It is said no good deed goes unpunished...

It is that punishment the US and UK have been dealing with ever since we vowed to avenge the deaths of our comrades on 9/11...

It is really too bad that many people in the world have such small minds that they would protest our totally justified war against those who would attack us. And because many of us are so afraid of terrorism that they want us to back out of our duty, the terrorists see that their plans are working and attack again.

Ladies and gentlemen, it is time to take a harder line towards terrorism, and show that we are not afraid, lest we live like this for the rest of our days...

Okay, fine. "Killing the killer". C'mon, what message is that really sending? "It's wrong to kill us, so now we are going to murder you".

Its better than just giving them a slap on the wrist and letting them go blow up another building. Right?

"Take away the human rights of others deliberately and by force and expect to lose your own.", maybe?

"Live by the sword, die by the sword.", perhaps?

Most definately agreed.

The 2nd one fits it perfectly.

There is another saying that fits here. "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few, or the one."

If we have to kill terrorists to save thousands of innocent lives, then so be it.

Not exactly the point I wanted to make here... I'm sorry. I speak from a religious standpoint here. I believe that if you take another life, you will eternally rest in The Lake of Fire.

live4speed: That "at least 40 dead" was the info given by the British government to the U.S. government.

McLaren: You are a lot smarter than I thought. :D Everybody in the states(and abroad) loves Clinton. "Oh, that Clinton was such a good president", "we were(the U.S.) in such a good shape when he was in the office!". What those people don't realize is that Clinton did not take care of many problems, while he was in his office. He left the mess for the next President to clean up. Yes, non of this crap was happening, like Social Security, terrorist attacks, North Korea, Sadam Hussein, because Clinton just left them alone! He just let things get out of control, left the mess for Bush, now he's considered a "Great" President. What a great deal!

I just don't see how "Killing the terrorists" make it any better... Are we not then becoming terrorists ourselves? :odd:
Terrorists target civillians because they're civillians.

Attacking innocent people for their innocence means that killing terrorists is in no way similar to terrorism.

Amen bro. What most people think is that the president is in control of the economy, and whether it is good or bad is always blamed on the president. The truth is that the economy is a result of many things, and the president has little or no control over it.

Oh so very true. I still don't get why its everyone bashing Bush. He's doing the best he can and is cleaning up messes that others made. I thnk the French and their president need to look at it from our point of view. We'd try to see it from theirs but we can't stick our heads that far up our asses

Thanks. I forgot all about that. That was the complaint "Clinton lovers" were making, as soon as W Bush took the office. While President can make inputs to help economy, he's not the single person responsible for poor economy.

I actually think Clinton was an OK President. However, he had so many faults, but Bush haters are brainwashed to somehow forget them all. 👎

My school (CLSB) is the most central london school, on the way to school today my bus was evacuated.

After finally ariving in school (I walked 1 mile) I recieved the first news of widespread terrorism, 2 people in my class (of 24) had taken the train from Kings Cross that had exploded, as of yet there is no information about them.

One of the explosions was heared from the school top floor and no one was allowed permisson to leave the school. We were of course instructed to phone our parents, not a single person could get through as networks faced massive overload.

Nearly all buses in the square mile have been canceled ans have all tubes, thameslink, and most overground rail networks.

I am lucky I live within 2 miles of my school, I could walk home. Many live 20 or 40 miles away. They are staying the night.

I'm glad to hear you're alright.

Wow, I'm really sorry to hear about all of this – I hope all of GTP's Londoners made it through without any harm.

My thoughts are with the dead and injured.

Serious action must be taken to find the people who are funding, organising and recruting these suicide bombers. All those people who complained about prisoners being held with no conviction should think again. We hold these people to find out how these crimes are being committed.

I''m just a little worried about a bombing happening in Portsmouth. Even though I live a few miles away from it, it would be quite scary.

I dont beleive that this was a serious attack, the amount of explosives used could have taken down a building, I think it was a warning...

Now I know I am about to make myself hugely unpopular,
but,

I blame bob geldof. Here is my reasoning, Bob Geldof encouraged thousands to march on Scotland, far more than Gleneagles can hold.

Fearing a riot a much larger amount of armed police were required, these police were Met Police policing the square mile.

With the armed police in short supply the visable and physical deterent was gone, aloowing multiple bombs to be planted.

I beleive that Bob Geldof's poor judgement is partially responsible for these attacks.

Every bombing is scary, you have every right to be scared. I would be.

37 confirmed dead now including 2 on the bus, and there's a rumour going around it could rise to 50. :(

Terrorists b******s. I hope they burn in hell.

It could quite easily. We might not know the Bus casualties for a while :nervous:

I don't think the terrorists would try to take on the NAVY in port, G.T. They prefer soft targets as you can tell.

You never know, If Portsmouth was heavily bombed, the UK's defence would be down considerably.

But they'd have to give Portsmouth a hell of a bombing if that was ever to happen, which it might not.

And it would have to be from air, since they would have no chance of getting through the Navys security forces.

I partially agree. I don't completely believe that a few more policemen on the beat would deter an attack so well co-ordinated.

However, there have been some problems mentioned because all the top SY men are at Gleneagles.

Okay. Maybe it's my weird sense of humour that raised a smile from me when I realised this, but bear with me.

This is just how good at being evil Al Qai'da are.

Six separate devices planted and detonated at rush hour, including one on a bus. Total death toll from these deliberate acts of malice - 35 (to be adjusted)

One man chucks away a cigarette. It catches alight some rubbish. Total death toll from this one accident?

THAT'S how much you've worried London. The rest of Britain is even less impressed. By the end of the weekend, the transport system will be back to normal, and by week Friday everyone will be complaining about the Tube again and laughing their arses off at Adam Kay & Suman Biswas's song.

Al Qa'ida - you aren't even on the scale.

You never know these days, all these security breaches we've had latley you don't know what can happen.
