The film makes a really good light filter when modding a web cam for IR head tracking. It blocks a good deal of light but let's IR pass through.
Havent used it for photos since like 2000.

Since I have have had horrible luck with XB1 controllers, I bought this cheap PC controller.

If you don't have some, get more memory cards. 16 gig isnt much when you are using the cameras best resolution. And it would be a waste of DSLR to use anything other than it's best resolution.

Very nice, @Nico_Ble99. đź‘Ť

Agreed.

Start shooting RAW and never look back.

I gotta agree with you, but hey, I'm just getting started in the whole DSLR business. At the moment I'm happy with what I have, though I might buy a bigger SD card when I'm home. đź‘Ť

If you're planning on shooting a lot in one day, it's worth it to keep a spare battery on hand. A microfiber cloth on hand is useful if you need to clean off the lens.

I'm into novelty socks and shoes myself.

I have a few more pairs ofr Marvin socks as well as a bunch of crazy color patterned socks that I buy every time I take my daughter to the trampoline park.

Well they are trending. I have a bunch of these cotton ones by Heel Tread. Their theme is motorsport liveries:

This one is the Audi Quatto Rallye livery.

I'm really digging the Renown 787B livery, and still need to try on the Pink Pig one at some point in time.
Too bad you don't have 4 feet. But then again an Audi Quatto is not the same as an Audi Quattro. :P

I know! :irked: :grumpy:

That's why I am trying to build one for myself , if possible using scrap ... But it will not be ghetto..

Wanted to build my own too, but the glass is the expensive part and its not trivial to mount large heavy pieces of it correctly and securely into a frame. Especially a glass door. In my case the showcase in the small-ish format I needed was just a little over a 100 bucks so I bought one, but anything larger I'd try to build. A showcase about twice the size about triples in costs and even larger ones run in the 4-digit price range.

Have you guys tried finding retail business that are going out of business or looked for the surplus of the same?
A large department store at one of our local malls closed down last year and they were selling glass cases of all sorts and sizes for really low prices. Prices that honestly were probably haggleable.

Just looking at their site. The GTI and E30 are really speaking to me. Not sure what the shipping is like but the prices for the socks themselves is reasonable. Thanks for mentioning them. đź‘Ť

I have yet to be that lucky! đź‘Ť

Keep waiting (or sign up for email updates) as they will put up some sort of sale eventually. I co-ordered with colleagues last time; 12 pairs = free shipping.

Their socks won't last long, so I definitely would keep this for very very casual outgoings. Or maybe I just walk in such a way my socks hate me for.

Brace yourself for immediate disintegration.
I am very rough im my feet. I live a very active life style (don't let the forum activity fool you ) so pretty much any sock gets holes in very short order. Usually a week or so. The only socks that tend to last are the army issue green socks. Sadly, the same generally goes for my shoes as well. I need to hurry up and get another pair of chucks so I dont ruin my Marvins.

I can vouch for H&M socks. Back in the day when I actually wore socks I’d get about 6 months from a pair of colourful socks. Although they weren’t novelty types, wearing random colours on each foot was fun (because who has time to find a pair?) and they survived being worn under DMs which wear heavily.

That went a bit off topic.

Okay, not quite...

Yesterday was my dad's 60th birthday. As a firm believer in giving people experiences versus things these days as gifts — especially when the person in question has pretty much everything they want — we bought him a Mosport track day experience in a 458 Spider. It was a joint effort between his wife, Sam and I, on the basis that he really kicked off my whole love of cars, so it was about time he got a modern experience with something fast. He had a few cool muscle cars before I came along but I'm really curious to see how he takes to this. :D
