone know where to complain directly enough for them to make this change because this is wholly unacceptable and shortsighted. Every time there is internet trouble the game becomes useless progress wise? Who thought this was a good idea? Why was he not laughed out of the conference room?

During Q&A did anyone unplug the internet and see what happens and wondered if that was a bad decision in the least? No one thought that oh hey this is not going to go down well with traditional players of games because internet is not supposed to be a vital part of a game that boasts 85% of it's content offline. Can't use scapes, my garage, none of the campaign or even visit the dealerships...these idiots can't have missed such a huge caveat. You have to be paid to look past this sort of bull. Anything they suffer from this is entirely self inflicted, they deserve all the bad publicity this brings, just like other devs releasing broken stuff this right here is absolutely absurd. My $60 game is rendered 90% useless without internet because someone thought it was a good idea to require it for things having nothing to do with online nor the integrity of the rating system.

Oh I think D2 is back up from maintenance...the nerve of some development studios.:banghead:

Good thing I can continue adding on to my Citroen Gr.3 in livery editor.

I wouldn't get too carried away, that happened to me last night. I was in the editor and happily carried on until 2AM hoping I'd be able to get a save in before going to bed.
Nope! So I left the PS4 on all night and tried again this morning. Still down.
Checked the forums and everyone said it was up again, however, to get it to connect people were saying they had to shut the game and restart it!
So yes, I lost my work
